Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey but its dry here at the moment here in brackley .
My day yesterday , using bus to Buckingham , and then Bicester after a cafe stop there , before Bicester and another cafe and something to eat , then a shop , and bus back from Bicester which is on its normal timetable.
I think today using public transport with the various changes to revised timetables , lucky I check websites regularly enough for changes .
Sanitsiation seems to be the thing today in shops ,cafes and buses , plus face masks unless your under the COPD banner and have an exemption card .
Today a small local shop ,and stay in and get back into my regular routine properly .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
Hope you manage all your bus changes, Mick, it horrible when you just miss your connection. At least it isn’t cold and windy.
Supermarket day today - another big shop to fill the stores in preparation for the winter siege, so dreaded by DH.
Wash day too. Things will dry in no time.
Getting ready for DD’s visit. We haven’t seen them since early January and she’s not terribly good at keeping in touch. I leave messages but don’t want to seem needy. Need to plan energetic things to do with The girls, 10 & 7.
Tried to book a table in local restaurants for Rishi meals. All fully booked for the next three weeks!
Hope all goes well for Mr gilly today. Marydoll , trust your procedure hasn’t left you too “meugh” and you are taking things easy. Everyone else, be kind to yourselves and enjoy the day.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, the sky looks really grey this morning. We will get a storm I am sure of it.
Work today at the factory and then we are off to Whitby tomorrow for a long weekend.
Haven’t posted for a few days so I do hope everyone is getting in ok.

Take care folks.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. There are dark clouds at the back of the house and lighter brighter ones at the front. There are all moving swiftly.

I’m going to a funeral today. The drive will be slightly out of my comfort zone but that’s a small thing.

I hope you had a lovely day with your daughter Marydoll and took things easy.

A Rishi meal. I thought, what’s that, then it dawned on me ?

Have a good day and stay safe all ?

Urmstongran Wed 05-Aug-20 06:42:31

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s forecast 31°C again ?
At least the air is fresh now those terral winds have gone.

Had a great time yesterday afternoon with my ladies and sensible drinking so no bad head this morning.

Didn’t do a slow cooker yesterday so plan to put chicken, onions and mushrooms in it today whilst I sit under a palm tree in the garden. I need to choose a new book for my Kindle. Other that that it’s a do-nothing day for me.

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning from the NE coast where we had a beautiful sun rise but it’s quite cloudy and very windy again. Yesterday was more like a winters day with high winds and heavy rain pretty much all day and temperatures reaching only 13.5 degrees.

We have yet to have a summer of any kind in these parts . I did my dads big shop straight from work yesterday and got absolutely soaked . I was so tempted to put the heating on last night but decided to go to bed early and read instead . My fuel bills are already through the roof .

An early start for us today as DH has a repeat performance of Monday with a hospital appointment in the city centre for 8.30 am .
At least today I hope he will be seen. I know it’s a bit of “a put out” for the nurses to have to actually see and treat patients in certain departments and I know they are working on a much paired back staffing level (heaven knows why?) but sometimes needs must .
Today I will wait outside the department doors until I know things are going ahead and then I will go to “that place” and await his call . He will be there at least 3-4 hours.

Well that’s today’s excitement .

Thinking about our missing friends dragonfly and BlueSapphire and those who are poorly or under the weather including CherryCezzy and Marydoll who I hope are both feeling a lot better today.

Thinking also of those poor, poor people who have been killed and injured in the huge chemical explosion in Beirut . Seeing the video on line it looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off. So sad.

I hope you have a lovely weekend in Whitby Scentia smile

I wish everyone the best Wednesday possible . Love Gillybob xx

Good morning Mick and All from a windy Worcs.

I’m getting my days muddled this week but if it’s Wednesday (check) it’s new larder fridge delivery day. I’ll get all the frosty contents out of the current one that has been over-frosting and pack it in cool boxes until it can go in it’s new home.

My DD said “Mum you keep getting the days muddled up - do you remember pants I had when I was little, with days of the week on? You need some of those”. She’s so right!

Have a lovely relaxing break in Whitby Scentia, and I hope Marydoll is relaxing too.

Take care everyone ?

Good morning everyone. Overcast in south Cornwall with rain forecast so possibly a trip to the Eden Project with sons and co. At least there you can shelter in the biomes and the children can run around. Hope your day goes better than the other day gillybob and yes, those poor people in Beirut, so tragic. Counting my blessings when all I have is hip pain. A good day to all, wherever possible.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea . I think after today it is going to be hot, hot, hot for a few days.
We went to a local cafe yesterday and our coffee and snacks had 50% off, which I wasn't expecting.
I have an appointment at 10.15 at our local hospital for a blood test. I should of had it in May but they weren't doing any then. DH will drive me there and then find somewhere to wait, hopefully it won't take long.
We are booked into an Indian restaurant this evening for a Rishi meal.
I hope all goes well for your DH today Gilly.
I was also very shocked at the huge explosion in Beirut. My thoughts are with all those who unfortunately died and the many thousands who have been injured.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

Good morning all from a dry and not as hot as it’s been Spain where I’m enjoying the chamberpot while DH mops the floors.....I know, I wouldn’t swap him for the ?!

I’m doing what Urmstongran is doing today.....nuffink! So will share some of our sunshine ? with Gillybob and anyone else who needs it. ? for those unwell and ? for those celebrating something nice!

Hope little Harry’s (?) tests come through quickly Susan56 and all is well - we never stop worrying do we? Children, grandchildren and lord help me if I great grandchildren - my list just gets longer!

A good day for all ?

Good morning all from drizzly start to the day in Glasgow. The rest of today looks set to be another rainy day.

Still various bits and pieces to go to the dump and thankfully our own local recycling is open again and have recently added almost normal visiting times but still have to book a slot to visit.

We are still mostly staying home and choosing when and why if we decide to go out but life can feel so surreal some days and we will stick to the guidelines and get on with it.

I had an adverse reaction and was quite ill after having the flu jab a few years ago so can’t make my mind up whether or not to have one this year to hopefully prevent the supposed flu we both suffered in December.

Nothing pressing on the agenda today except a visit to the post office to send my watch off as opposed to a visit into town for a battery renewal, other than that, more footering and keeping busy.

Hoping today goes smoothly for your DH’s procedure gilly?and also, you are feeling a bit more like yourself today Marydoll and begin to feel the benefit of your treatment soon.

Have a pleasant day all and I hope things start looking up for those going through difficult times.

crazyH Wed 05-Aug-20 07:24:54

Good morning Mick and all. I don't usually come on this thread because I get up too late. But this morning I was worrying about the weeds on my paved drive and trying to work out solutions. I once read about throwing buckets of bleach on the drive. Might seriously consider that. Enjoy the day!

Pittcity Wed 05-Aug-20 07:24:55

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. It's warm though. The cloud is going to burn off and it'll be scorchio by late afternoon.
Walking into town with my deckchair for our Wednesday coffee meetup in the park, socially distanced in groups of 6.
Puzzler, I have a bedside pill box with the days on it.....my equivalent of the pants.

brook2704 Wed 05-Aug-20 07:27:56

Good morning everyone from Inverness where eventually it has stopped raining. Yesterday was a complete washout here too - cool and rainy all day. We did venture out to the park with the DGC with umbrellas and wellies but we all still got wet ☔️ Hopefully a much better day today. At least DD2 is a bit more settled back at work now and things gradually getting back to normal.
Hope today goes ok for your DH gillybob and marydoll is feeling a bit better too
Enjoy your long weekend scentia - I think the weather is due to get better!
Hope everyone finds something good to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Wed 05-Aug-20 07:31:49

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk coast. A bit breezy but I don’t mind that.

Yes let’s count our blessings. I know it isn’t easy to, when things are piling up against us.

Hope all goes well today Gillybob. You’re such a strong lady. ?

Those pants seem like a good idea Puzzler I could do with a set. ?

I thought the Rishi restaurants would get fully booked quickly, I’m in no hurry to eat out, so I’m glad these eateries are doing well.

Not much on today. I will finish my book club book. ‘I am, I am , I am by Maggie O’Farrell. It about 17 brushes with death. Makes you realise how close we come sometimes and life is really a lottery. ?

Have as good a day as possible. Hope Marydoll is feeling a little brighter. ?

Puzzler61 Wed 05-Aug-20 07:40:35

Just caught up with world news - truly devastating story and pictures coming from Beirut! Thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

NannyJan53 Wed 05-Aug-20 07:47:23

Good Morning from a dull and cloudy yesterday.

Lots of walking yesterday. A walk with DD and the girls round their village, through the woods and fields. That was about 3 miles. Then to Mums and a walk with her along the Staffordshire railway walk and back via canal. Then the same walk with an ex-colleague in the evening. I had clocked up almost 30,000 steps.

So a relaxing day at home today I think. Still not brave enough to go to cafes for pubs for meals out yet, and still not been to the hairdressers. I have deferred my gym membership until December.

Hoping all goes well for Mr Gilly and that Marydoll is feeling a lot better

Urmstongran Wed 05-Aug-20 07:54:50

I’m off to the hair salon here on Friday NannyJan. My first appointment since lockdown. My roots desperately need doing - I’ve got two-tone hair!

Grandmabatty Wed 05-Aug-20 07:55:47

Good morning All. It's cool and grey here in Polmont but that's infinitely better than yesterday which was rain, rain and more rain. Locally we had some flooding and trains were cancelled. After two full on days of babysitting, today I'm doing very little. I have a pot of raspberry jam to deliver to an old friend and he has promised shortbread in return. Then I'll visit mum for an hour. Then this afternoon I have a video chat. I hope Mr Gillybob has a better hospital visit today. I agree about counting blessings when you see that terrible explosion in Beirut. I hope you all have a good day.

Greyduster Wed 05-Aug-20 08:05:08

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A grey South Yorkshire day today. A last minute bits and pieces day as we are packing to go away for a few days holiday and will, if the alarm goes off, get a flying start tomorrow so I will miss the good morning thread. I hate travelling these days so I’m not looking forward to it as much as I should be! Have a good safe day folks.

Grammaretto Wed 05-Aug-20 08:06:26

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It isn't raining!
There were a few ceiling drips yesterday so there's a loose slate or two.
What horrific news from Beirut. It puts our worries into perspective.
Hope all the poorly ones are feeling a bit better today. This includes DH.
xxx

Greyduster Wed 05-Aug-20 08:06:31

Fingers crossed for Mr Gb today??.

Marydoll Wed 05-Aug-20 08:07:10

Good morning all from yet another miserable day in Glasgow.
It's good to hear everyone's plans. Although shielding has been paused for others, for the moment, I have to generally behave as if I still am, as I'm immunosuppressed due to my new treatment, so I'm confined to barracks for now.

Yesterday, DD worked in our dining room, while I stayed in bed, unusually for me. I was totally wiped out. It was as if she had never been away. I had forgotten how messy she could be. My usually tidy lounge, looked as if it had been hit by a tornado. ?️??

I'm usually very good at hiding how rubbish I'm feeling, but yesterday, I just couldn't do it. I think DD got a bit of a shock.☹️. It was nice to be fussed over, including bringing me a bag of my favourite fudge. I have eaten the lot!!! ?

After DD went home at lunchtime, I decided to stop wallowing and do something to keep my mind off things. My sewing machine hasn't been working properly for ages, so after watching a few You Tube videos, I got DH to loosen the screws and I stripped it down to have a look.
It is working a treat now! I have a new career, a sewing machine engineer! ?

I hope Mr Gillybob's procedure goes well, and any of our virtual friends who have appointments today or are struggling. Grammaretto's DH isn't too well either, hoping he is a bit better today.
Sending hugs to our missing regulars.
Enjoy your day, the best you can.
If you have any sun, could you please send some up here! ☀️??

BladeAnnie Wed 05-Aug-20 08:48:40

Good morning all from a dull and breezy mid-Notts. I'm hoping any rain holds off until later as I'm meeting my friend of many years for an outdoor socially distanced coffee - the travel cup comes back into use!! Apart from my hospital appointment last week, this is my first outing since March. My first drive too and since my ankle fusion have become quite a nervous driver - both of cars are automatic so I can manage fine but have moments of self doubt. I remember my daughters having pants with days of the week on and I think socks too - no mixing up the days then!! Such terrible news from Beirut - it does make you think how fragile life really is and puts things into perspective a bit. Hope everyone has the best day possible and please stay safe x

Anniebach Wed 05-Aug-20 08:52:02

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
