Good Morning everyone. It’s dark and dry on Severnside this morning.

Grocery shopping and bank this morning then back home to put the washing machine on. Perhaps have a sort out later or go out into the garden.

Good morning from a still dark E Kent. We are promised a grey day. Yesterday was supposed to be sunny, but it rained quite a bit.
I got more pansies at the market yesterday, 20 plants for £3! Planted them in the raised planter which is empty at the moment. The yellow and apricot should look bright in the dark winter days to come.
PC man did you annual checkup remotely yesterday. Isn’t technology amazing? Getting new Word programme next week. I wonder how I’ll get on with it.
DS1 is much relieved. His CV19 test came back negative... so he van send a certificate to the Indian authorities and avoid the obligatory isolation in a government hostel. So he definitely leave on Sunday. Thrilled for him, sad for us.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. I am sure it’s cold out there, I am going out in a while so I will see!
Well goodness me, I cannot believe it is Friday again, I am off to the factory today and then off out delivering this afternoon.
This weekend I was going to meet my sister but her town has gone into tier 2 so that is off the cards for the foreseeable, I wish we had met last weekend now but I put it off☹️
This weekend I will get at to on my bulbs and the garden so it is ready for the winter.
Well folks, take care of yourselves and try to stick to the rules so we can say goodbye to this strange life we are living right now.

DH has his tea in bed and am just off to wake the boys. Suspect we will have grumpy DGS1 before he goes off to school. He is 9 and does realise he is the lucky one not to miss schooling but in the moment sees it as very unfair his younger brother gets to stay at home with g&g

Morning everyone from a brightening south Cornwall. Looks like we're in for a sunny day. Will try to get to my allotment which needs some tlc. First time there on two crutches, but I'm always up for an adventure! I can get a bus part of the way.

Found a recipe yesterday for squidgy amaretti biscuity things. Necessitated buying a bottle of Amaretto. They'd better be good!

It is still quite dark here on the S Welsh coast, but it was dry when I peeped out and the sky to the east is pink again, so hopefully a lovely day in prospect like yesterday. We walked down to the sea yesterday teatime where the tide was in and there was a beautiful sunset. I have a zoom book club this morning to discuss 'Educated' by Tara Westover. A Sainsbury's Chinese for later, no cooking today.

We go into the High Tier tonight and will need to work out what that means practically....all so confusing.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s just getting light at 8am. There’s a pretty pink wash over the Mediterranean - the sun comes up behind Malaga city in the distance and then travels across towards Marbella along the coast further west.

As I’m #lazygran my nails soon grow - no gardening and plenty of reading - so I did myself a manicure yesterday. No nail polish, just nice and short again. Never easy snipping the nails myself on my right hand ha! I think long nicely shaped nails look elegant, especially when wearing a cocktail ring but they aren’t practical. Texting etc isn’t easy. Here are my before and after shots.

Friday already? And I just read Boris is putting Manchester into Tier 3 today.

Good morning from a cool Glasgow. DH is golfing, the reason I'm posting early. It turned out to be a beautiful autumnal day yesterday, so hopefully more of the same today.?☀️

I spent all afternoon in the garden yesterday, with a little help from DH, after a little gentle nagging persuasion
We had a bush in a half barrel,at the front of the house, which was disintegrating and I had been asking him for months for help with it, as I can hardly bend, let alone move a barrel. I hated that bush, it was so ugly and dried up when the flowers died off and the the roots had gone right through the bottom and were wrapping around the downpipe.
I had planned to replace it with one of the ones my entrepreneurial friend had got me a few weeks ago. It was nowhere to be found. I searched high and low, then began to think I had imagined it. Eventually DH asked what was wrong. Telling him, I said, I think I'm going mad. I was sure M had got me a large blue pot. That's really worrying.
Oh do you mean this one, he said, producing the pot. ⚱️I moved it!! ?

My pleasant afternoon was completed with a chat with my two friends, who spotted me and came out to play, as they call it.
Catching up, some gossip and the eBay queen showing us her latest acquisition, a chaise longue, which was jammed ? in her husband's car!?
He is DH's golfing partner and was not a happy bunny!! I keep telling my husband how lucky he is to have such an undemanding and independent wife as me.?

Apologies for forgetting to post the Mars recipe yesterday. I got caught up too much in all the intrigue on GN. I'm going to limit myself today, I get too annoyed and upset at all the unpleasantness and machinations directed at virtual friends. Deletions in the Kitchen have happened only once in its history!!!!!?

I’m later than usual due to a migraine at bedtime leading to a disturbed night. When I was teaching, they were a regular occurrence but I rarely have them these days. This is the second one within three weeks! Never mind, others in this world have worse afflictions.

Good morning Muck and all from S E Essex it’s just starting to get light.

The heating engineer is coming this morning hopefully we will have a functioning central heating system by lunchtime.

We have youngest GS today, if it’s dry I will put him in the pram and go for a long walk, he is crawling so fast and pulling himself up on everything!!!

Shopping yesterday at Lakeside was better than expected, very quiet and I managed to get some Christmas Gifts.

I need to check our new rules also PittCity I do not want to get it wrong, I do hope going into the next tier will help.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dark but dry I think. Yesterday stayed dry and we took the DGC to one of the local NT properties, Brodie Castle, where there’s a couple of playgrounds and a wood where they love playing hide and seek. Although I insist now that they have to hide with grandad as otherwise I worry where they are ?. Today I think we’re staying home and doing some baking this morning that they can take home with them later.
Good news about your DS test grandmattie and there’s no need for quarantine but I know you’ll miss him terribly when he’s gone.
I love the user name dwmxwg - now it makes perfect sense!
I love the sound of those amaretti biscuits mellow I hope they turn out well.

Happy Friday everyone. It’s a bit chillier this morning in Wiltshire but dry so far. Today my DH has some gate to weld ready for finishing the barn preparation ready for the cattle when they come in for winter so I might take a bit of time off farming to finish planting my tulip bulbs. Later on this morning we’ll nip out to the auction (household and antiques) to see if anything catches our eye. We tend to leave commission bids rather than stay and bid as I have a tendency to get carried away! ☺️ Here’s a photo of some of my ewes with their jazzy, coloured bums! Yellow bums will lamb the last week in February, red bums 1st week in March. As you can see, most have had the attention of my rams (!) but, having changed the rams to blue raddle yesterday, I’m hoping that the bare-bums will become blue-bums in the next few days! ?. Life doesn’t, get much more exciting than this! Thank you for all the welcomes this week and to those who have kindly said that they enjoy hearing about the farming life. I’ll try and share the good, the bad and the ugly’ of life on the farm over the coming months.

Good morning everyone from a dry but grey Essex by the sea. Most of Essex has moved to tier 2 but we have an independent council and are still in tier 1. My youngest daughter, who lives in a London borough, has moved to tier 2. Such a shame as I was going to stay for a few days the week after next.
Nothing planned today but I'm sure we will find somewhere to go, if only for a cup of coffee.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it is dry. We are off to Coniston for the day and a walk over to Tarn Hows. After much debate yesterday we found all the campsites were full even though they had spaces earlier in the day. Maybe next week! Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset. Chauffeuring Mr C to and from a hospital appointment in our nearest city. Not my favourite drive but needs must, if the sun comes out hoping for a walk later.

Delighted for your son grandMattie, a relief for him. Frustration here as there is still no outcome from the test one of our granddaughters had early Tuesday morning.

No change to our tier status, phew. Thinking of all with heavy hearts and worries of any kind. Take care out there.

Good morning from a now raining Derbyshire (that wasn't in the forecast!). More gardening in store today, rain permitting, both at home and at our vegetable garden. DH dismantled the tomato and cucumber plants yesterday and I weeded and pulled up some summer bedding plants and prepared the ground ready for the spring bulbs to go in. DH can't do too much as he's still getting pain so today I'll sit him in a garden chair and bring French bean plants to him (which I'll dig up) so he can pick off any still edible beans from them before they go on the compost heap.

Our area is being raised to tier 2 tomorrow which is very disappointing. We're in a small village on the very edge of the affected zone, well away from the two towns at the centre of it, but because we're under the same council were classed the same as them .

Made a good batch of chocolate dipped shortbread last night to take to work today - not always happy with them so pleased these are ok.
