Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley slight wind, and dry here in Brackley .
Yesterdays trip out went to plan , and am starting to prepare to xmas stuff in present form .
Today , small shop ,and then an easy day watching the Vuelta from Spain later .
Interesting thing as to Facebook , I responded to an article, and got a like , so I contacted the person with a message , knowing of the family when they lived at Towcester , it was the mother of the girlfriend of Tao who won the Giro , apparently still in a buzz since his race win .
Take Care ,
Mick

The worlds a village Mick
Good Morning everyone from a wet Severnside with more to come today.

I’m going to finish off my jobs from yesterday then cut the excess from my dress pattern ready to make once I receive the fabric.
I think the way forward is to always have a project or two on the go as it’s going to be a long winter without much people contact face to face.
Are you preparing yourself for the journey home Urmston. Well, your other home ?

Have the best day you can and stay safe ?

grandMattie Wed 28-Oct-20 06:25:14

Good morning from dry, dawning E Kent. The weather was horrible yesterday, we’re not used to wet windy conditions her - more Gobi-like! More storms forecast but we seem to miss them all.
Wow,*Mick*, how exciting and you get to see a lot of extra cycling too.
Did nothing yesterday, a mental lassitude has taken hold of me.
Have a good day all and may your problems be resolved. Stay safe.

Good morning, one and all!

It’s still breezy but dry in Torbay after a windy night, which was expected.

Facebook can be useful for unexpected connections, 12Michael, especially when there are shared interests.

I’m planning to be out early to be in Lidl before it’s too busy this morning then this afternoon there will be a Zoom meeting with The Little Theatre (Toads) social club. It’s always good to see familiar faces, even if the meeting starts with some needing guidance to access sound, etc.

Hope those with worries are finding they ease today.

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

Great excitement as I am having my hair cut for the first time in a year. I finally have enough to cut ?.

I bought a couple of Patio Magnolias a couple of years ago Mary which turned out to be sticks. I am afraid they didn’t survive.
Hope you are feeling better.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Kalu Wed 28-Oct-20 06:35:28

Good morning Mick and everyone. Still very dark and quiet here in Glasgow apart from the sound of crows and wind.

What a small world Mick

Having my kick start espresso to give me a bit of oomph to start the day. Change of bed linen but no chance of hanging a washing out in this weather so a full pulley load at some point. A catch up FaceTime with DD2 at some point and that is enough to think about so far.

Hope everyone has a good day and best wishes for all with troubling times.

Good morning, I’ve not peeped out yet to see what the weather is doing. It’s not really important as I am going for a hike with a friend whatever it does.
Kitchen saga continues, fitter here this morning doing the last few bits of adjustments and silicone. Decorator arrives also to start woodwork prep and second coat of paint. And then as I am a total masochist I am having my 2nd & 3rd floor stairs and landing decorated. So a day tomorrow to clear everything out. I might as well get all of the disruption at the same time.
Partner still abroad, should have returned 2 weeks ago but didn’t want the kitchen mess. Now thinking of mid November. No quarantine this end now but all sorts of difficulties in returning. I really don’t want to for, out hundreds of pounds for private tests before flying. Beginning to question the wisdom of buying a holiday apartment abroad. It’s odd but I’m quite enjoying and getting used to being busy and being in my own.

Good morning from a dry north Surrey. Hope it stays that way as I have a walk planned with DS’s partner and my DGDS this morning.
The world is indeed a village Beechnut, I was so excited a few years ago to get a reply tweet from Chris Packham.
Early start as I have personal trainer session at 8. Then the dentist (got my days wrong and turned up yesterday to be told your appt is tomorrow)
Then a short walk with the girls as I start work at 1. Another full on day but a few quieter days to come
Wishing all a good one

Morning Mick and All.

A calm dry day for a change in South Bucks.

Thanks NannyJ all went well at the optician’s yesterday except I need new glasses, then I agreed to having my computer glasses updated and my prescription sunglasses! Wow what a lot of money, but I should be sorted for a year or so.

Meeting a friend for lunch who I haven’t seen for over a year. We will have lots to chat about.

aggie Wed 28-Oct-20 07:02:05

Good Morning all, it is starting to show a bit of light , I should be still in bed , but I waken at the same time as if it wasn’t GMT ,
Such a quiet day yesterday , friends ring but we seem to have so little to talk about with us all staying in
Finishing off my crochet , long queue of work to do , don’t think I’ll run out of projects ! I can’t watch tv without having work in my lap
Sister has a new phone and can now send me photos , so nice to see them , might give her a scare by FaceTiming her !

Good morning from Glasgow. As Kalu says, no chance of the washing out today.
I couldn't sleep, so I ended up making a cuppa and watching QVC, as I didn't want to disturb DH. I ended up switching off, as I could see myself being seduced by the Kipling offerings. ?

My plan today is to try and get my tablet working again. Its my previous one, but the keyboard is more suitable for my hands.
It won't recognise my password, again, so I'm going to try and take it back to factory settings and rebuild the interface.....I hope.

I never got into the garden yesterday, so hopefully in today to plant the twigs. We have a delivery of compost, half whisky barrels coming today and some winter plants to go in.
That should keep DH out of my hair for a bit.

It was good to see Bluesapphire posting yesterday and as always, thinking of Gilly and all who need our support.
Have the best day you can.

grannysyb Wed 28-Oct-20 07:08:44

Dry here at the moment. Not much planned for today, I think I'll carry on sorting out desk drawers and try to find coat pattern, which means taking lots of boxes out of the cupboard which also need sorting?. Have a good day all, and hope anyone feeling out of sorts feel better soon.

Sar53 Wed 28-Oct-20 07:13:18

Good morning everyone from a bright Essex by the sea. The sun has just risen over the sea, beautiful.
I'm still worrying over the problem with a neighbour, DH tells me it will get sorted and to try and not get myself upset.
No plans today apart from some ironing. I've finished two cross Stitch unicorns, one to go, these are for our three youngest granddaughters. I'm very pleased with them, I hope the girls like them. I plan to frame them and give them as part of their C....s presents.
Have the best Wednesday you can and stay safe everyone xx

PollyDolly Wed 28-Oct-20 07:17:23

Good morning everyone from a very bright and breezy North East Midlands. I've had a busy few days and will be taking advantage of the bright morning to go for a walk.

I have also got some sewing projects "queuing up" mainly Christmas orders etc.

Special thoughts for all those struggling or feeling unwell.

Keep safe everyone and have a great day.

Kalu Wed 28-Oct-20 07:21:12

Like you aggie I always like to have some knitting or crochet on the go as I watch TV.

Something I miss is popping into the wool shop in the next village. Tea and coffee is always on the go at a large kitchen table as people drop in, either to buy, get some help with a project or simply pop in with their work to have a blether and some laughs. I will miss the option of having such visits this winter.

Pantglas2 Wed 28-Oct-20 07:23:11

Morning all from another dry start in north Wales but I don’t doubt LauraNorder will be forwarding island rain to us soon - forecast is horrendous over the next few days!

Was a bit disappointed with Nigellas carrot cake, Lins! Normally I’d use butter but this needed sunflower oil and I didn’t think it was as tasty ? but DH made a dent in it, as usual!

Red onion marmalade for Xmas hampers to be made today so my little kitchen will bring tears to my eyes!

I’m sure you’ll make full use of your apartment in future Miss Chateline, when this dreaded lurgy is seen off ?- here’s hoping, for all our sakes!

ginny Wed 28-Oct-20 07:27:16

Good Morning all, weather not looking too bad so far in N. Bucks
We have little DGS coming today. So we’ll be busy. He is going to help mix up Christmas Puddings and then we shall pop down. to town for lunch.
Weather permitting we will be walking in the woods and collecting acorns this afternoon as part of a local scheme to grow more trees.
Nice to see that many here have creative hobbies. I find it is something you can lose yourself in for a while and not think of other things.
Take care all and hope you find some ? today.

baubles Wed 28-Oct-20 07:27:23

Good morning Mick, morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday the mobile groomer grappled with dd (darling dog) in his van for almost an hour, I didn’t recognise the wee soul at the end of it. She’s half the dog she was - must have lost 2lb and no longer looks like a cute teddy. Ah well, it will grow back.

Childminding after school today for a few hours. There’s a fair chance my area may be moving up to tier 4 soon, I’m hoping there will still be exceptions for childcare or DD will be stuck.

Have a good day everyone and be careful out there.

Kalu Wed 28-Oct-20 07:27:41

Tea and coffee ‘are’. Need to unravel my head never mind my knitting bag?

kittylester Wed 28-Oct-20 07:30:34

Good morning all from my bit of North Leicestershire where it is dry and the sky is brightening.

Our cleaner is here this morning, dh is off to the gym and I have my volunteer Zoom session. The courses we do are 6 week courses which are usually in community venues. This gives the attendees the chance to chat and gel. It's really difficult for them to do that on line and this group are incredibly reserved so, by the end, the leader and I need a big sit down.

kate, I just had new glasses which weren't too expensive but dh had to have a prism and a specific sort of varifocal in his which cost a fortune and he didnt even have new frames!!

Enjoy your trip to the hairdresser, dragonfly.

Have the best day possible and a big wave to gilly.

cornergran Wed 28-Oct-20 07:31:16

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, very windy corner of Somerset. Dust removal and grocery delivery today. With luck one of ours will come and collect some furniture so we can reclaim a bedroom. A work emergency means he may not get here, can only hope, not his fault. Look after yourselves - let’s be careful out there.

Nortsat Wed 28-Oct-20 07:32:15

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a brightening east London.

Our elderly cat Missy is nicely settled at home, after her short stay in Vet Hospital. We’re waiting for her test results now.

I have the second of two presentations today, to a large group of musicians and academics. I found last week, in preparation for part one, I dressed in work wear and had to change into shoes. I couldn’t have a serious conversation wearing my slippers, although of course no body could see my feet. Thus I will do the same today... slippers and serious conversations don’t mix well.

I walked to the park in the rain yesterday but it looks much brighter and calmer today.

Pleased to see Bluesapphire here and good morning to gilly, if she’s reading. Good thoughts to all GNs facing challenges today ... and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Oct-20 07:34:35

Good morning Mick and all

Blue sky and sun here in S E Essex, going to the shops to get a few Christmas gifts and wrapping paper today as I have a feeling that we shall be in full lockdown soon (I hope I am wrong)

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

brook2704 Wed 28-Oct-20 07:42:08

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry but with lots of grey clouds around with just a little bit of sunshine peeping through.
Yesterday stayed dry so I carried on with the garden tidy up - still lots to do though.
Today I’ve got a big shop to do and then I’m looking forward to coffee and a long chat with my friend at a local garden centre.
A bit of a worry this morning as DD2 has just called to say 5 year old DGD has a temperature so she’s booked in for a Covid test later today. Hopefully it’s just one of those childhood things but will see ...
Hope everyone with worries and struggles has a good day today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Wed 28-Oct-20 07:42:32

Good morning from sunny, for the moment, Colchester.
As rain is forecast our outdoor coffee meetup is off.
I have to wait in for a delivery and pop to the supermarket but otherwise it'll be laundry today.
