DanniRae I also save the rounded side of a slice of bread till last. It's my favourite and I think it tastes better. My father died young, not many memories of him, but I do remember he saved the round slice till last!

.... and does anyone else find that husbands only do half a job? Mowing the lawn, but leaving the paths covered in grass cuttings, washing the dishes and leaving the sink full of suds and bits of food, making a cuppa and leaving puddles all over the tabletop, etc etc!!! Glad he does the jobs, but irritating nonetheless!! The kitchen sink thing is definitely a touchy subject. DH is now retired, I'm not, so now I find I come through the door, no matter how tired or hungry, or anything, I am, and my first port of call is always the sink, to give it a good clean. He will empty his tea dregs, splashing it all over my lovely white sink and doesn't rinse it off, which drives me to distraction!!! I'm afraid I also do a lot of the things you've all mentioned - glad it's not only me! We must all be little weirdos!!!! Hanging socks on the line in correct pairs and taking everything off the line in a certain order. My DH is lovely and great round the house, but I do struggle sometimes and have to bite my tongue, or wait for him to leave the room and redo things properly!!! I'm an 'if a job's worth doing......' sort of person, and he's a 'that'll do' type!!

GreenGran perhaps you should start worrying that you don’t worry enough.

I do quite a lot of things that have been mentioned not really realising they were foibles. I have a favourite china mug that I only use at Christmas - it’s not a Christmas design so not sure why. I wouldn’t ever put it in the dishwasher as that would be mean.

My SIL gets through several bottles of bleach every week, hoovers at least twice a day, washes curtains weekly etc but has no specific kitchen cupboards. When drying up dishes for her I was told to just put things away wherever I found a space. My brain just couldn’t compute so I piled everything up on the worktop. She does a lot of cooking so presumably spends ages searching for whatever she requires. It’s her who is bonkers - not me.

Sigh. Pairs in nice colours. My tablet had to go all French when talking pants!

It was an M&S 6 pack that sneakily introduced the depressing pants into my life. 4 lovely pais in Nice colours and designs and, hidden behind them, 2 ugly, pink, old lady ones. They're going to last forever too. Och!

I’ve got depressing pants too, @Jane10. Was only thinking yesterday that M&S pants last far too long, so no excuse for the frugal-minded to chuck them and go mad with nice new 6 packs.

I've developed a silly walk when going in and out of the bedroom, as I noticed the carpet is starting to look worn in the doorway so I need to step on the less worn bits.

hollysteers. I’m O Rh. Egative too. I have been sitting here, desperately trying to think of anything that I do which fits in with all you —crazies— unusual ladies.
I can’t think of one thing that fits the pattern. I don’t count things, check things, pattern things, talk to things (except the odd swear word when the don’t work) No strict ways of doing things. Maybe I’m the strange one!

One of the offices I used to work in had windows which overlooked a car park. There was one guy whose parking routines used to keep us amused for ages.
He would drive around and around the car park for at least 10 minutes before he chose a parking bay. Then he would sit in the car and turn the lights, wipers etc on and off for about 5 minutes before he switched the engine off. When he eventually got out of the car he would lock it then walk round and around checking that all the doors were locked - he would do this at least 10 times before walking away. He would get half way across the car park and return and check all the doors again two or three times.
He returned to the car at lunch time and sat and ate his sandwiches in the car then go through his checking routines all over again.
After a while I felt really sorry for him, it must have been a nightmare for him.

Oh yes hollysteers I hate it if I have a new book or magazine and someone else looks at it first - its mine !!

My oddity concerns ‘virgin’ books and magazines. If I have a new magazine or book new to me and someone opens it to show me something at random, I can’t look as it will taint it! I have to start at the beginning myself. The only exception is when reading a biography, I will look at the section of photos in the middle of the book.
I have a strange OCD habit of counting to myself say the four corners of a table with my toe or index finger or counting odd things. Also if I see one bird on the bird table or something similar, I say to myself “I must wait for another” as a safety measure of some strange kind...weird.
I’m 0 rhesus negative which may explain it..?

I've always check our front door by leaning on it a couple of times, but that's because I went out once and left it slightly open, hence my paranoia ever since. I also have mad moments just before we're off for a day out, driving my husband mad, getting out of the car and rushing upstairs (2 flights in our house) to see if I've unplugged my heated hairbrush, inevitably I have, but ……..well gotta check one more time! My husband's thing is to get out of the car and then halfway down the road say "did I lock it?"

My home habit since the lockdown has been to use my late mother in law's fine bone china tea cups out, I have several sets of her china which only get used when we have visitors, tea tastes so much better out of the appropriate receptacle in my humble opinion!

I think we'll all end up with OCD from hand washing and sanitising every time we touch something when this phase has finally left us, such habits will no doubt linger, maybe not a bad thing though!

Well I have plenty of idiosyncracies and I'm not type A blood - I'm O+. I used to do the pegging thing. When we were a family of 4 we all had our own colour of peg and then there were white ones for anything non-personal like T towels. Positions of mugs on the rack is very important and I definitely favour the front right burner on the hob. Now there's just me it's a whole lot easier - no-one to mess up my systems, load the dishwasher wrong or put things away in the wrong place! I don't do checking things much though except if I'm going away. On more than one occasion I've come into the kitchen and found the front right burner still alight having been on low all night! The cooker even has a glass lid which cuts off the gas if you close it but I often don't lower it as I may leave used pans on the top if the sink is full!

I'm AB+. Not sure what that makes me. Just a bit odd I suppose.

This thread is so funny. I think everyone has a degree of OCD. Its very comforting to know.
I do the jiggle handles thing too and hangers in same direction.
I check the upstairs taps when I go out. A neighbours house flooded 30 years ago from tap left on upstairs.

I think taking photos is a great idea!

Hello Grannyscotland welcome I’m quite new too!

I belong to a knitting group and have to finish one item at a time and fully complete it before starting another. I get really uncomfortable when others have 2 or 3 projects on the go or have large piles of items waiting to be sewn up or buttons added!
