Good Morning Everyone,
Its a windy but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day , will exercise with housework etc.
Watch TV , and have a quiet day.
Yesterday , I popped out to post a letter, there was a small que at the bank ,and no que at Boots , so over 6 weeks things have started to change a bit.

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset. Cleaning to do in corner land then a walk along the river after lunch before a couple of phone calls. A good enough day ahead. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Scentia Tue 05-May-20 06:48:04

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. The sun has got his hat in today, I will pop into the factory. Once I have done what is necessary I will come home as the garden is calling my name!!
I am noticing so many more cars on the road in my town since they opened B & Q. Can one shop make that much difference!!! Mind you, when I passed by on Sunday, they were queuing for at least half a mile to get in there!!!
Have the best day possible today and please stay safe everyone❤️❤️

NotAGran55 Tue 05-May-20 06:48:43

Good morning everyone from a windy West Berkshire morning.

My eldest son moved back home for lockdown and has been Groundforcing our garden . 15 ferns were planted yesterday and it’s my job to water them in today . Also expecting delivery of a shed to replace the one one he took down and burnt . One positive about lockdown, it’s easy to take delivery ? of things !

Another day closer to lockdown being lifted, I hope it’s a good one for everyone.

Good morning everyone.
Bit grey and breezy in Oxfordshire this morning.
Lesson to myself ...if using recycled butter containers make sure they are labelled when placed in the fridge. We had a lovely meal last night of chicken, salad and jacket potatoes topped with lemon butter icing!!shockgrin
Hope everyone is as ok as can be right now and flowers to all who are struggling

Bellasnana Tue 05-May-20 06:54:30

Good morning from Malta where the sun is shining and there is blue sky as far as the eye can see.

As usual, I have nothing planned for today and will just take it as it comes.

Hope you all have as good a day as possible, especially thinking of those of you who are struggling. sunshine

Beechnut Tue 05-May-20 06:57:39

Good Morning Mick and corner. It’s a dry with light cloud start to the day on Severnside.

I think no queues and small ones are because we are getting used to how things will be for a while. In the beginning my fear when all the pasta and loo roll was going on was that the shops would be empty and now I’ve got over that fear and the shops are stocked I feel better.

I may have a FaceTime later with my sister in law and some housework.

Do take care all and thinking of BlueSapphire ?

Beechnut Tue 05-May-20 06:59:06

Good Morning Scentia, Notagran, Sark and Bellasnana ?

Sark Tue 05-May-20 07:07:12

Hi Beechnut
Think you are right about the queues

ninathenana Tue 05-May-20 07:07:37

Good morning.
Bright again in Kent. Himself is starting his gardening job again today. So my day will be broken up by playing chauffeur.
He is so pleased to have something to do rather than just pottering in our garden and the garage.
Take care everyone.

Good morning all-and all to come from a lovely sunny Staffs-a bit breezy.
Mowed lawn yesterday so looks good-can you remember, like when you’ve been to the hairdresser? I’ve trimmed and coloured my hair twice now-it grows so fast. It looks all right but not sure what hairdresser will think!
Went to put two cards in the post yesterday at the end of our road, first time out in 3 weeks. Seemed quite strange. Few folk about who all kept away. Have been exercising walking round back and front garden-manage 7,000 steps! Neighbours call hello while I’m doing my Captain Tom (I did warn them I wasn’t pacing!)
Zoom French group this afty-might suggest we start to read Albert Camus La Peste/The Plague! They had rats though (aka the Nazis) so they could see the problem. DH will have a Zoom with his art group at the same time. All great fun!
Have as good day as possible everyone

Goodmoarming Mick and all x

It's trying to brighten up here in S E Essex.

Good morning all from a sunny breezy north Wales where I’m back to the chamberpot of tea after yesterday’s decadence! Thank you all for your kind wishes- ‘twas the most lovely anniversary and he fully deserved the bottle of Talisker Skye I surprised him with!

Have to trot out and pick up script for DH and will fill up with petrol while I’m out.

I’ve had some funny combinations with freezer contents not being marked Sark but with me it was homemade pies - savoury and sweet are now decorated with pastry offcuts rolled into letters signifying contents - SK steak&kidney!

Enjoy your day everyone x

Good morning all from Leicestershire where is it quite bright.

Great excitement in the Lester household today as our new sofa and sideboard are coming this morning. We ordered them in the new year, they were delivered to the store on March, we paid for them and then lockdown happened. The shop have now offered to deliver with all distancing observed.

We still don't have the new carpet but, hey ho, you can't have everything!! Actually, we have no idea what to do with the old furniture so we are going to be somewhat overcrowded.

grandMattie Tue 05-May-20 07:13:54

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
Newquay never read Camus although French is my first language. la Peste sounds very germane for today, might try to get a virtual copy. Thank you.
I have found my sewing mojo again, so today shall be pottering around machine and hand sewing.
Stay well y’all and stay safe.

gillybob Tue 05-May-20 07:20:45

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another dull and cold start to the day.

Had a really bad day yesterday what with one thing and another . Been up most of the night and fear another horrible day on the cards for today.

Wishing everyone well.
Love
Gillybob x

Good morning everyone from a bright Essex by the sea .
So sorry to hear about your yesterday Gilly, you have certainly been through the wringer these last few months ?. I hope there may be some improvement today x
DH had to pop out yesterday and said he would take my car to give it a run, oh dear flat battery. We now have to find some jump leads to get it going. I'm sure that there will be plenty of cars that have not been driven for months and won't start when needed.
I'm going to make some cupcakes and a casserole later.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe xx

Good morning Mick and all. It's the most brilliant morning here in Cheshire with a clear blue sky and a gentle breeze moving the trees in the wood. I'll be out there later for my walk.

It was a little bit chill when I was out in the garden at 6.00 chasing the squirrels off my roses. The cheeky wotsits run along the wall and hide in a lower section so they can sneak back when I come in.

The bed is stripped and the wash on. It's such a blessing to have good weather and I'm going to paint outside later. A picture, not the house, as I'm a total disaster at painting the house.

Warm wishes to all, especially those with worries. Stay safe and positive. I read that 'healthy' 70 year olds may be set free soon. flowers for all.

Ginny42 Tue 05-May-20 07:35:53

Oh dear Gillybob. Sorry to read that. Sending a virtual hug. xx

Good morning from South Devon where the rain is absolutely lashing down right now - complete with high winds it is a day for staying indoors. We will wait and see what Boris has to say when he addresses the nation at the end of the week with his proposals for the lockdown, given the latest Covid-19 figures. Until then please stay out of harm’s way and sending kind wishes to everyone facing sad, difficult times now.

Pittcity Tue 05-May-20 07:40:46

Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Sunny but cool is forecast. A walk to Lidl is today's highlight.

Urmstongran Tue 05-May-20 07:52:40

Good morning everyone from Malaga ? where it’s gorgeous. A blue sky just like yours over there in Malta, Bellasnana! Lockdown could have been worse.

The swifts are swooping and screeching as they fly past the open balcony. There must be 30 of them circling. I love to watch their acrobatics - first thing in a morning and then at dusk. I read up on them once. They eat, sleep and mate in the air!

We have 2 ducks in the swimming pool this morning. A resplendently plumaged male and a smaller, more drab female. They are so sweet. I watch them on and off all day (I can’t go anywhere!) and I love it when they waddle across the grass and stand patiently under the first floor balcony waiting for the little Spanish girl to break up some bread for them!

Here they are just now waiting for breakfast ... if the WiFi signal will let me share.

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Maybelater2020 Tue 05-May-20 07:55:00

Good morning all from a bright and sunny Chester. I am sitting enjoying my first cup of tea and waiting for two tonnes of topsoil to be delivered. It then needs to be transferred from the front to the back of the house. Not looking forward to the work and really wishing I had not decided to fill in a large pond, but I know that I will be feeling proud of myself by the weekend. If I wear a sleeveless t shirt I can top up my tan so I will think of it as multitasking.

Hope everyone manages to have the best day possible.

brook2704 Tue 05-May-20 07:55:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness. There’s some light white cloud and the sun should be coming out later. After a cloudy start yesterday we had a lovely sunny afternoon and I got all the washing dry outside ?
Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time again gillybob I really hope things get a bit better for you soon ❤️
sark I definitely have the same problems with my freezer contents !
Take care everyone if you’re going out and hope the day goes well ?

Good morning all, it's a beautiful morning here in Glasgow, but only 3 degrees..

Not much planned today, I felt awful yesterday. If I hadn't been sheilding, I would have thought I had the virus. It's all very strange, as I haven't been in contact with anyone.

It was lovely to see DD on her birthday yesterday. She brought some shopping and then removed herself to the bottom of the garden to open her gifts.
It was all a bit strange. Since I couldn't find candles for the cake, I wrapped battery operated fairy lights around the cake and we sang, Happy Birthday. ??

I'm quite annoyed that her online birthday card, which I paid to be delivered early, hasn't come.
I spent ages, uploading photos from her childhood, to make it special?
Knowing how that things will obviously take much longer, I thought I was being smart, obviously not. ?

Newquay, enjoy reading , La Peste. I read it as part of my coursework in sixth form and again at University. I thought I was very sophisticated, reading Camus!
Unfortunately, there was no Google translate in the old days to help with any tricky bits. ?

Thinking of all those who are struggling, especially our dear Gilly, Dragonfly and Dexter and Bluesapphire. Hoping that All is well with Susan and her wee grandson.
Too many to mention here, but best wishes to all. ?
