Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey but its dry this morning in Brackley .
Today , will do my current routine , tempted to do some cooking of meals in the week.
Ready Made ones in the supermarket seem to be low.
I have Turkey and Beef Mince ,and plan to make a chilli with Turkey Mince and a spag bog with beef mince, but will use take away containers so I can freeze them if I can make sufficient portions.
My weight is going up slightly maybe apart from walking, I being unable to to travel further afield has made it possible .
Take Care
Mick

Good morning from the NE coast where we have yet another grey and cold start to the day. Monday is normally my worst day of the week but it’s just the same as all the others now .

Yesterday’s weather didn’t amount to much it was pretty cold so I did a little paint job on the down stairs toilet, just to freshen it up and kill some time . Made an extremely rare proper Sunday dinner (on a Sunday as the older DGC always asked me for a Sunday /Monday dinner). Can’t say I particularly enjoyed it as it didn’t feel right somehow.

Had a long chat with DS on the phone who seems a bit less anxious than of late . Maybe shouldn’t have said that for fear if eating my words .

Going to “that place” in about an hour to resume my telephone calls that are never answered and emails that no one seems to read. Have to set/unset the alarm regularly daily.

Have a lovely day Mr and Mrs Pantglas . I won’t call you Pants on this more refined thread grin Bucks Fizz in bed on a Monday sounds just lovely .

Happy Birthday to your lovely DD too Marydoll I hope she has a good day and gets to visit her beloved Dumbarton Castle soon . Thank you for the update on BlueSapphire I hope she is feeling better soon . I think we are all having a few wobbles these days .

No surprise but our LA have refused to reopen the tip (recycling centre) even though there was never any contact before the CV pandemic. Likewise they are refusing to empty the green bin which is full to capacity (and we pay extra to have emptied) which they say is non essential. The cynic in me thinks it suits them to sit at home drinking tea on full pay . Instead of sitting in their cabin drinking tea. hmm

Enjoy the sunshine in Malaga Urms .

Have as good a Monday as possible everyone.

love Gillybob xx

Good morning, good morning, it’s such a lovely day , good morning , good morning to you, and you and you. ???. It’s our twin grandsons 14th birthday today so I’m in singinging mode. Already having sung Happy Birthday to them . Can’t believe they were such tiny babies 4lbs each. Now they are tall and skinny and full of energy. DH finished refurbishing the bird house yesterday and it’s in situ. He’s made a good job of it after a hiatus when he had a TIA. He’s feeling much better and almost back to ‘normal’ ?. Have a good day everyone.
Happy anniversary Pantglas - that did make me laugh.?
And Notagran. Another chuckle.?
MARYDOLL hope you improve as the day wears on. ?

Good Morning from a damp Fife, it's been raining earlier here but sun poking it's little nose out so I hope it remains with us for the day. Pantglas2 - Happy Anniversary - hope you have a wonderful day.Marydoll Happy Birthday to your daughter. Did not sleep well at all last night, was up being sick through the night, lot of acid in my throat which made me sick, very unpleasant. Will have a quiet day what else grin. Hoping everyone has a go day. Take care.

Good morning from a sunny warm Morecambe Bay. I think I should have started the day with a glass of Bucks fizz , as despite the glorious morning DH and I ended up having a row on our walk. He will give me the silent treatment for the rest of the day! I think the stress of lockdown is getting to us both. I may send him on his own for our click and collect later. I was looking forward to a short ride out but maybe just stay home and get on with my crochet. I’m gardening for a neighbour later so I really must calm down!
Thinking of everyone who has real problems at the moment! Take care and stay safe.?

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, it’s hazy but let’s hope it last, had a worrying few days, but MIL passed away yesterday. Not sure what is happening about a funeral yet. But her GCs and GGcs might go , all of the adults are self isolating.
But a day in the garden is called for I think.

Have a good day everyone, and tell family and friends you love them when you next speak to them. Stay safe.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey South Yorkshire. We had a 5km walk yesterday - the longest for a while - so we will stay at home today and have a grub about in the garden. No idea what will be on the menu this evening, so I’ll have a grub about in the freezer too! Happy Anniversary Pantglas and Mr P.??. Your post made me laugh! Have a good safe day, folks.

harrigran Mon 04-May-20 09:20:28

Good morning from the NE where it is fqirly bright but not that warm.
Had a long chat with DD on Skype yesterday, she says that she may go back to work next Monday. I am not worried as she lives a five minute walk from work and everyone has their own office. Where she lives in Brussels there is a lot of parkland to exercise in.
Watched a children's film yesterday afternoon Sing and it lifted our spirits.
Had one of our substitute wines, from Morrisons order, with our lunch yesterday and it was very palatable.
Nothing planned for today but feel my sister might ring from Germany, it is always a hard work phone call. I get tired of being told what our country are doing wrong and if you just go for a brisk walk each day you would be much healthier.
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from Yorkshire.... the sun is trying its level best to get through the cloud ....

I have to say that as I'm sat in the kitchen ( front of house ) I am looking at workmen that have arrived to dig all road up and WHOAAAA has it lifted my spirits ..... normality..... plus the road will be a no-go for months ( we all have permit) which means the idiots that zoom up at 100mph WONT BE ABLE TO .... YEAHHHHH .... YIPEEEE.... YAHOOOOO..

Kalu Mon 04-May-20 09:32:56

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. Bit of a chilly wind too so I have decided to stay home today?.

What a very decadent way to start the day Pantglas?. Love it. Have a wonderful day whatever has caused you to celebrate.

Bucks fizz always reminds me of DH and I ordering this, the waiter then asked our girls what they would like and DD2 age 5 asked the waiter for a f....s bizz too please!! DD1, 8, almost slid under the table?.

I haven’t seen you posting in the morning Taichigran. I do hope all is well with you and look forward to your return?
QuaintIrene enjoy that pot of coffee in bed and stay there as long as,you like. The cat has been fed and housework will still be there tomorrow, if you’re in the mood, no rush.?

Our grey bin is being collected weekly, no recycling at the moment, everything bar cardboard so boxes in the garage will be disposed of at some point.

Well, I suppose I should think about shaking a leg and doing something constructive but I did that yesterday which means I am due a day off?

Wishing everyone a good day and a brighter day for those in need of one

Kalu Mon 04-May-20 09:39:03

The village you describe sounds a bit like Midsummer Maw?

Pittcity Mon 04-May-20 09:46:34

Our council has pared down waste collection and closed the tip too Gillybob. I've heard that it's not social distancing that's the problem nor staff sickness but that most of the staff were agency and are not being employed atm to save money.

Mapleleaf Mon 04-May-20 09:46:52

Good morning everyone,

It's still overcast here in South Yorkshire but so far not as breezy as of late.

Not sure what I'm going to do today, though will probably potter a bit in the garden.

Congratulations Pantglas. I'm assuming it's your wedding anniversary?

Keep safe all.

SusieB50 Mon 04-May-20 09:52:44

Good morning from East London , it was sunny but now beginning to cloud over , rain not forecast so will hang out the washing. Still lazing in my dressing gown can’t seem to get going today .Happy Anniversary Pantglass enjoy your day!
Plan for today is a walk soon, then clean the windows including the huge kitchen patio doors, I hate doing them as can never get them smear free .It was always a job delegated to DH .I have written a list of jobs as have little motivation .

Kalu Mon 04-May-20 10:03:50

Susie. I add a tiny amount of vinegar to the water then dry off with kitchen roll to avoid smears.

Grandmafrench Mon 04-May-20 10:03:54

Good morning everyone. Hot and sunny morning in France. Dustmen woke me this morning.....rumbling in the silence at around 6.30. Very happy that we still have 2 household waste and 1 recycling collection every week.

From my seat in my courtyard, I can hear a Hoopoe across the field, yesterday I met an egret on my walk. Was very concerned, having been bitten 3 times on my arm by a Tiger mosquito yesterday (isn’t the Covid threat enough, FGS?) to think I had spotted a breeding ground. They don’t need much, a small amount of water left in a plant saucer will do! However, took off my sunglasses as we hung over a brand new concrete storm drain in the road, where there was a small line of water in the bottom, to see.....Ta Dah! .......they were not wiggly larvae in the bottom but teeny tiny tadpoles, courtesy of the local shouty tree frogs. Very relieved they’ll soon take up the mosquito patrol, along with the little pipistrelle bats.

We’re not Bucks Fizzing here, I expect an iced coffee to turn up at any moment, but Congrats to you both, The Pantglas Two. Enjoy your day.

Get outside and lift your mood if you have some sun, everyone. Do something distracting if you’re at all down and be kind to yourselves.....and each other, Gelisa. Make your DH talk to you and say you’re sorry for falling out? Blame it on lockdown stress but don’t waste a moment in anger. Life is and can be too flaming short. Glad you smiled again, QuaintIrene

Get better, get stronger to all those in pain or wobbling.
Masses of good wishes from the other side ? of the Channel ???

Nannytopsy Mon 04-May-20 10:08:57

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
SusieB that job is on my list too!
Congratulations to the Pantglasi ?.
May see DS today to borrow a car. DiL hit a deer last night on the way home from work and may have written off one of their cars.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

EllanVannin Mon 04-May-20 10:09:11

Good Morning All x
Lovely day, though a bit of cloud about which probably won't amount to much.
A bit of washing to do and a flit to the local shop sometime today. I'm fed up of hurtling to and fro instead of taking my time, but it's a case of not lingering at the moment.

This time last year I was gearing up to see my " Oz " D and SiL who were arriving in June ! A full year has flown and I don't know how so yesterday I retraced their steps online when they stayed a few days in Dubai and went to the top of Burj Khalifa---the tallest building in the world. It's magnificent. Thank Heaven for the internet smile

Have an extra lovely day Pantglas on your occasionflowers
Last time I had a champagne breakfast was in Oz on my 50th Birthday----wonderful ( 30 years ago ! ) Enjoy.wine

Gillybob would you come under the £50,000 loan scheme for small businesses ? I would hope so x It's a thought.

A mixed grill today as although my mince-beef pie was lovely yesterday----I can still taste the onion grin so I'll finish it off tomorrow instead of today. Sometimes onions do that. Might even freeze the rest of the pie to save waste.
I probably ate too much !

Tum's rumbling for the crumpets now and I'll squeeze a couple of oranges with it.
I expect brother will ring today and maybe D if she isn't too busy at home. No sign of her returning to work yet, she'd have to have PPE because of being in direct contact with the public but it's whether the company would pay out for that.

Better get cracking or it'll be lunchtime. Hoping this finds everyone well. Stay safe and enjoy the weather if you have the sun xx

Have a good day everyone.

Grammaretto Mon 04-May-20 10:10:52

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is still chilly and has rained somewhat overnight.
I was going to have a day free of phones and interweb but look at me, not a good start. I hope I have arranged a birthday gift to DoL in NZ. to be delivered from her local shop and paid for online. If it works I'll let you know.
It's DS's birthday too. It was always Starwars when he was little.
May the 4th be with you and all that.
Happy anniversary to the Pantglasses wine
Happy birthday Marydoll's DD and any others hiding out there. grin

I am going to try and make some tea towels into face masks today, in case we will be expected to wear them if we are ever let out. We'll see!

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 04-May-20 10:15:46

Good morning from east London, sunny with some cloud, feels milder. Tomatoes all got planted up yesterday but I’ve got to remove them from the side walkthrough where they’ve been hardening off overnight. Don’t know how long I’ll bother moving them in and out everyday; plants may be on a steep toughening course. Dance class at 11 and maybe dropping some of the said plants to a friend this afternoon; Kalu, I’m a great fan of white vinegar; DP uses it to good effect on the shower cubicle. Have a good day.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 04-May-20 10:23:59

Good morning. Bright sky and very cold wind here. Our tip is closed too. I think some of the problem is that for safety uses there needs to be two people for a lot of tasks. The bin lorry operatives can’t practise social distancing in the cab. I am happy that at least the domestic rubbish has been collected. Laundry day then a lovely dinner tonight as the fridge is fully stocked and there is a choice of what to eat until there is no choice! Keep on keeping on folks as there may be a some loosening of the rules soon although actually I am nervous of that. I have a beautiful plant to locate in a nice spot - left at my door by a friend who is changing her garden around. I am the lucky beneficiary. Keep safe.
