Good Morning Everyone,
Again a twilight start but its dry and windy usual shop this morning .
Do a few other things later , before settling down to watch the cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from E Kent. As the sun hasn’t risen yet, it hasn’t decided what it’ll be - clear I think.
Made about 8kg of mincemeat yesterday. I forget that, although it is a quick cook, the preparation takes forever. At least, I shall have plenty for the next 12 months.
Change of beds today. Not sure I’ll be able to hang the sheets out as the scaffolding is in the way. They’ve nearly finished and it looks wonderful.
I hope those who are unwell or unhappy find a way to have a better day. Stay safe.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s cloudy with a pink sky to the east and dry.

My weekly shop this morning. Afterwards I’ll go into town for an errand then back home for a pottering day.

I hope you all have the best day you can ?

Good morning Mick and all from a from a dark and nippy Glasgow. The heating is on.
I'm hoping today's weather will be as pleasant as yesterday's.
DH is off golfing, so a bit of quiet time. He doesn't say much anyway, so no difference there.

For the first Friday in months, I have no Tesco online delivery, so I may take myself out early to the big orange shop. This will be my last outing for a while.
As we remain a Covid hotspot, I intend to stay at home and safe.

I received a letter yesterday, cancelling my October RA clinic appointment for the fourth time and offering a telephone consultation with my retired consultant. My consultant retired nearly a year ago, but I have never met my new one yet, as he continues to work in Covid ICU.
This makes me wonder if another wave is predicted, as my GP was also reluctant to have me in the surgery.
I'm perversely pleased about the cancellation, as it means no early rise and travelling across Glasgow in rush hour. My consultant knows me so well and goes above and beyond to support me.

Thinking of all our absent friends and particularly our Gilly. I know she reads the thread, so knows we care for her.
Hazbeen, I hope the side effects of your treatment are lessening. It can be so debilitating.? No comparison to yours, but mine has caused me to have coughed all night. Not only am I exhausted, poor DH was kept awake too! ☹️
Have the best day you can, everyone.

Morning everyone from a darkish south Cornwall. Virtually sleepless night so was out on my patio swing seat at 5am bundled in a fleece, looking up at the stars. Considering I'm in a town centre they were the brightest I've ever seen them, and there were hundreds I don't usually see from here. Then the gulls started up. It was magical.

Another day of quiet sewing; 4 year old's throw nearly finished! Plus an Argos delivery this afternoon - I love that they send me a text: 'Your delivery driver Stephen is 4 minutes away.' As I have no obvious front door it's a perfect delivery system!

The best of everything to you all today, especially where there are struggles.

Good morning all from a greyer breezy S Hants, flu jab yesterday and library.
Today is bathrooms cleaning and this afternoon the man revising our wills is garden visiting for signing, this involves husband nipping back from work and friend (who’ll have to be reminded) popping in as a witness. We’re organised prepaid funerals at the same time, got to be done, price is then fixed. On a more cheerful note, Friday is local pub night, so a catch up on the village goings on, the weather has been fine for weeks, so it’s all outside, winter presents more issues.
I hope you all have a quiet day and those struggling find some respite too. X

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is dry. Hopefully a pleasant day weather wise as I am meeting a friend today in the Dales.
We replaced the leisure battery on the camper yesterday but it has not solved the problem. Will take the battery back and hopefully get a refund. We will have to visit an auto electrician as both mine and DH’s ability to fault find is now exhausted! We did have the original battery checked and was told it was ok but DH insisted it had to be the problem!
Rumours have appeared overnight that we heading for a short sharp lockdown. I do hope not. We are ultra careful as it is but I don’t like losing the choice.
In the meantime take care and stay safe everyone ?

Morning all from a somewhat cloudy North Leicestershire.

Sadly, DD2's mil died in the early hours so yesterday was a funny day supporting dd from a distance as she supported our lovely son in law. His mum only went into hospital on Sunday having breathing difficulties.

Sending love to everyone especially our gilly.

Morning Mick and All.

Another apricot sunrise in South Bucks.

DH is setting off for a Boys’ Weekend (at their home) with DS and DGSs today back on Monday. He does this once or twice a year and they all seem to enjoy it. I enjoy not cooking and just going with the flow, which includes watching a lot of tennis and eating breakfast in bed. Decadence personified! However by Monday morning I am looking fwd to the return if DH and catching up with all the news.

If you are reading the GM thread Gilly we miss you and send our love ?

Good Morning from a bright and hopefully sunny later Black Country,

Arrived home from our trip to Forest of Dean and Somerset yesterday afternoon. We were originally booked to come home Monday this week, but the weather was so good we extended the stay. No Wifi on site unless you paid! Hence I didn't post whilst away.

We visited many lovely places, the photo is of Porlock Weir which we visited on a gloriously sunny day, and walked the coastal path to the church at Colbone, which is apparently the smallest remaining church in England, seating only 30.

Main plans today are washing and cutting the lawn which has grown considerably in our 10 days away. It is lovely to go away, but equally lovely to be home.

Wishing you all a lovely day, with special thoughts and hugs to gilly

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea .
Condolences Kitty and family flowers.
Nothing planned today. We will probably go out later for coffee and I need a few bits from a local supermarket that I couldn't get yesterday.
I've started a new jigsaw a picture of an 'old fashioned St. Pancras Station'and I found a cross Stitch kit that I started years ago. Very therapeutic when watching the tv.
Thinking of all poorly or sad grans flowersflowers.
Have the best Friday you can and stay safe xx

Good morning from a lovely sunny Torbay,
The weather has been wonderful this week and I am lucky to live in this beautiful part of the world.
Just pottering for me today, hope we don’t have another lockdown as daughter is due surgery in a couple of weeks and I am travelling to Cheshire to look after her post op.
Wishing good things to all ?

Good morning Mick and all

Sunny here and it’s going to be warm. We have GS8 today, he is the youngest and probably our last and at nearly nine months old he is crawling so fast and starting to pull himself up (we have got a playpen) . I shall go to the gym for my PiYo class and leave GrandpaGravy in charge for a while ?

My arm is sore from flu vaccination yesterday, but it’s done and dusted for a year. Infection numbers are rising and I am getting concerned.

I do hope that your Friday Girl will return soon Gillybob you are a much loved poster and very much missed ???

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

NannyJan53 Fri 18-Sep-20 07:45:00

Gingster Fri 18-Sep-20 07:52:04

Good morning allit looks quite bright out there with a little chill in the air.

Little pooch has to go to the vets for x rays on her leg as she’s limping intermittently. Poor little mite , she trembles when we get there.

I’m meeting my friend for lunch and plan to go to my DH’s golf club and hopefully sit outside on the patio. Lovely views of the course with a duck pond and dove cott.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day and this who have it, enjoy the beautiful weather. ?

Sark Fri 18-Sep-20 07:56:29

Good Morning from Oxfordshire.
Busy one so far.
Early start to get back from DD where I have stayed a couple of nights because of her terrible headaches.
The Dr has got her an urgent referral to the headache clinic but if it is as bad again as Tuesday night she has to go straight to A and E

Been to Sainsburys, stripped the bed and hung out to dry, curry in slow cooker for the old chap later, quick cup of tea and now off to work phew!

Happy Friday to all and thinking of all with worries

Nannytopsy Fri 18-Sep-20 07:58:43

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Another beautiful day in Suffolk with that hint of Autumn chill.
What sad news for your family Kitty without much time for them to assimilate the diagnosis.

Our local auctioneers have plant sales on Friday morning and the catalogue for this morning has cyclamen, wallflowers and sacks of daffodils which interest me. I shall try not to lift my hand too often. ? Then this afternoon is gardening, once I have reboiled my marrow chutney. It just wouldn’t thicken last night. The marrow did produce a lot of water. Can I swap for a jar of mincemeat once it’s done please, grandMattie?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Grandmafrench Fri 18-Sep-20 07:59:07

Good Morning everyone. So sorry for your family’s loss Kitty.

Very warm ?? Sun not up and at ‘em yet. Wind coming from the East which is damp will make it a bit cooler for dreaded shopping! Also Vet’s appointment for our little hound’s bloods to be checked : early days for his Thyroid meds, must get the levels correct. Fur re-growing and he’s back to his cheekiness, so something good must be happening. DH and I doing the Fast800 diet, in case things get worse this winter. We need to lose some weight and as it gets cooler we can walk more. Lots of fasting involved but we’re not hungry...yet.

Yesterday made some more masks. Not being gloomy or doomy, but our current stock has taken some hard wear and a lot of laundering. I’m thrilled with my new ironing board cover which has fixed the awful design of the board and now prevents water from wetting the clothes and dripping onto the floor! Bet whoever Phillips employed to design it was a total stranger to the sport of ironing!

Rest and heal and feel more positive, all those unwell or struggling. Make it a happy Friday if you can, everyone, whatever your plans. Keep safe!

Hugs ??‍♀️?

Pittcity Fri 18-Sep-20 07:59:09

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Need a cardi now but still no rain.
Only one bed to change this week and more reorganising of arrangements that have already been changed several times.....Covid can take a long walk off a short pier!

Urmstongran Fri 18-Sep-20 08:01:28

Good morning everyone from Malaga where the sunglasses aren’t needed today s we have heavy rain ☔️

Unsurprisingly we have no plans to go out. I shall continue reading my novel ‘Shuggie Bains’ set in Glasgow during the Thatcher years. I’m racing through it but have felt emotional at times it is so well written.

Just weighed myself and I’ve lost 5lbs. Yay! Today is Day 9 without alcohol. I will stay off the stuff for a while (even though I love it) as I’d like to lose more poundage! Actually my sleeping pattern is so much better too. I look forward to my bed, knowing I’m going to sleep soundly for 9 hours.

It’s nice to know you’re reading our posts gillybob but we’d much rather have you back as we miss you very much.

The klaxon has just sounded as it’s 9am here and the school is open! It will sound again at 2pm when it’s finished for the day - it always makes me smile to hear it.

Hope Friday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Pantglas2 Fri 18-Sep-20 08:03:38

Morning all from a dry and bright north Wales where I’ve just emptied a different chamberpot.......☕️!

Brilliant (if long...) journey home - plane half empty with a whole row each, train and bus same (and all on time) and a lovely night’s sleep ? at the end ?

So, 14 days quarantine in my little Welsh nest with cupboards and freezer full with a delivery of fresh food tomorrow and a pile o books to enjoy!

Will catch up with all your news but in the meantime, stay safe and hope to see ‘Friday girl’ - it’s been a while x

Urmstongran Fri 18-Sep-20 08:04:44

Xd post GrandmaFrench - funny we both mentioned losing weight this morning!
?
Good luck your way.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Sep-20 08:14:17
