At the risk of being laughed at - tonight's tv is really good Saturday night, easy watching, rubbish.

I have surprised myself by enjoying the Little Mix 'talent' show and I love The Wall although I cant stop mimicking Danny Dyer's pronunciation of 'the wall'.

Please tell me I'm not the only one just slumping in front of the rubbish tv!

Oh sorry but I think they are both dire programmes? and I can’t watch either but each to their own if you enjoy them that’s good I hope I can troll through and find something end of the week Thursday Friday Saturday lately seem fairly empty although it was pretty crap rubbish I miss Casualty

I’m looking forward to Strictly:The Best of Musicals at 8pm. I really enjoyed the Blackpool highlights last week.
I’m afraid Danny Dyer makes me reach for the remote when he appears on screen so I couldn’t sit through the Wall.

I love the live band and singers in Strictly, and it’s a lovely, uplifting programme. Currently watching yet another repeat of Midsummer Murders!

The last of Jane McDonald's 3 weekend breaks.
Prog. about the Duke of Edinburgh ( The King Without a Crown )----both on CH5, 8-9 and 9-10. That'll do me.

kitty are you a time traveller? "The Wall" isn't on until 9.15???

phoenix Sat 03-Oct-20 19:26:48

BlueBelle missing Casualty here too! The first programme Mr P and I ever watched together when we first started "walking out" in 2001!

I loved the first Series.

phoenix Sat 03-Oct-20 19:34:39

Now, how would you spell Danny Dyers pronunciation?

Wawl?

Oopsminty Sat 03-Oct-20 19:35:29

If you can't find anything you fancy I can highly recommend My Octopus Teacher on Netflix.

Not a title that grabs particularly but I was totally captivated by it.

fevertree Sat 03-Oct-20 19:41:33

Oopsminty I loved My Octopus Teacher, I watched it twice, the second time so I could enjoy the cinematography without having to concentrate on the story. The main (human) character was a senior filmographer on Blue Planet. It is winning awards all over the show (excuse the pun) smile

Blinko Sat 03-Oct-20 19:45:08

Oh and I looked at the listings for tonight and despaired. The trailers for Little Mix looking for band were surely aimed at thirteen year olds. We're not fans of shows like BGT or whatever, nor D.Dyer and The Waw.

What channel is My Octopus Teacher on, please?

Oopsminty Sat 03-Oct-20 19:46:23

It's on Netflix, Blinko

And yes, fevertree, it's a real treat

BlueBelle Sat 03-Oct-20 19:48:35

oppsminty that only works if you have Netflix

phoenix Sat 03-Oct-20 19:50:48

We don't have any tv that requires a subscription or payment, apart from Amazon which is part of our prime.

So no Sky, Netflix etc.

Would have liked to see Spitting Image though!

Oopsminty Sat 03-Oct-20 19:51:21

Well yes, Bluebelle!

But I know a few people on GN have it so I just thought I'd mention it

I've seen Spitting Image, phoenix

In my opinion you're not missing much.

It's OK but that's about it!

Blinko Sat 03-Oct-20 19:53:04

Thanks, OopsMinty. Malheureusement, we don't have Netflix.

sodapop Sat 03-Oct-20 20:01:30

Pretty dire tonight, I miss Casualty as well. I've got GN and a new book to start so that will do me.

BlueSky Sat 03-Oct-20 20:04:37

Enjoy watching Jane McDonald too, she’s so cheerful it’s a pleasure watching her programmes. Followed by King without a crown about prince Philip. Same choice as you Ellan! Must go! brew

Grannynannywanny Sat 03-Oct-20 20:05:43

A tip for free access to Netflix. I’m not tech savvy enough to explain how to do this but hopefully there might be someone in your family who can. My son who lives 130 miles away has Netflix and my tv is signed in to his account. If you have a relative or friend who has Netflix they may be able to include you.

phoenix Sat 03-Oct-20 20:19:18

Oh Blinko one of my favourite French words! Malheureusement!

cornergran Sat 03-Oct-20 20:28:26

Another one here mixing Casualty. We’ve been watching Silent Witness from the beginning on iPlayer. So long ago we recall not a thing. hmm.

tanith Sat 03-Oct-20 20:30:35

I despair of finding anything that appeals, so I reading with BGT on in the background I too miss casualty.

Calendargirl Sat 03-Oct-20 20:31:27

I watched the last part of a Midsomer Murder that I have seen several times before so knew ‘whodunnit’. Then an interesting programme about Venice with the dishy Francesco da Mosto.
Now watching Joni Mitchell on Sounds of the Sixties.
At 9 I shall also watch the Prince Philip programme.

Saturday is pretty poor, don’t want to watch re hashes of Strictly, no interest in BGT or similar.

Wish Drama put the old Miss Marples on a Saturday.
