Surge in membership? Or 'lurkers' all joining in now?

I've just been reading a thread with more than 70 posts and I was really quite surprised at how many names were unfamiliar to me. I had a count up and there were only 20 that I recognised. So I got to thinking - has the lockdown created a surge in GN membership? Or have a lot of lurkers, who previously just read but didn't join in, started posting now that they're confined to barracks?

Having said this, I confess I don't read all threads, so I may be doing several regular posters a disservice by thinking they're new to GN blush

Perhaps the Lurkers' Threads encouraged some posters to come forward who were rather 'shy' before.
It could be that everyone is stuck at home and need a chat.

Or perhaps some have come over from the other side - are we nicer on here?

Yes, of course, Callistemon, that'll be it - we are much nicer on here. Well, as long as you steer clear of the politics threads that is wink

We are not allowed to use bad language on here, are we.

I got a post deleted because it contained a swear word. It was an expletive and not aimed at the other poster!

Naughty me.
Old people shouldn't know words like that and if they do, never ever use them.
