Good morning Mick and all to come.
I hope I can grab another 40 winks as it has been an awful night.
Late yesterday evening I heard that travellers had moved into a field next to our village nursery and already odd characters had been seen trying car door handles in the street nearby. While I was out with Hattie I saw a strange white LandRover type of car driving around very slowly so when I got home I felt obliged to go round checking all the windows were locked, garden gate, garage etc and nothing left out which might “walk”
Of course Hattie chose last night to want out at 1.30 and eventually zoomed in very excited -a cat? or something else she had heard? And what with that, and sleeping with the windows shut (and locked) I have woken up with a splitting headache after a night of bad dreams. Perhaps I should not be so suspicious but security in our sleepy village is rarely a problem. Of course all is well this morning - except my head!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a grey E Kent.
Very busy today - almost back to normal!
First thing is a zoom service for DD who is being licensed as Dean of Women’s Ministry. So proud.
Tai chi as usual. We have been meeting on the grass when we were allowed to. Today, we’re allowed back in the hall. You wouldn’t believe the list of things dis/allowed. The onus of cleaning falls squarely on the shoulders of the hirer, which seems odd. Coffee and chat afterwards. What a lovely group of ladies. We are very close without being BFs.
Supermarket in the afternoon.
DH’s sister called yesterday. They haven’t been in touch since she told DH that she never wanted to speak to him again! At the beginning of lockdown, my dear sweet DH decided to telephone “just in case. She was delighted. I can’t stand her but have always been polite. Yesterday, she accused me of not understanding that she didn’t have time to waste in her life with the likes of CV19. I wouldn’t understand as I was “far too young”. She’s only 5 years older!!! I didn’t say anything.
Hope you’re feeling OK Mary. What have you decided regarding the injections? Are the side effects worth it?
Hope everyone has a gentle peaceful day. Stay safe.

Good morning from a damp Morecambe Bay. Taking the car for its annual service and MoT first thing then hopefully it will be dry enough to cut everyone’s grass and weed the church garden. We have been asked to clear and clean the inside of the car before dropping it off. That’s the only bonus of the service normally, that the car comes back clean! Strange times! Will catch up later. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Pantglas2 Tue 08-Sep-20 06:53:38

Morning all from a dry and lightening by the minute Spain where I’m savouring the chamberpot ☕️!

Nothing planned for today but will make rabbit stifado in the slow cooker for dinner this evening along with veggies and garlic mashed potatoes! Peach and raspberry crumble and a dollop of Greek yogurt for pud!

Having to plan meals now as we’re flying back to Wales ??????? next week and I need to deplete the freezer before defrosting - there will be some interesting food combos dished up for DHs delectation!

Have a good day everyone x

G'Day all from a dreary, wet but mild Melbourne.
Thank you for the welcomes I got yesterday.

Another day of harsh lockdown was somewhat eased for me by going out to buy bulk meat for the dog. We are supposed to stay within a 5 kilometre radius of home but I exceeded that today albeit within the rules as it is the nearest supplier.
Some of our other restrictions are
1 person from the home can go shopping for essentials,
we can go out for an hour of exercise (will be 2 hours after Sunday) per day. Only 2 people can excercise together
We have a curfew between 8pm and 5 am (will be 9pm and 5am from Sunday)
We are not able to have anyone come into our homes except for essential or urgent repairs. No family that does not live in the home are allowed
Masks are mandatory when outside the home
Schools are remote learning but will return to classroom learning in stages after October 5th.
Business has pretty much all shut down or have very restrictive conditions under which they are operating, most will not be able to open again until the end of November
Retail is limited to food stores, petrol stations and pharmacies.

Apparently these are the harshest restrictions in the world and I am just a little cynical that the powers that be are enjoying the power they have in controlling our lives.

I bought a new car in May and so far I have used one tank of fuel and managed to do 800 kilometres.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Beechnut Tue 08-Sep-20 07:04:19

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry with a lot of grey clouds.

I’ve made myself a chamber pot this morning and have the usual Tuesday homeworking ahead of me.

I wasn’t asked to do anything with my car Gelisajams when I took it for its MOT. I wonder if I will have to for the service in a couple of months. I did chuck out the sweet wrappers before I went though.

Enjoy your day all and take care if you’ve worries or decisions to make ?

Urmstongran Tue 08-Sep-20 07:05:51

Good morning everyone from Malaga where I’m bright-eyed and bushy tailed! No sun yet. The mornings are cooler now September is here but the forecast is sun again today ?

It’s Tuesday = my ladies ‘who wine’. Yay! Note to self - be sensible this afternoon. The lady who flew out here on Sunday teatime is joining us. It was lovely to have a little chat with her in the gardens yesterday. She had just come down for a swim. I liked her swimsuit.

I’ve got beef, onions and peppers to put in the slow cooker for the 3 of us later. Easy peasy.

Himself is just heading out of the door for his walk. I shall read the newspapers on line here, on the balcony with my cuppa.

Hope Tuesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Scentia Tue 08-Sep-20 07:08:23

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, it is grey but warm out there today.
DD and family are off on holiday today so I will miss my Wednesday meet up tomorrow, we popped in last night so I could get my fix! Left my coat and house keys there, good job I have a key to her house to feed the cats so I can get it tomorrow.
Today I am at the factory and we have little to do at the moment, business did pick up for a few weeks but it is back to lockdown levels again now. I am not sure why that is and we are glad of my part time job at the moment.
Hope Gilly is feeling like smiling whilst she is having a GN break.
Remember all of you, give the next person you see a big smile and a hello, it WILL make the world a happier place if we all just did that???

Scentia Tue 08-Sep-20 07:12:25

My goodness Spice. That is very strict it must be hard to follow all of those rules.

mumofmadboys Tue 08-Sep-20 07:23:27

Good morning from near Glencoe. We are 3/4 of the way through the West Highland Way. Stunning scenery. Deer wandering around outside hotel. We are staying at Kingshouse overnight a beautiful hotel in an isolated spot. Have walked 72 miles and have 24 to go. Has been a fantastic experience. Have a good day all. Thinking of Marydoll and Gillybob especially. Keep safe all. Worrying news about rises in the virus again.

kittylester Tue 08-Sep-20 07:24:00

Morning all from a grey North Leicestershire.

Dh is volunteer driving early this morning so I'm up too. confused I hope to achieve more today than yesterday. Yesterday I spent a lot of time trying to find chairs and lighting to finish the lounge. We only started this project in January. Every fabric I choose for the chairs is either on back order or out of stock. Delivery is 13 weeks anyway.

Best wishes to everyone - especially marydoll and gilly.

Nannytopsy Tue 08-Sep-20 07:27:15

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Spice I hope your Covid numbers are going down, then you will feel the lockdown has been worth it. DH & I are a bit concerned at the way they are going up here.
Several weeks ago DiL mentioned a night when she and DS were both at work and asked if we could have DGC but nothing more was said. It seems it is tonight! We have a guest arriving this afternoon, so a quick change of menu! Getting up very shortly to get things sorted.
Maw we have had situations like that and it can be unnerving. A nap this afternoon perhaps?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Spice101 Tue 08-Sep-20 07:27:51

It is indeed Scentia. Although these are by far the harshest restrictions we have been living with some restrictions since mid March. Early days were not too bad as I was recovering from surgery so limited in what I could do but it is rather tiresome now.
Unfortunately we are now in this situation because the State Government stuffed up the management of the quarantine situation.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Sep-20 07:29:30

Good morning Mick and all

It’s grey here in S E Essex, childcare starts in earnest from today 3 days looking after the 8month old and school pick up for the 5 year old every tues/wed/thurs. The playpen is assembled, I think I am organised ?

Oh MawB2 I suggest a lazy day, so that you can recover.

Sending ((hugs)) to gillybob and all our missing Goodmorning friends.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Susan56 Tue 08-Sep-20 07:33:03

Good morning from Shropshire.

I am going to Cheshire Oaks today to hopefully buy some birthday presents although if it is too busy I could just drive there and back home again!

Have a good day all.

Morming everyone, cool and overcast here in south Cornwall. Farmers' market across the road this morning including a stall selling succulents for £1, which I shall enjoy! Every day is a battle with double hip pain now, restricts all I do, yet there is so much worse happening to others, I know. I feel for you in your lockdown measures Spice. What an amazing happy day for your daughter grandMattie. The best of everything possible for the rest of you today.

Gingster Tue 08-Sep-20 07:43:59

Good morning from a grey but warm Essex.

Had quite a productive day yesterday -.we spent a couple of hours getting our finances, paperwork, insurances etc in order. I need to know where everything is as DH does all this sort of thing. We couldn’t remember where our Wills are kept but had a drive to another town and knocked on the door of a solicitor and Bingo they have them. We will get copies for ourselves. DH says house deeds are now kept at the Land Registry. Is this correct? It’s all such a worry and I don’t want our AC to struggle to locate all the necessaries when we are gone. Any tips from you ‘oh wise ones’ ??

We have the man coming this afternoon to repair my oven, which let me down on Sunday lunchtime. ?

Looking after little GD6 this morning while her mum works. She started school yesterday but afternoons only for 2 weeks. She loves it.

Going to meet my Bridge Club pals this afternoon but , of course can’t play. We will sit on the field with our mini picnics and have a good old natter. Goodness know when we will be able to actually play again, as it’s at quite close quarters.

Pantglas your lovely time away In Spain has gone so quickly!. 10 weeks wasn’t it? Enjoy your last few days. ?

Spice what a very strict regime for you to stick to. Hopefully it works out well for you.

Maw very unsettling for you. Travellers are a law unto themselves. We have had a truck parked opposite our house since Friday. It’s full of rubbish and halfed parked up on the pavement . We have restrictions on the road but if course no parking attendant has been near or by. Several of us have reported it. Nothing done as yet.

We had our car MOT’d and serviced last week. We weren’t given any instructions though.

Wishing you a peaceful , and painfree day . ?

brook2704 Tue 08-Sep-20 07:48:37

Good morning everyone from a bright dry Inverness with the sun just peeping through. It’s quite warm too so making the most of this lovely autumn weather.
An online dance exercise class this morning then I’m meeting my friend later for a coffee and a catch up so that’ll take most of the afternoon ?. DH will be out most of the day at DD2s house helping in the garden.
Hope you’re managing ok spice with that tough lockdown!
Well done so far on your trip momb the scenery around the Kingshouse is magical - enjoy every minute!
Hope things settle down for you MawB2 and enjoy your Tai Chi grandmattie
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Tue 08-Sep-20 08:01:14

Delivery is 13 weeks anyway
Just in time for Christmas kitty!

Taichinan Tue 08-Sep-20 08:02:58

Good morning all from the Angus coast. The sky is grey looking to the north but much brighter to the west so I hope west wins! Spice your lockdown is exactly what we had at the beginning, back in March. We didn't have a curfew though, but the restrictions themselves acted as a curfew. Harsh times. I'm sure you're as safe as houses, MawB, but nighttime can be scary and troubles loom larger then. I hope you're sound asleep now in the safety of daylight I'm off to get my hair cut again today, and then to meet up with my niece and her family - my Greats and Great-greats. It will be a lovely catch-up as I haven't seen them since February. Yesterday I did a marathon on the phone with my tai chi people getting the new classes arranged - just a few more to go, and we're sorted! Alegrias (I hope I've remembered your name correctly!) it's changed times - I didn't know St A had tour guides - what a marvellous job! There's so much history there. Now must be off and get this show on the road. Have the best day everyone. Scentia.you've put a new persistent song in my head - "Smile though your heart is breaking". My heart isn't doing that, but I shall smile anyway! And finally I hope Gillybob enjoys her GN rest. ??? to all

NanKate Tue 08-Sep-20 08:04:15

Morning Mick and All.

Back home in South Bucks after a lovely short break in the tiny City of Wells.

Need to sort the washing (how can 2 people make so much) refill the fridge and generally get back to normal.

Hope Gilly feels able to return to us soon ?

Marydoll Tue 08-Sep-20 08:04:25

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, with a little sun poking through the clouds.

Maw, what a worrying night for you. ? Especially after the anxiety I caused you yesterday.

We live on the border of three counties and now the third one, Renfrewshire has been put on lockdown restrictions.
Two of my daughter's colleagues have tested positive, it's all very concerning.

I managed my jab without any problem yesterday, practice make perfect! . It went downhill after that!!?
I felt unwell all day and extremely grumpy, but the worst was the nightmares last night. They involved people from GN, whom I've never met, you are a horrible lot!!? ?
Everyone was so angry with me in the dream.

I think it was due to the fact that in me deleting some PMs yesterday, other users in a group chat, had them also deleted, without ever getting to read them. Full story in a separate thread.
I'm absolutely horrified and embarrassed that I have upset people. ?

I have decided to wait until I see my new consultant in October to discuss the poor quality of life I have at the moment and perhaps stopping the injections.
My appointment has been cancelled three times due to Covid, they don't really want the vulnerable RA patients at the clinics if possible. Into the bargain, my consultant has been working in Covid ICU. So it's a matter of persevering for the moment.

My warmest good wishes to to to Gilly, who is not having it easy just now.? and to all those struggling. Why do some people always get the short straw in lif?

Oh, this is quite a draggingdown post, it's not meant to be.
The sun has just come out, all is well.☀️

grandMattie Tue 08-Sep-20 08:05:18

Yes, Ging, there are no more actual paper deeds. The registration is kept at the Land Registry.

Stilllearning Tue 08-Sep-20 08:06:51

Morning everyone from a dark skyed S Lanarkshire but a beautiful sun breaking through to the east, I hope we get some of that. Hopefully a walk today with DD2. I hope today is not too difficult for you Marydoll, you wouldn’t know from your usual posts how rotten you have been feeling, very brave. I’ve been thinking too about your neighbour Urmstongran, these days must be so challenging for her, lovely that she has a support group there, women are so good at that aren’t they? I hope your ‘ladies who drink’ afternoon is your usual fun!
