Tapas style food to go with it so we can pretend we are in Spain! As we are back in lockdown not going anywhere any time soon. So, a lazy day on the garden. Hope you all enjoy the weekend. Keep safe - a while since I've said that. Have the best day you can. flowersfor those with cares and worries

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. I’m awake early and have been waiting for you to open up the day Mick. Have fun with your packing.

I’m off to do my weekly shop and maybe pick up my prescription. After that who knows as it’s going to be a warm one again today.

I hope that thumbs are up for MrGilly today and everyone has a good day whatever you do ?

MawB Fri 31-Jul-20 06:23:29

Good morning Mick and all to come .
Commiserations to those affected by the new lockdown measures, but if it keeps you safe it has to be worth it.
I don’t think I‘ll be going anywhere too far from my Dyson fan!
But wishing you all a pleasant day ???

grandMattie Fri 31-Jul-20 06:30:07

Good morning all from warm, sunny E Kent.
Was blindsided by another new “good morning” OP. Who is he?
Mick, you must be so excited. Hope it all goes well. ?
Had another attack of labyrinthitis yesterday on our walk. Not pleasant but managed to lessen effect with pill always in my handbag. It left me feeling rather washed out all day, with the attendant crashing headache. Last attack was on Easter morning...
Feeling fine today, but I don’t like the heat. Probs carry on with patchwork. I’ve already made 24 of 36 squares required. Shop is waiting for backing fabric so I can quilt each square individually.
Hope procedures taking place today go well, all having had them are recovering well, all those with mental health difficulties start to see a chink of light, and everyone else have the best day possible.

Good morning from a sunny Essex by the sea. Bright blue sky and a gentle breeze at the moment.
We are going to take our fold up chairs, our lunch and our books down to the grass above the beach later. Plus our suncream of course.
A few hours outside then we will retire to the cool of our flat.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

Pantglas2 Fri 31-Jul-20 06:51:42

Morning all from a dry and bright Espana where the water ? is back to normal, glory be! 36 hours in this heat was a shocker!

I’m Welsh for heaven sake, live within 200 yds of the sea and 5 miles from half a dozen lakes - add that to all the rain we get and I’ve never heard of water shortages!

Enjoy your tapas Mancgirl and the fine weather- some compensation for the restrictions, I’m sure. Good luck to mr Gillybob and anyone else in need ?

NanKate Fri 31-Jul-20 06:53:03

Morning Mick and All.

We re in for a scorcher today.

The cleaner is coming at 8.45 and as we like to leave her to it we are going down town to our favourite Italian restaurant for breakfast - how decadent !

Glad you are feeling better grandM I had the same as you once and it knocked me for 6. ?

NanKate Fri 31-Jul-20 06:54:31

MrGillybob ?

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 31-Jul-20 07:00:35

Good morning from the Kent coast, sunny and bright but the breeze is quite strong. Will no doubt get my feet wet today, first time for ages I’ll have worn a swimming costume.
Hope you have a good day.

mancgirl Fri 31-Jul-20 07:02:39

Forgot to say fingers crossed and good luck Mr Gillybob

brook2704 Fri 31-Jul-20 07:08:13

Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Inverness where we have a very warm day forecast - at last ?
I’ll be pottering in the garden this morning and then I’m looking forward to meeting up with a friend for a coffee and a catch up later today.
Hope all goes well for mr Gilly today and take care everyone whatever the day brings ?

Scentia Fri 31-Jul-20 07:09:00

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. We are in for a scorcher today. I am off on my DH motorcycle today, playing pillion for the first time in years. I am going to pack a picnic and a blanket and see where we can stop for lunch. I may talk him into going up to Lincoln yo the Daisy Made ice cream shop, as they do vegan ice creams????
We are having friends over for drinks tonight so I will pop to the shops for beer and snacks later.
Hope Mr Gillybob is ok and everything goes ok today.
Well folks enjoy the sunshine and stay safe everyone.

Pittcity Fri 31-Jul-20 07:09:33

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Going to be hot and stormy here later. That's the weather, not me!
Must pop to Lidl before the plumber arrives to service my boiler...... I've come over all double entendre today ?

Froglady Fri 31-Jul-20 07:10:02

Morning to everyone. Looks like it's going to be a good day weatherwise in Blackburn.
My sister and brother-in-law were supposed to be calling today to have a socially distanced lunch on my drive on their way from Bedford to the Lake District. My niece has booked a house for her family and my sister for a week there. Everything has changed now as I can't have any visitors again, either in the garden or house. Was really looking forward to seeing them as the last time was at Christmas. I wouldn't have known anything except my friend rang me at 10pm to tell me about the new rules. I realise why it has to happen but so disappointed about not seeing my family. Never mind, it means I don't have to disinfect the bathroom for visitors so that's one positive.
Hope you all have a lovely day.

Urmstongran Fri 31-Jul-20 07:17:24

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ?

We’re off to the beach later. We did notice on Wednesday there are more visitors as more sun beds were taken up.

I’ve started a cracking new read on my Kindle ‘Beloved’ written in 1987 by the American writer Toni Morrison. Set after the American Civil War, it is inspired by the life of Margaret Garner, an African American who escaped slavery in Kentucky in late January 1856 by crossing the Ohio River to Ohio, a free state.

I hear it’s lockdown at home (Greater Manchester) so I’m off to read the newspapers to see what’s going on. I think Oldham and other north Manchester towns have caused a spike.

Trusting all goes well today for mr.gillybob - this day has been a long time coming.

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. This virus isn’t going anywhere any time soon. x

cornergran Fri 31-Jul-20 07:18:34

Morning Mick, morning All. Blue skies and a hot day forecast for our corner of Somerset. Grocery delivery first thing, will check out the beach at some point, probably late afternoon. Not sure what else, see how we feel. More crossed fingers for Mr Gillybob, truly hope for the best outcome. Hope maeydoll is more comfortable. Be gentle with yourselves everyone and please take care out there.

Puzzler61 Fri 31-Jul-20 07:29:41

Good morning Mick and all Worcs. It’s going to be a beautiful day. I have woken up remembering a dream - in it we had a swimming pool in our garden. I’ve checked out of the window and, nope, we definitely don’t! Pity, I would get in it today ?

grandMattie take things easy, give yourself time to get over your Labrynthitis episode.
I hope Marydoll is okay.
Pants glad you have water again.
Good Luck to Mr gillybob.

Take care all. ?

Puzzler61 Fri 31-Jul-20 07:31:29

Froglady , sorry for you. What a disappointment? ?

Nortsat Fri 31-Jul-20 07:44:02

Good morning Mick and the GM team, from a bright east London. ?

On line exercise sessions for both me and my partner today (separate ones because mine is rather more gentle than his). I think I will venture into the garden today, but remain safely in the shade.
We will eat our supper outside this evening about 8.00, when the heat has diminished. We’re having salmon and opening a bottle of something dry, white and cold ...

Good luck to Mr & Mrs Gillybob today.
grandMattie so sorry to hear about your labrynthitis episode. I have Ménière’s disease, which is similar and I was disappointed to have an episode yesterday too. It’s unpleasant isn’t it?
Sorry to hear about some northern towns having extra lockdown imposed Froglady. It appears to be the result of people not observing social distancing, if that is so, how utterly selfish.

Finally, who is the poster of the ‘other’ Good Morning thread? His OP doesn’t make much sense?

Have a good day all and ? to Bluesapphire, Cherry, Dragonfly and all who need it. Hope Maryd has a comfortable day, too. ?

Marydoll Fri 31-Jul-20 07:52:49

Good morning all from Glasgow, we have been promised a sunny day for a change, I will believe it when I see it!
DH is off to play golf, but I can see a big black cloud hovering over the golf course. ☹️

Today is my last day of shielding, but I still won't be venturing far. It's quite scary hearing of all the new lockdowns. Why don't people just follow the blooming guidelines and keep themselves and others safe ?
I have been feeling pretty rough over the last few days, so a gentle day ahead for me.

Grandmattie, how awful for you. I had an attack of labyrinthitis when I was in the coronary care unit last year. The next thing I knew, I was rushed for a head scan, in case it was something more sinister.
I was vomiting everywhere and kept saying to the staff in the CT unit, Just let me die!!!! ?
I hope you are feeling better today.

Sending my very best wishes to the Gillybobs and praying that all goes well today.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.

kittylester Fri 31-Jul-20 07:53:15

Morning all from an already hot North Leicestershire. We'd love the windows wide open but there are men patching the road outside and it's quite noisy.

Our usual Thursday neighbours drinks last night was lovely - we sat round a neighbour's pond for far too long.

Thinking of mrgillybob and everyone else who needs a hug.

Grandmafrench Fri 31-Jul-20 07:53:36

Good Morning everyone from S of very hot ??

No breakfast...just off for a blood test. Such a fun way to start the day. All chamberpots on hold☕️ !

So pleased to hear of summer weather in UK. Enjoy it all and take your mini holidays today? Kick back and just relax. So sorry for your change of plans Froglady. I think we’re all still worried about going backwards.

You deserve every bit of help you get, Ellan. So glad the family is benefitting at last and things are settling down a little.

Today’s orders?
Feel better soon, Grandmattie. Slowly does it Marydoll and anyone feeling under the weather or anxious and missing from today’s Good Morning parade....you’ll get there. Best wishes for a successful op and safe return, Mr Gillybob. May your life and your luck now start to turn - at long last!

Take care at the back, Scentia, enjoy dipping those toes Mythbirt and have a chilled beach day, Sar. Have a lovely holiday, Mick

Whatever you all choose to do, have fun and make it count!
Stay safe, keep smiling. Hugs x

Grandmabatty Fri 31-Jul-20 07:55:44

Good morning Mick and All early birds.? For those in England who are again in lock down. Fingers crossed ? for Mr.gillybob today. pantglasand Urmstongran even in Scotland today it's to be hot. I'm making the most of it as its not to last. grandmafrench I hope you got your door yesterday. At the moment in Polmont it is very misty. The sun is up there, it just needs to break through. All of my windows were steamed up on the outside this morning which is definitely unusual. I have a chiropodist appointment later on but that's the height of my travels today. I shall mainly be garden pottering I think, and occasionally sitting in the summer house. I hope you all have a good day.
