Rufus2 you can always make me smile. Its been warm but not overly hot here in Polmont for the last two days so that's been nice for a change. I've been gently pottering in the garden and painting. Tomorrow it's back to babysitting. Take care x

Not too much to report this evening; another “bad day” for VIC, and now there is talk of staging the football “Grand Final” in October outside Victoria; Brisbane in fact. The first time ever! sad
Yesterday’s new cases still around the 400+ mark, but deaths rose to 13.
Our Zoom meeting went off OK this morning. A baker’s dozen of us including the host (lady) and two Gents!. I’m always surprised at the lack of manly interest in such get-togethers; just the same as Gransnet. They don’t know what they’re missing!
Michael P. and Chris Tarrant must be in some sort of competition; both were in Vietnam last week, (although not at the same time, obviously). Yesterday Michael was riding Irish rails. They are both very interesting, but I prefer Chris T’s style as being a bit more down-to-earth.

More nostalgia this evening finding a video clip of Shirley Bassey with “Feelings! “Whoa Oh Oh Oh Feelings”!
My word, she had a lovely pair of lungs then and really gave it lots of feeling. wink
How are you coping with Summer? We had TV News pictures of sweltering crowds on beaches at Boscombe and Sarfend as well as in their cars trying to get somewhere!
Melbourne streets are ghostlike in the evening due to the curfew and Stage 4 restrictions. No 2 Son couldn’t get me something from Bunnings today; not allowed inside the premises, although he was allowed to pay for it. Although it’s in stock it becomes “click and collect” and will be available in 4 to 5 days.!

Neighbour was carted off to hospital a couple of days ago; had his gall bladder removed and back home a couple of days later!
Best way these days. hmm

Trying to finish with a smile, courtesy of “The Oldie”;

“Miss Barnett had a dog called Bobby. She always put him out for a moment last thing at night for his ritual pee.
One night, she'd been in town with some friends and had had a few drinks. She came back and popped Bobby out in the garden. She fell asleep on the sofa, woke up and found that he hadn't come back.
So she went out into the garden and there he was, to put it delicately, making love with another local dog.
She tried to stop him with a bucket of water, and then with a broom.
So she rang up the vet, not knowing it was still the middle of the night and told him all that had been happening.
The vet said, 'Bring Bobby to the phone.'
'Will that stop him?' Miss Barnett asked.
'Well, it's just stopped me,' said the vet."
