Taking a bit of a chance here, typing message straight into GN.
Megs You gave me a big fright ! Talking about an eye check followed by "losing the whole thing"! Then realising I"m still stupid after my encounter with the audiologist, I reread it; "bling message!". It happens to me all the time!
My dear Vera had eye checks most of her life due to hereditary glaucoma, which fortunately was kept under control with medications, even an operational procedure, trabeculectomy, involving piercing the eye-ball to relieve pressure. Makes me shudder even now thinking about it.
Her mother and all her 5 sisters lived to their 80s and 90s and all finished up blind. That was before much was known about it.
Anyway, I hope your check was only for contact lenses!
AGAA4 Thank goodness it was limited to the German episode, but it doesn't get away from the fact that PC is becoming ludicrous in its own right and dangerous!
Have GN jokes gone the same way? I'm thankful that GreatNan's legacy still survives; I enjoy them, so I'll battle on!
