Good Evening Sunday

A very tired nurse walks into a bank, totally exhausted after an 18-hour shift.
Preparing to write a cheque, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her purse and tries to write with it.
When she realizes her mistake, she looks at the flabbergasted teller, and without missing a beat, she says:
'Well, that's great . . . that's just great . . . Some arsehole's got my pen

Good Evening; Here we are in “Summertime” and its going to pour down tonight. Today has been warm 28C, and muggy, but tomorrow only 14C max.! I’m hoping for a thunderstorm; conditions are just about right.

New cases up slightly again yesterday, but even though the number goes up a bit each day, a “moving average” is reported as going down and is “on track”
I’m lost! “Old Maths” must be obsolete.

You’re obviously all “with it” and aware that we are now 10 hours ahead.! Until the end of the month, that is, when you go backwards! Thankfully some of the electronic devices do it themselves, but others are a pain!

I wonder if this Covid thing is beginning to have some effect on GN messaging!? Not surprising if it is, but several threads start up and then peter out just when a healthy debate seems promising, for no apparent reason. Nothing like a bit of an argument to shake things up! wink

Our Zoom meeting this morning was very civilised as usual, 13 ladies, 2 gents; maybe the key is the ability to see “body language” which is always very good, I hasten to add, and helps to avoid any misunderstandings! smile

Must go!

Hi Rufus, still wet and windy, (there’s a few jokes there)! Our cases have risen, but apparently a ‘technical issue’ caused it, good grief. We’ve got bandanas to pull up for masking now, don’t steam the glasses and keep your neck warm. Agree with your comment on posts petering out, also ones when the OP never returns, annoying.
Wrong weather for allotmenting, so watching football in the warm.
Take care

Strangely clammy and humid here today after 24 hours of continuous rain. More forecast for later in the week too. Och! We're off 'up north' to a lovely little hotel on a loch. Even if it does pour with rain we'll have a change of view and good food.
Active Covid numbers in Glasgow are sky high. God knows why it's not been locked down.

HelloRufus
I think the UK will float away soon , after everyone moaning about the heat a few weeks ago al change now, we’re are having he heating on now and then and staying in in case we shrink (although that might be good!)
Now got the NHS App on my phone but don’t really understand it?I think I’ve mentioned before my dinosaur feet are firmly stuck in the mud.
I think you are right about GN petering out at times, must admit I find some of them tedious and rarely post now.
cheers????????

Hi Rufus2 it was horrible and wet earlier but there's a light breeze now and beautiful blue skies. I've been food shopping this morning and have put a steak in Guinness casserole in the oven for later. I also bought fresh figs so I'll roast them with honey for pud. I'm glad your numbers are falling, unfortunately ours are rising still. We are not allowed in other households at the moment. I'm off to make banana bread. Take care.

Evening Rufus, Its rainy and windy today. I have just got back from a journey that takes me 35 minutes to drive normally, but took over 2 hours today, roadworks, a accident and diverted traffic, I had the lot.
Seeing my daughter and Grandson made it worth it though.

Good evening, rain and wind has eased here in Dorset. Had a chilled day today just doing odd jobs around the house. Me and hubby then went out for a socially distanced dinner with two friends. Now sat down watching Top Gear with a cup of tea and desperately trying not to doze off.
