I have found it- I was too slow and missed the end of the last kitchen. Another glorious day here again.

Supper is sorted for tonight but I must pick up an Amazon parcel at a local PO.

Hello charleygirl , we’re first in. It looks very nice soop big worktop for all the cakes we’re going to get. Urn on the boil ready for plentiful cuppa’s. Lots of nice cosy chairs. Ooh and a freezer full of mini magnums ?. soop you are spoiling us ?
I’ve got some bubbly on the side to celebrate. Both alcoholic and non alcohol version for those who want it.
annsixty I saw your lovely haircut photo in the old kitchen. It looks so nice. Lovely colour.
Back later. Please save some cake for me if anyone brings some ?

Grandmabatty Thu 30-Jul-20 14:29:48

Afternoon all. Thank you for the new kitchen soop. Interesting trip across the bridge yesterday to support our friend who is proper poorly, navigated via open toilets hmm Google is a wonderful thing for research. A bit restricted by the Welsh rules but we did what we could. Pleasant walk around a small lake this morning, onwards to the garden now, seems to be an unreasonable amount of energy here today. I don’t get in so much these days but please know I am TOYA.

Welcome and tuck in to the tasty offerings. I shall pop the virtual Champagne. I would really enjoy doing so in reality, together with you lovely lot.

New baby is due very soon. Granddaughters (not mine) wink I've spent an age choosing "unisex" clothing as we do not know whether Mila's to have a sister or brother. I then came across a hand knitted Pooh bear and, I've added that to the goodies that we'll be posting in time for baby's appearance.

Now I really must do some ironing. smile moon

Your kitchen is warm and welcoming soop. I will bring some home made cakes. My Cumberland Courting cakes always go down well.

I had my first cuddle for 5 months from my little grandson aged 14 months now, on Tuesday.

As they live 70 miles away it will have to last me for a little while.

Beautiful sky, cornergran - looks like it's windy high in the sky. I read messages at lunchtime and now - well, here we are. Someone told me/the Kitchen about "Mrs America" : was it you grandmabatty - I've already forgotten? Thank you so much/or to whoever it was for the endorsement, I shall now watch the series with interest.

Noticed that Izabella dropped in and left a very amusing post. Hope so much that you and your DH are doing well.

Very very hot here today - because the wind has disappeared. That's when 34 really feels like 34!

I need another haircut, Ann, you've just reminded me. It seems I have missed your pre-haircut. Maybe you can post another photo? Assume there's no way back to the earlier Kitchen, or is that just me not knowing my way around? Must make an appointment today before she closes. Just off now to make a nice cuppa and catch up with an English magazine which arrived today. Long telephone call with DS this morning. We put the world to rights ( again ) so things should be a lot better from now on! Oh imagine if life could be fixed just like that.

Take care, please, all those who need to take special care - especially Cherry. Hope you're keeping out of mischief, Madam?

TOYA and sending lots of very good wishes from France x

Pittcity Thu 30-Jul-20 16:06:49

Just popped in for a mini Magnum. I knew there'd be some in the newly stocked kitchen and it's quite hot here today!

annodomini Thu 30-Jul-20 16:07:43

There's an orange drizzle cake in the oven. If it turns out well and if I don't scoff the lot, it will be there for you when it's cooled.

Puzzler61 Thu 30-Jul-20 16:17:43

Phew, just got here. Brought the Agapanthus’ from the old kitchen and took a wrong turn.

This looks like we’ve been here for ages, so warm and welcoming, smell of cake baking and Magnums in the freezer for the expected heatwave.

We’re going to be very comfortable here grans. Thank you soop.

Puzzler61 Thu 30-Jul-20 16:45:05

cornergran your photo is spectacular!

Grandmabatty Thu 30-Jul-20 16:52:35

grandmafrench yes indeed twas I who recommended Mrs America. I loved the storyline and remembered the 70s so well as it was really evocative of that time. Let me know what you think. I'm a bit scunnered as the weather here has been dire today. I'm holding out for a bit of heat tomorrow. Those agapanthus are stunning.

Doodle Thu 30-Jul-20 18:03:27

Found you at last. I always enjoy looking at the photos - these two are lovely. We had an in-house photographer a while back who posted great pictures. Apologies to her that I’ve forgotten her name, but haven’t seen her for a while. I hope she’s well, and maybe I’ve just missed her.

annsixty Fri 31-Jul-20 03:48:40

Bellanonna ‘twas Grannyqueenie and I too miss her superb photos.
She did post once on another thread a few weeks ago but like you I hope she is well.

Susan56 Fri 31-Jul-20 09:34:12

Good morning all in the new kitchen.I have been absent for a few days so have probably missed lots of your news.

Lovely picture cornergran.

Exciting news of a new baby arriving soon soop??Hope MacS is doing ok and you have news of his scalp being seen to?

We spent yesterday in Staffordshire with our younger daughter and family. It was a lovely day and so good to see them.We went for a walk with little B who is now two years old.We were out for a while but didn’t get very far as every stone had to be lifted to look for bugs, every tree checked for birds and squirrels. His joy on spotting a ladybird in the grass was infectious.

A hot day forecast so laundry planned?

I shall look forward to watching Mrs America. There hasn’t been much I have enjoyed on TV lately so thank you for the recommendation.

Have a good day all and stay safe?

Puzzler61 Fri 31-Jul-20 09:53:29

A new baby soon soop. That’s wonderful. We’ll have to hang bunting in this new Kitchen - pink or blue - when we know if it’s a girl or a boy.

Unisex clothing - we had those for our babies - it was all white! ?

Susan isn’t it a sheer joy to see the world through the eyes of a toddler? Everything is to be closely explored on a countryside walk.

Have a happy day everyone.

Purplepixie Fri 31-Jul-20 10:03:35

Hello all in this wonderful warm and new kitchen - I love it.

Thank you to all who have posted photos - wonderful!

Sorry I haven’t been around much lately but I am having a bit of a melt down. Catch up soon.

Stay safe and sane. X

Bellanonna Fri 31-Jul-20 10:36:59

Thanks ann, of course it was GQ. Let’s hope she’s back soon.

annsixty Fri 31-Jul-20 10:55:35

Good morning all.
Disappointment all round this morning as we are affected by the new partial lockdown here.
I have just had my D on the phone asking what we can do.
Sadly the answer seems to be nothing.
I haven’t seen them since January and at my age I am beginning to think I may never see them again.
The situation seems so contradictory that it is hard to understand.
Today one of my friends is going on holiday to a large barn conversion with all her immediate family, there will be eleven of them and with GD’s boyfriend , five households will be living cheek by jowl.
Does the fact that they will be in another area override the fact that that some of them are from an affected area?
Clarity seems to be needed.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 31-Jul-20 11:25:11

annsixty sorry you cannot see your DD and GD, you will see them soon ??

I think we shall see more of these local lockdowns, the virus is not going away anytime soon, we just have to keep social distancing and be aware.

I have just come back from the gym I had two classes there were dots forming a circle on the floor and we stayed in our own spaces. I now ache in places I didn’t know I had ???

NanaandGrampy Fri 31-Jul-20 13:22:16

Afternoon all!

Missed the going of the old kitchen so glad I found the new one.

Congrats Soop on your soon to arrive new great grand baby ! How exciting.

Sorry to hear the bad news Ann , I have spent an hour and a half on the phone to Sykes trying to sort our family trip in October out. It couldn’t get more complicated. 4 separate families, one shielding, one in Spain..... and Sykes are incredibly difficult to even get hold out. We are hoping for a best case scenario where we defer our booking to next year but anything could happen .

One things for sure I see a lot more life lost waiting on them answering their phone ??
