Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey start here in Brackley with showings of overnight rain , could be thundery as well looking at the sky.
This will not put me off going out on the bus routes to Buckingham and Bicester vice versa .
With my usual Chinese take away later again the need for a face mask .
Enjoy your day ,
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning Mick from soon to be sunny Spain where I’m sitting on the cool patio enjoying the chamberpot ☕️.

Nothing planned for today after yesterday’s lovely lunch & laughter- we got quite raunchy with the banter as women do when the menfolk aren’t around ?!

Have a pleasant and peaceful weekend and hugs to those not feeling clever at the moment ?

grandMattie Sat 25-Jul-20 06:26:23

Good morning from an overcast, drizzly EKent.
Where are you getting your mask, Mick ? I’ve made several, the shaped and the pleated ones and feel less claustrophobic in the pleated one. Shall make a few more. Troubles is that I’m quite claustrophobic anyway, so wearing one is going to help much. Hey ho.
Had a bit of a panic yesterday. DS likes to go for a run. We were expecting him home around 530p.m. by 6 he hadn’t returned. I tried calling him, but he’d left his phone at home. Eventually he turned up at 630. He’d only decided to run a half marathon without saying so. He’s a grown up now, but sometimes behaves as if he was 15. I wish one didn’t worry so much about one’s ADC.
Nothing on today.
Those in sorrow, illness or pain, I hope today brings light. To all, gave a good day. Stay safe.

Xd post Pant. Did you make the chutneys? Even after 50 years in England, I find chutneys and pickles “too English “. DH says I’m racist...?

Beechnut Sat 25-Jul-20 06:32:08

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where we have also had rain and now have swiftly moving clouds.

I am going to do some upstairs hoovering this morning and DD is coming for lunch. I’m looking forward to catching up as I have some news to share with her.

Have a lovey whatever you do ?

MellowYellow Sat 25-Jul-20 06:38:12

Morning everyone from a very rainy and dark south Cornwall. No plans today except to finish making a knitted dinosaur for my little grandson's birthday. May take a bus to Porthleven and have a coffee there. Or Marazion for a walk on the beach. Choices, choices... Have a peaceful day everyone, where that's possible.

Pantglas2 Sat 25-Jul-20 06:39:06

Here they are GrandMattie......Red Onion Marmalade next week, then Sweet Chilli Jam and Lemon Curd in August and my little stash is replenished!

Sar53 Sat 25-Jul-20 06:41:09

Good morning from a very grey Essex by the sea. I wish I didn't wake up so early it makes the day very long !!
We bought all the 'stuff' to tackle the ivy yesterday then sat outside a coffee shop, the first time for months. Everyone was wearing their masks when they needed to, the new norm for now.
I heard yesterday that the Genesis concert I was going to with my daughters has been rescheduled for April next year. This could cause a clash with our plans to go to France for three months. Next April is a long time ahead so will wait and see.
The weather isn't looking up to much today so our usual Saturday morning walk, with our flask of coffee and biscuits, won't be happening. I'm sure we will find something to do.
Have the best day you can and stay safe xx

grandMattie Sat 25-Jul-20 06:41:54

Well done, Pant ! Hope you didn’t get too hot in that kitchen. Btw DH loathes lemon curd. Do you make it in the microwave; it’s so easy. Easy to scramble the eggs too!

Good morning Mick and everyone. A grey, mizzling start in Oxfordshire. Yesterday I shopped wearing my pink, pleated face mask. I was wearing pink jeans, navy and white striped top. I met a friend in the supermarket, she liked my mask, and that it coordinated with my outfit. As we parted she said that I managed to make wearing a mask look nice. I spent part of the afternoon with a friend who has dementia, helping her to sort out some of her 'muddles'. Listening to Classic FM as I write. Thoughts go to those with problems, illness or sadness. Especially my oldest friend whose son is dying. Stay safe and well everyone.

grandMattie Sat 25-Jul-20 06:44:36

One of my friends from Spanish classes stole some large lemons from over a fence in Torrevieja. I made her some Mermelade de Limones Robados..?

Spangler Sat 25-Jul-20 06:47:13

Good morning from a very damp New Forest. I came across these two posts from yesterday. Just confirming my gender.

Nortsat Fri 24-Jul-20 09:24:35
Spangler, of course you had to trek to the 24 hour garage, to get Lulu her preferred breakfast. For goodness sake woman, don’t let your standards slip...

Urmstongran Fri 24-Jul-20 09:33:32
Nortsat - Spangler is a man.

Nortsat, Urmstongran is right, but I am originally from East London. My forum name is a cryptic clue to my real name.

Good morning Mick and everyone. Grey skies and thunder forecast here too in Perthshire but as forecasts have been quite unreliable just now it’s a wait and see day again.

I understand, due to lack of trans Atlantic flights a lack of recorded climate data doesn’t give forecasters the necessary readings to rely on.

Plenty to keep me busy indoors and relax with my book later.

Have a pleasant day all and a better day for those of you having difficult times.

NfkDumpling Sat 25-Jul-20 06:50:18

Morning All

It rained last night and is drizzling now! The garden is picking up already.

I’m not keen on chutneys Pantglas - except for red onion, mango and asparagus. (As three separate chutneys, not one sortgrin). A farmer up the road makes her own asparagus chutney and I usually buy six jars to last me the year, but this year of course, no stalls, no chutney. I have one jar left which I daren’t open. I’m saving it! I’m hoping she made some anyway and will appear at our August farmers market.

Have a successful Saturday Everyone.

MellowYellow Sat 25-Jul-20 06:51:26

I knew you were a man Spangler but I don't know why I decided that! hmm

Spangler Sat 25-Jul-20 06:54:20

Mellow Yellow, I'm new to this, reading the notes when I joined, it's advised not to use your name. Spangler was the real name of the actor whose stage name is the same as mine.

Urmstongran Sat 25-Jul-20 06:54:32

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s warm but we have no sun. A misty morning.

I noticed yesterday on the beach that there were no floats or rings etc in the sea here too GG13. I hadn’t twigged until you mentioned it. I wonder why that is now a rule? I don’t understand the reasoning.

Beechnut that’s a teaser!
Pantglas your afternoon with the girls sounded fun!

No plans today. Will strip the bed, sweep and mop the floor tiles and clean the bathroom. Doing it between us should take ooh, all of a good half hour. Then breakfast downstairs I think in Juan’s bar. Himself will be having his usual couple of beers with his friend at teatime.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

MellowYellow Sat 25-Jul-20 07:09:57

Spangler, I'm fairly new to this too. I chose my name cos Mellow Yellow was a favourite record in my youth. It's fun to see the various names, some of them very cryptic. smile

Scentia Sat 25-Jul-20 07:12:01

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, a little grey out there today.
Off on a cycle ride with the pooch in a while, will stop off at the pet shop to get her a treat and some of her ‘little present bags’!
This afternoon I have loads of things that I intend to put on EBay I would normally take stuff to the tip but that is too complicated so I am having a go at selling it all. DD said I should always do that instead of ditching it as I can make some pennies as well as recycling, win win?
Take care everyone and stay safe.

gillybob Sat 25-Jul-20 07:16:25

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another cloudy start . I think this summer is a complete wash out .

Had a busy day yesterday what with my cleaning in “that place” in the morning, then taking DGS for his new footy boots and looking after little Evie Buttons until after 8.30pm .

Bless her she is having a nasty eczema flare up at the minute and the GP is proving worse than useless . Of course they wont’t see her, but asked DD to send photographs , then prescribed some useless emollient that my DD told them was no good months ago.

Watched that new Miriam Margolyes program about Australia later . I really enjoyed it .

A bit shopping to do today (with mask of course).

Thinking of those feeling poorly, sad or under the weather, especially our missing friends BlueSapphire , Dragonfly and CherryCezzy.

Hoping we all have the best Saturday possible .

Love Gillybob xx

Good morning all from a now overcast mid-Notts. The sun was out but now disappeared. I've got his Lordship the cat purring contentedly on my lap after his brief trip out on the terrace/catio to survey his kingdom. He's quite the senior at around 19 so he's mainly an indoor boy but he does like to pop out for a look at the outside world. My covid test is done, sealed up and waiting for collection. What's the betting that it's not collected till 6pm?? Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe x

Gingster Sat 25-Jul-20 07:36:48

Good morning from a very grey Essex. Yesterday was so warm again. We had the fan in until well into the evening.

I watched the Miriam Margolyes programme. Really enjoyed it. One minute she’s rude, aggressive and revolting, the next she’s emotional and considerate, and kindly. A very complex woman.

My little pooch is still limping intermittently. She’s been on anti inflammatries and turmeric for a week, with very short on lead walks. I think the next step is x rays , but we will be away for all of August so I’ll just have to keep her quiet. She’s desperate to run and jump. My DS1 and family are joining us next week and they have a big dog , so I don’t know how things will work out.

My SIL sent me a mask that has birds on it, lightweight and silky but it’s got a pointy bit (supposed to be a beak) but it just makes me look as though I have a large nose.

Have a pleasant day. ?

Pittcity Sat 25-Jul-20 07:46:13

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Rain is forecast.
No plans this weekend so must find a project or shall I just watch TV?

Marydoll Sat 25-Jul-20 08:22:24

Good morning all from a wet, but mild Glasgow.

Sar, we too were going to the Genesis concert in December. DH is so disappointed. Despite living only a twenty minute drive away from the venue, we were going to stay overnight next to the venue and have dinner, as a treat.

A quiet day for us today, no expected visitors, as DD came last night instead. We needed help to try out the gazebo for the wedding, it's much better than I had hoped.

I was in the middle of making the tablet and Belgian buns, when the Tesco delivery arrived early What a fankle I was in, as DH, who was golfing, usually brings in the heavy bags, as I struggle.
DD thought she was helping when some items were missing from the online basket, so she added them. I went in later and added them too, with checking. We now have a your of potatoes and more.?
Much to my disappointment, I ended up burning the buns! ?
What annoyed me even further was that DH could see the Tesco van delivering from the car park as he was leaving and arrived just as the last bag of shopping was put away.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable day and hugs for our missing posters.

Good morning everyone from a grey drizzly Inverness with more rain forecast for later. Yesterday through was a beautiful warm day and the get together in the neighbours garden last night was really enjoyable!
DH and I were planning a day out today but DD2 messaged last night to see if we could meet up this morning with the DGC so plans have changed!
Hope everyone has a good Saturday and take care if out and about! ?
