What words would you change in an advert?

Just for fun.
Mine would be ‘black currants are my paint, well you will have a lot of wasps on your wall then!’

What words on what advert you would change?

Sorry Bluebellwould, I must be dense, ? but I don't really understand this. Could you please elaborate?

Mine would be the one for formula baby milk, it says "should you choose to move on" (from breastfeeding), I'm sure we all "choose to move on" at some point - my youngest is 31 and 6 feet 5 inches tall, there would be something seriously disturbing going on if I hadn't moved on shock

A million housewives every day, pick up a tin of beans and say ‘Beans means Farts’
I don’t watch TV adverts any more so it’s an old one.

Hi Marydoll, sometime when I watch adverts I feel a sarcastic response coming over me. So I just wondered if anyone else does. My advert was the Ribena advert and the wimpy stupid man saying what I put and my sarcastic response.

Oopsminty Sun 09-Aug-20 22:15:43

I like that chap with his Ribena. He looks so funny when the girl calls over to him.

Coca Cola .. It's the Unreal Thing

Marydoll Sun 09-Aug-20 22:15:43

Thanks. I've never seen that advert, that's why it didn't make sense! grin blush

Anything that says "New and Improved"..... because it's generally not.

infoman Mon 10-Aug-20 06:42:36

Tomorrow

In the spoken or written word.

sodapop Mon 10-Aug-20 08:27:58

Definitely Chewbacca makes me think the original product was not very good.

Shelmiss Mon 10-Aug-20 09:33:38

Because you’re......being taken in by all the vacuous celebs who advertise these products and don’t actually use them themselves.

Shelmiss, too true. Because...... You need even more beauty stuff.
Every week there is a new improved mascara. A new moisturiser. It's endless.

This has been mentioned on an other thread, but the advert for coffee bags that says they are a new thing annoys me.
I used to buy coffee bags in Marks back in the seventies, that's how new they are.

Kate1949 Mon 10-Aug-20 09:57:45

Oh yes maytime that's very annoying. I too was buying coffee bags in the '70s.

Calendargirl Mon 10-Aug-20 11:01:20

The maddening woman doing exercise, then saying, “How do I keep my mouth healthy?”

I feel like saying, “No idea, just keep it shut please!”

BlueSky Mon 10-Aug-20 11:18:44

Yes like Jane Fonda's Age Perfect cream, truly amazing! wink I bought one pot but obviously to look like her, I need to buy the factory! grin

DiscoGran Mon 10-Aug-20 12:46:39

And a face-lift. No normal woman has a jawline that tight at her age.

Mapleleaf Mon 10-Aug-20 15:45:38

The coffee bags advert annoys me, too. They’ve been around for ages - not a new idea at all. ?
