Poor man. Life is so hard when you have to manage on a budget.

did anyone mention, these are unprecedented times...

I presume Carrie is on maternity leave from whatever job she had so why do they need a nanny? Maybe he could make her head of some important government initiative and they’d have 2 big salaries.

Or why not resign, look after the baby and dog while writing his lucrative articles for the Telegraph. Then Carrie could get another highly paid advisory job and everyone is happy.

Funnily enough, I woke up mere minute ago, thinking about Johnson and Carrie (I started typing Boris, and then deleted it as I don't want to be on first name terms).
I'm really intrigued about Carrie and Cummins relationship.
I wonder if they get on?
And then I started to wonder if maybe she was bait or something?
(I know that sounds weird, I can't think of the right expression.)
It seems that Johnson's days as PM may be limited.
He does look a very ill man. He currently looks older than his father.

Ellianne Sun 20-Sep-20 06:43:09

I'm not surprised he can't afford one. At £50k a year plus all sorts of expenses you'd need to be earning around 3 times his salary.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 20-Sep-20 07:02:14

Anyone who can’t live rent free on £150k a year is an idiot.

GagaJo Sun 20-Sep-20 07:22:44

Pithy and to the point WWM.

GagaJo Sun 20-Sep-20 07:24:40

He DOES have a lot of child support to pay.

What happens when you spread your seed promiscuously far and wide AND have a publically traceable address for claimants to send the bills to.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 20-Sep-20 07:26:30

What about the local nursery as all other families do? Then fill in around the gaps.

BlueBelle Sun 20-Sep-20 07:29:45

Oh dear Fanny I read that one wrong your sentence about Carrie and Cummings, I thought you wrote “I wonder if they get it on”

The man is not worth talking about he obviously keeps his brain between his legs it certainly isn’t on the work he’s paid to do

That would cost far more in security detail.

Pantglas2 Sun 20-Sep-20 08:28:24

Why on earth would he be financially supporting the four adult children from his second marriage? Why can’t Carrie pay half for the nanny? Who cares anyway?

And if the child was at school?

No one except he’s made a meal of it.

No matter what you think of the PM himself and the way he handles things, £150k isn't a huge salary for a job that carries so much responsibility - especially when you consider what footballers earn.

mary51 Sun 20-Sep-20 10:07:24

Even the Welsh FM earns more than BJ which doesn't seem right. I dreamt last night that he paid my train fare for me to go up daily to mind baby. Bizarre.

Parsley3 Sun 20-Sep-20 10:07:33

What do we do when our children are struggling financially? We offer practical help. Don’t the Johnson children have grandparents who can help out? They surely won’t want that wee baby to grow up disadvantaged because his parents can’t afford a nanny. It has come to a pretty pass when the PM is letting it be known that he is short of cash.

Furret Sun 20-Sep-20 10:14:21

He wanted the job and knowing his inability to do any research or read around a subject I guess he hadn’t a clue what the wages were.

Rosalyn69 Sun 20-Sep-20 10:16:08

It isn’t a huge salary For a man in his position and much less than he was earning before. I can believe he’s finding it hard.

Alegrias Sun 20-Sep-20 10:22:24

I'll never criticise the salary we pay to politicians in this country, it doesn't seem too much for the responsibility they have.

But surely nobody thinks Johnson's only source of income is his PM salary?

Luckygirl Sun 20-Sep-20 10:24:58

I can believe he is finding it hard - I can't, and nor can the millions of families struggling on benefits or low-paid jobs.

EllanVannin Sun 20-Sep-20 10:25:57

Doris will have to manage like everyone else does !
At last it's hitting home that it's a tough world out there and a sharp bump down to earth to those who were getting money for old rope. It goes for all the high-earners. I've got no sympathy.

25Avalon Sun 20-Sep-20 10:27:57

Really? They won’t have put his name down for Eton then. Ordinary state school for Wilfred.

It is going to get tougher for those on benefits as the Tories are thinking of freezing benefits yet again.
