Hope you all had a superb Bank Holiday and even better weather! smile
My cup runneth over ! No, not with Shiraz! That's not posh; only the best crystal for the best wine! hmm
Received my May copy of "The Oldie" today; that's two in the space of only 8 days Ideal Winter lockdown reads.
Feeling sad just now. Watched an Aussie documentary on the UK mishandling of the pandemic.
Apparently everyone was too busy celebrating Brexit to notice what was going on elsewhere; something we'd suspected anyway! sad
The plight of school children and their missed education/social contact was stressed as something that will follow them henceforth. Something akin to the "Baby Boomers" era.
Barnsley seemed to attract a lot of attention; repeated shots of depressing rows of terraced houses, and also the tragic closure of pubs with patrons saying how many years they'd been attending. sad
Some of our junior schools and the senior schools, facing Exams later, went back today, but each State differes, so it's hard to keep up.
Anyway the weather is good for this time of year; zero and foggy this morning, 18C max. and sunny all day
I suppose "moderation" can mean all things to all men, and ladies of course. So we've taken a firm grip on our expenses account! hmm
Now in the market for a "Toastie Tush", Trade name for a seat-warmer; American I believe!
Good Health wine wine wine

Barnsley was always depressing Rufus at any decade this century or last ( or before that.)
Lots of children in lots of countries lost out ( education wise) sadly.
The weather here is lovely, sunny and dry for weeks, we are sitting out with a glass of something or other all the time.
Cheers ???

Good evening everyone. I'm new here. Been reading various threads for a few weeks. Thought I might tag on to this as not many people post here. Luckygirl, I'm glad you were able to spend time with your daughter. Her wildflower meadow sounds perfect. Seeing my daughter really lifted my spirits. We are approaching the second anniversary of my son's death. Stay safe and well everyone.

PS I am off to sit with a friend in her garden later. The wine is chilling.

Good evening Rufus2 and all. Yes the wine was white, Prosecco actually. I guess you're a red wine person Rufus2. Another wonderful summer day here in South East England. I have some family in NSW, on the coast. Have visited 3 times. Very enjoyable. A relaxing way of life there. Watching Boris on TV as I type. Doesn't seem as though he has any intention of sacking Dom Cummings. Hope to pop in again tomorrow. Stay safe and well.
