Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright and sunny start to the day here in Brackley this morning.
Plans for the day , later get the bus to Bicester , there are a few items Sainsburys do which I want .
Plus the chance to maybe meet up with some people even if its from a distance.
I looked at the warmers webpage as to Hotels ,and I am hoping my late August break goes ahead .
Mick

Morning from a bright EKent. Going to be too hot and dry again today.
Got all the 7 Ikea items delivered before lunch and made up! I so enjoy putting them together, DH is my mate ?. Now I have to get him to agree the combination I like. He prefers everything be matchy matchy and symmetrical, I don’t...
Dentist today. Yay! Price has gone up 50% for a filling, but, hey, it’s only money in exchange for comfort.
14 weeks today since we went into voluntary lockdown. The rules for easing would baffle a theoretical mathematician!
Have a serenely.

Good morning Mick, grandMattie and everyone from a lovely morning in Cheshire. I think a lot of people are now looking forward to being able to plan holidays Mick. Fingers firmly crossed for you.

A wren is singing away out there. They didn't nest in my garden this spring and I missed them.

I wakened up wondering if hippos can jump. No, I've not lost my marbles. My DGS told me he'd read that elephants are the only animals that can't jump, and me being me, need to know if it's true! [hmmm] Sad or what?

I had a wonderful day yesterday. Met my sister at the nursery and spent a couple of hours helping each other to choose plants and chatted whilst my pots were planted up. I drove home with pots in the seat belts on the back seat and the boot full. When I've finished planting up the borders and round the fountain this morning it will look like home again.

Hope you are feeling better each day Marydoll. Don't overdo things. Warm wishes to all, especially anyone feeling sad or worried. The wren is still singing out there. smile

Good morning Mick and Mattie and all to come.
I've been awake since 4.30 grrr.
Unusual for me. I will shower and hang out the laundry soon, then an empty day stretches ahead.
Enjoy whatever you do.

Good Morning everyone from a sunny Severnside. It’s already too warm to think!

My coach day trip for this coming Sunday has been cancelled.

I think I’ll have a bit of a crafting day as I have a few cards to make and have seen something online that I’d like to try. I’ll probably do some shade sitting and finish my book.

Have a lovely day whatever you do and good to see you back yesterday Urmston ??

Morning Mick morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset. Off to the beach again as early as we can manage. Really enjoyed yesterday mornings walk before it was too hot and too busy. Telephone chats this afternoon, not much else. Storms forecast for tonight, see what happens. Stay cool if you can everyone and be gentle with yourselves., special thoughts for those with heavy hearts.

Urmstongran Thu 25-Jun-20 06:37:47

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s 23°C right now, rising to 31°C by lunchtime. ?

The beach was busier yesterday. No flights into Spain until 4 July so it’s the locals using their beaches. In a way I’m glad as I read yesterday that half a dozen beaches in Andalusia from Tarifa near Portugal up as far as Nerja have been shut down by the councils owing to disregarding social distancing. If the ‘Brits abroad’ had arrived the newspapers would have blamed us!

Our communal gardens and pools are still closed (which is why we’ve been going to the beach so often!). The government have stipulated that all communal gardens with pools & loungers have to be disinfected 3 times a day. The president of our building has said this will prove expensive so the gardens will remain locked until September! Some residents aren’t happy bunnies!

Thursday = grocery day by Himself for the 3 of us. I told our neighbour he’s happy to continue to do this for her once a week for the foreseeable. He carries milk & water amongst other stuff which is her heavy lifting. That way, with no urgency, she can just pop into a supermarket when she feels a bit braver.

We have no plans so will see how the day unfolds.

Hope you had a good night’s sleep Marydoll and that you are feeling better this morning Cherry.

Hope Thursday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from east London, bright and blue outside. My usual Thursday, foodbank this morning and choir this evening. We had our trial outdoor choir last night, 5 of us in the community garden; it was lovely to sing and hear voices other than my own. Before that we’d been to see DSD at her mum’s house; when DP spoke to her in the morning to wish her happy birthday, turned out she was back from Exeter for a few days. When we got there, DD and partner and GD2 were also there so that was a nice surprise. DD’s partner is due back at work on Monday as the building site he works on is opening up; he’s a ‘slinger’ (I keep saying swinger which I know has an entirely different meaning) and is keen to see how the guidelines are being interpreted. Going to read a few more pages of ‘H is for Hawk’, this month’s book club choice and then will have to move. Have a good day.

Urmstongran Thu 25-Jun-20 06:56:31

P.s. meant to say it’s lovely to have you posting on here again Maw
?

NanKate Thu 25-Jun-20 06:57:58

Morning Mick and All.

Another blisteringly hot day here in South Bucks. ☀️☀️

We are waiting expectantly for our great tit family to pledge from the bird box in our garden. I think it is very late in the season for fledging but maybe I am wrong. Any ornithologists amongst us ?

It was lovely to meet up with 5 friends for our first meet up since February. One of our group has a lovely riverside house and we sat in the shade of a large tree watching the boats sail by.

Bellasnana Thu 25-Jun-20 06:59:42

Good morning from Malta where the weather sounds very similar to Malaga’s.

I haven’t ventured to the beach yet this year. I’m not a big fan of it at the best of times as I find it boring! I can’t read as I’m too nosy and the slightest thing distracts me, so once I’ve had a swim I’m done!

Might go to the garden centre today to replace the plants I have managed to kill off. I don’t know where I go wrong but they just don’t last.

Hope you still get to go on your trip in August Mick. I’ve decided not to go anywhere for the rest of the year, much as I love to travel. I’m hoping things will be better next year if I’m still around.

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

Gingster Thu 25-Jun-20 07:38:12

Good morning from another sunny day on the Suffolk coast.
DS2 phoned a couple o days ago to say they’ve sent us a delivery for Thursday so don’t go out between 10 and 11. A surprise package ! Ooo I was excited. Then he phoned yesterday to say the delivery would be him and family. They thought they ought to tell us as he knew I would cry when they arrive. And he knew I would like to have a dust and hoover around ??. Haven’t seen them since beginning of March and I can’t wait. They are 100 miles away and are only coming for the day, so we really do appreciate their efforts, especially on this very hot day. They are also bringing all the food for lunch and tea. When they arrive, they will head straight for the sea.

Have a lovely day all. Hats and suncream at the ready. ???

kittylester Thu 25-Jun-20 07:42:06

Morning all from a very sunny and hot North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning and I have desk work to get on with as she is doing the bedrooms today.

We had our zoomed Carer's course yesterday and it is lovely to be doing something useful again.

Regular neighbours drinks tonight - in our back garden rather than the fronts as the road is getting busier. wine

Mapleleaf Thu 25-Jun-20 07:43:51

Morning all,

Another hot day in store. It was unbearable through the night and I feel like a washed out dishcloth this morning. We had to close the windows ? all night as some bees have swarmed and taken up residence in our eaves, and they were getting into the house. Got someone coming today to try to sort it. I feel an expensive job is on the way. Trouble is I imagine I can hear buzzing even when I can’t! Much as I love bees I don’t want them in the house.

Pilates class again today. I’m sure I will melt. ??

Well take care everyone and to those with worries, illness and troubles I wish you a better day today. ?

Sar53 Thu 25-Jun-20 07:44:56

Good morning from a beautiful sunny day in Essex by the sea.
The beach here yesterday was bursting at the seams. We walked down a couple of times and sat on a bench and watched the world go by.
I have to wait in for a parcel today, DH will go the supermarket for our weekly shop.
Late this afternoon he will go and sit in a friends garden with a couple of mates and put the world to rights.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

brook2704 Thu 25-Jun-20 07:45:28

Good morning everyone from Inverness , the sea haar (low misty cloud) has arrived again but I’m hoping it’ll clear soon for the sun to come out ?
Gingster I’m so pleased for you, I hope you have a lovely time with your family ! Yesterday I enjoyed a surprise garden visit from DD2 and the two little ones. It was the first time they’d come to our garden since lockdown and their little faces lit up when they ran in and started playing, awwwwww I was so happy ! I’m so much looking forward to when they can stay over and I can hug them again ?
I’m so impressed with your Ikea furniture building skills grandMattie 7 items made up before lunch must be a record !
Our little blue tit birds flew away about 2 weeks ago NanKate which I think is pretty normal up here, but I don’t know when the usual time in elsewhere. We’ve got a blackbird family visiting now and they’re fun to watch !
Hope everyone has a great day today doing something they enjoy, take care ?

Pittcity Thu 25-Jun-20 07:54:47

Good morning from sunny Colchester where the weather is similar to Malaga and Malta too.
Supermarket followed by keeping cool here.
Jay's YouTube quiz with the family online tonight.

Puzzler61 Thu 25-Jun-20 07:56:06

Good morning Mick and All, it’s a very warm start to the day in Worcs. but there is a welcome gentle breeze.

We have an early grocery delivery which has prompted me to shake my bones and get showered and dressed earlier than usual. I’ve found if I get my groceries later in the day the chilled and frozen stuff is not as cold as I’d prefer it to be when it arrives.
We’ve had several different vans and drivers, so it must be the ambient temperature set in the vans. Anyway I’ll have it put away in the fridge/freezer before the day gets hot.
I’ve told myself I’m going to just put it all away and not wipe with the antibacterial wipes for the first time. It’s my easing of lockdown.

DH asked me suddenly yesterday evening “did I want to go the local National Trust tomorrow?” as he’d been watching the booking site and 2 tickets had become available. They were for 1 pm so after talking about it we decided not to go since it’s forecast to be 31 degrees at 1 pm and too hot for me to be walking.

Keep cool everyone who is overheating - I think siesta’s for all, let’s be continental like Urmston and Bellasnana.

Special mention for Marydoll - take the day gently ?

Greyduster Thu 25-Jun-20 08:01:07

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Not a lot planned for today except trying to stay out of the heat. DD and her menfolk dropped shopping off yesterday and brought fish and chips for us all. They were lovely. We were dotted around the garden eating them, not so much for social distancing but to try and find any bit of shade!! At ten o’clock, DH and I sat outside watching bats flitting about. What a sticky night, though!
Whatever you’re all doing, enjoy your day and stay safe.

Brunette10 Thu 25-Jun-20 08:08:51

Good Morning from a beautiful day here in Fife. Sun is out, all quiet too, just lovely. NS has relaxed some rules quite a bit so looking forward with some anxiety too of going forward but we shall all make it. Thinking of Marydoll hope your recovery is going well. Had our garden visit to DD yesterday and DGS's were having lots of fun in the garden, it makes your day to see them so happy. Hoping today is good for all. Take care.

dragonfly46 Thu 25-Jun-20 08:11:48

Good morning lovely and sunny with a breeze in Leicestershire.

Got so much done yesterday, ironing and planting out the lots of plants I had delivered that I deserve a rest today. We will go for our walk early then read in the garden under the tree.

Hope you are feeling a little better Marydoll and flowers for Bellasnana as you sound a little down.

Nortsat Thu 25-Jun-20 08:16:08

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a sunny east London.

I slept fine last night but my partner couldn’t get off to sleep and is really groggy this morning.

We saw an interesting item on C4 news last night, about a team of scientists from Imperial College working on a vaccine for CV19. They say, if it works they could produce 40 million doses by summer next year. Wouldn’t that be marvellous.

My meds and the heat made me tired yesterday. We’ll need an easy day today, too.

? for Bluesapphire, Marydoll and all who need them. Have a good day, all.

Pantglas2 Thu 25-Jun-20 08:21:27

Morning all from a sunny but blowy north Wales where I’ve only just woken up! I’m sleeping so well because I’ve dried some lavender and filled my voile bags which scents my pillow all day - well, I believe it!?

I’m one of the first hatches out on the 4th July Urmstongran! I’ve started filling my little case and it feels like the Sunday school trip, it’s been so long and I’m so excited ?

How lovely for you meeting up with you sister yesterday Ginny and all of you singing or seeing friends and family - I’ve invited a friend over this morning for a distanced coffee in the garden as I’ll be away in August for her birthday so better shift myself!

Grandmafrench Thu 25-Jun-20 08:22:36

Good morning everyone.

Extremely hot and sunny today ? and shall spend it in and out of the pool and in and out of the shade.

But first, little sick dog. Clearly not well and so a visit to our lovely Vet for meds/reassurance. Whilst out I will pick up some more after bite cream! Last evening was wonderful sitting in our friends’ huge garden and watching the swallows and swifts and catching up in a cool breeze. Took my anti mozzie and ‘all insect’ spray. Typically, saw nothing so didn’t use it. This morning one arm and one leg itches like there’s no tomorrow. The pleasure of sitting in a walled garden at sunset - no wonder the birds were busy. A walled garden with walls over 11 metres high...I never cease to be amazed there, it’s like another world in the middle of a village.

Tits....like lots of other birds often have 2 broods in a season, NanKate. Maybe they missed one this year and started late?

Gingster I’m almost more excited at your news than you are. Have a marvellous day. Urms please do a little crowd control on those beaches or a lot of desperate folks are going to miss out when they get off the planes.

Marydoll bet you’ll have posted as I write this, but take it easy. (Go on. You do know how!) Cherry the same!

Drink lots of water, walk slowly (pretend you live in a hot climate) and have the best summer days you can, everyone.
But above all - keep safe and well. ?? Hugs x

Lins1066 Thu 25-Jun-20 08:27:23

Good Morning Mick and all. A very warm morning already here on the S Welsh coast. Did a load of laundry yesterday so a gentler day in prospect. A little light dusting before it gets too hot and no more. Have a good day everyone and thinking of all those with pain or worries. Take care everyone.
