Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry out there this morning in Brackley .
My usual Saturday, get the bus to Buckingham ,and then Bicester, cafe stop hoping they will have pork slices in a bap with stuffing and apple sauce .
Return home and watch the Giro on Tv which is slowly going into the Dolomites , so will be interesting as to weather changes and if it effects the race.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from dark, dry E Kent.
Mick, your pork baps sound delicious. My chaps will be watching the RFU cup final this afternoon.
A lovely, lovely day in prospect. All my favourite chaps will be here:- DH, DS1 & 2 and DGS all under my roof! It will be a farewell to DS1 who leaves tomorrow. DGS is a great fan of his uncle but hasn’t managed to see much of him.
DD’s name was in the paper yesterday announcing her cathedral appointment.
May today be kind to the sad, worried and in pain. Stay safe.

Ashcombe Sat 17-Oct-20 06:28:32

Good morning, Mick! Just thee and me at the moment!

Hello to those who will soon follow. I hope everyone is as well as possible.

Yesterday was a poor day as I struggled with the after effects of the migraine from Thursday evening. I’m sure the lack of fresh air doesn’t help as I’m still in quarantine which is becoming boring, especially when it’s been sunny every day.

Never mind, many have greater afflictions and worries and to those I wish you well. Happy weekend to all from a dark but dry Torbay.

Beechnut Sat 17-Oct-20 06:51:04

Good Morning everyone from a dry and dark Severnside.

I started to buy things for my Christmas goodie box yesterday and hope I can keep my mitts off ?

I think I’ve messed up an online order so will have to phone the company after the weekend. Today I’ll potter in the garden and greenhouse.
Not long to go with your quarantine Ashcombe.

Have the best day you can all ?

Dwmxwg Sat 17-Oct-20 06:58:21

Good morning all from North Surrey. Woken by the usual dog alarm call and DH has kindly brought me a cup of tea along with said dog, Freddie, who has come for his morning cuddle.
Plans for today include a visit to the gym and a countryside walk from DH’s home village. He knows the footpaths well as lived there for 50years and it is much more pleasurable than the book walks when we invariably have disagreements on which way to go and get lost - we have been known to call for a taxi to get us back to the car! It is on my bucket list to go on a map reading course ?
So lovely to get PM from another gransnetter yesterday and discover we live less than 1/2 mile from each other.
Look forward to popping back later to catch up with all your news and stories. Have a a good day everyone

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and dry corner of Somerset. Still waiting the covid test result, 4 days now hmm. Yesterday’s hospital session wasn’t the most positive, we’re still thinking it through, not sure a very stressed chauffeur helped. Later I heard I had won a GN competition which cheered me immensely. Today will be good as our Littlest is visiting, an active morning full of laughter followed by a chase along the sea front. Tomorrow we rest. Look after yourselves everyone, it’s a strange world out there.

Sar53 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:17:45

Good morning everyone from a still dark Essex by the sea.
We are going to DH's eldest daughters for lunch. He didn't see her on his birthday earlier this week so belated birthday wishes.
No other plans today.
I was going to stay with DD2 the week after next, but she is now in Tier 2, so I am hopefully going to see DD1 instead. All may change before then.
Have a lovely Saturday and stay safe everyone xx

Bellasnana Sat 17-Oct-20 07:21:26

Good morning from Malta where the temperature has definitely dropped, although it’s still very pleasant. Think I shall put the fans away though as I haven’t needed them this week.

DD1 has really smashed her hand badly and is to have surgery on Monday. Being America, it will cost a small fortune even with insurance as she has to pay the excess. We don’t know how lucky we are with our medical care.

Whilst chatting with DGD yesterday I asked her if she knew about her auntie’s accident. ‘Oh no! Is it her dominant hand?’ she asked! She’s only nine!

I had planned to do some serious cleaning today but I’m not so sure I feel like it. Maybe just flick a duster round and mop the floors.

Hope you have a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

kittylester Sat 17-Oct-20 07:23:17

Good morning all from a grey, possibly wet, North Leicestershire.

DH is going for a Covid test and blood test prior to his colonoscopy and then we have to adhere to his diet until Tuesday.

Keep it quiet but DD3's partner was offered a job York but they have decided to turn it down and I am so pleased. They are currently 45 mins away - York is 2hours. We have been very supportive all through the process so are doubly pleased!!

DS1 hasn't had his result yet but feels fine!

Not much else to report from the Lester household but I hope every has the best day possible.

brook2704 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:30:05

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and I think it’s dry but cloudy. Maybe rain later and maybe not the weather app says!
Today we’re planning a walk in the hills near some lochs in Glenmore Forest Park so I do hope it stays dry. I’m enjoying walking so much that I’m now having a bit of a rethink about the gym as the one that I used to go to closed permanently during lockdown. I was going to join a different one but think I prefer being out in the open air. The winter will be the big thing though, I might not be tempted out quite as much when the weathers really bad - will see!
I hope you enjoy today grandmattie with your chaps and well done to your DD
Hope you’re feeling better soon ashcombe I can’t remember exactly when your quarantine ends but hope it’s not too long and you can soon get outside
Hope Saturday is kind to everyone and take care whatever the day brings ?

Pantglas2 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:33:34

Morning all from a dry north Wales where I’m hoping it will stay dry until lunchtime at leas as I’m meeting a friend for coffee and get to meet her little doggie ?

Hope all goes well with the COVID test, Kitty - and things can move forward accordingly ?.

Kind thoughts to all unwell and with worries @nd a welcome to the newbies, all we need now is for the absentees to pop in!

brook2704 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:37:30

Well done cornergran in winning the competition- you thoroughly deserve it! And hope the Covid result comes back negative soon
So sorry to hear about your DD hand bellasnana sounds very painful and I agree that we’re so lucky here with our medical care
Hope all goes well kitty with your DH
Thinking of all GMorningers with heath struggles just now, take care everyone

FlyingHxndbag Sat 17-Oct-20 07:38:20

Morning all!! I'm not sure what I'm going to get up to today apart from have a cup of tea and some cereal for breakfast soon then a bacon roll or something about 11:30.
My uncle is coming for a visit later (he's only about 5 miles up the motorway) so I'm excited about that.
Hugs to all. X

cornergran hope you get your results soon it must be a worry for you this waiting game. Good morning Everyone from a fairly bright east coast of Fife where there seems to be lots of tractor moment on the road just outside my bedroom. I’ve had a rotten night too cold too hot up down up down however I’m going to have a wonderful meet up with my daughter and her young boys within the scottish regulations of course where I’ll get little hugs and lots of smiles. We’re off to to Dundee then back home. I’ll probably sleep well tonight. It’s the usual pattern some good nights some restless. I’m pleased I was able to walk a few steps yesterday unaided without needing my walking stick I even went on to the utube stroke excercise morning things are improving every day.my felicitations to those suffering from this covid situation it’ll all end some day and we’ll look back thankfully because we’re survivors take care and have a lovely weekend..cafe

Good morning from a dry Morecambe Bay where our freedom has been curtailed as we are now in ‘tier 3 ‘
It’s actually not too bad here although cases in Lancaster have risen dramatically since the uni went back. I must check how DGD1 is doing. Last I heard she was stuck in her hall of residence having seen no one for 2 weeks.
Time to get back sewing crocheting and putting my gardens to bed I think.
Enjoy your day grandMattie and take everyone, stay safe?

Sark Sat 17-Oct-20 07:50:29

Good morning.
Dry and cloudy here in Oxfordshire.
Usual sort of Saturday today, food shop, house cleaning etc
Enjoy your day with your chaps Grandmattie
Bellasnana hope your DD hand gets sorted soon..your DGD is very grown up bless her!
Have a good day and stay safe

Nannytopsy Sat 17-Oct-20 07:54:40

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Our bit of Suffolk is cloudy but dry at the moment. Let’s hope it stays that way as the smalls are coming at lunchtime to see the tractors and then to sleepover. Lots of Lego for grandpa then!
? for Mr L next week and for everyone else awaiting tests and results.
Cattleandsheep can you suggest what the crop is which has yellow flowers in some of our fields just now ? It looks like short rape but it’s surely the wrong time of year. I need something like an I Spy book of the countryside!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

dragonfly46 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:55:59

Good morning from as kitty says a grey Leicestershire.

Meeting friends for coffee today which maybe the last time as there is talk of us moving to tier 2. Then walking with another friend this afternoon.

I heard I was excused Jury service yesterday due to my upcoming radiotherapy.

Hope the tests go well for Mr kitty and you get the result soon Corner.
So sorry to hear about your daughter’s hand Bellasnana we are indeed lucky with our health service.

Still missing a doghouse member and of course thinking of other absent friends.

Lins1066 Sat 17-Oct-20 07:57:26

Good morning Mick and all . Dry here on the S Welsh coast. Puppy class number four for us this morning, we probably won't have the final one next week if we have the Firebreak lockdown that our FM is considering. Going to make a quiche later and move everything back into our newly defrosted freezer. Enjoy your chase along the seafront corner.
Have a pleasant day everyone.

FlyingHxndbag Sat 17-Oct-20 08:00:30

Little update... I made my breakfast about ten minutes ago (extra crunchy cereal that I prefer a bit softer and tea that takes an age to cool down) and I'm going to have it while watching Ackley Bridge with Mum. X

Marydoll Sat 17-Oct-20 08:14:49

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow. I have spent the last half hour looking for my tablet, only to find it lying at the foot of the bed. I thought I would just use the other one but the battery was flat. ☹️

I was wakened at 6.30am by the noise from my daughter ticking off my shopping in Tesco on the electronic shopping list!
Some of us are sleeping, Don't you know!!?

I meant to watch the Susan Calman programme about fudge and macaroon making, but fell asleep in the bath! Luckily DH recorded it for me.
Talking of macaroons, I had kept some for DD today, unfortunately there are none!!! DH must have scoffed the lot.?
Looks like I will need to get some baking done before they appear later with the stuff missing from yesterday's Tesco order.
Of course, it will be a garden visit only.

I didn't get much done yesterday, I felt pretty grim. It happens now and again with my RA and the pain from my vertebraic fractures was making my eyes water! ? I had planned to do so much.
Big improvement this morning.

Corner, I was delighted when I saw you had won a prize. It was so good to see someone I recognized.
Kitty, hoping all goes well for your husband's test and procedure.
Oh, your poor daughter, Bellasnanna, you must be so worried, especially if she can't work.
It great to hear you are still making progress, Elizabeth, it's been a long journey.

Thinking of all our missing posters, if only they would let us know how they are.
Have a good day, all.

Pittcity Sat 17-Oct-20 08:16:35

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Another dry day forecast with the sun occasionally peeping out from behind the clouds.
No plans, so ironing and Netflix it is.

Urmstongran Sat 17-Oct-20 08:18:44

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s another sunny day ahead ?

We are going to walk down to the marina after breakfast and buy toys to take home to the grandchildren. There’s a great shop there and we struggle to find anything at the toy shop at Malaga airport (is it even open?). No problem buying chocolate for them in duty free though!

After we get back up, Himself is off to their usual bar at 1pm to watch Rangers v Celtic.

I shall make a few phone calls and sit in the gardens to read my book I think.

I bet a lot of people will change the way they do things post-Covid corner. Makes us reappraise our lifestyle choices doesn’t it?

Hope all goes well for your husband kitty and I can sense your joy that your daughter won’t be moving further away from you now. I won’t tell anyone.
?

Ouch! Your poor daughter Bellasnana financially as well as medically. We are indeed fortunate but I think something of a shake up of the system here is long overdue.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
