Heated Throws

Although we have central heating sometimes during the evening my legs get a bit chilly. I am thinking of getting a Heated Throw from Lakeland. They are lovely, snuggly blankets which heat up as well.
Has anyone got one? - are they as good as they sound? They are quite expensive but worth it if they are as good as they say.
Thanks

I have two, one for guest, one for me, and they are absolutely lovely and it keeps my heating bill down considerably.

Cannot recommend them more highly as I'm a shivery soul.

One is a Livivo and one a Dreamland, both washable, both bought on Amazon, both washable.

Worth every penny, but you dont need to spend £100, around £60 should do it.

I am sitting happily with my heated throw over my legs and feet. My husband doesn't feel the cold so we keep the heating low and I use the throw. I love it.

My d.i.l. got me an electric under-blanket, for my bed and a throw for when I sit in my armchair watching TV. Love both, but I don’t think I will keep the underblanket on, while I’m sleeping, although they keep it on all night. There probably are safety features, but I’m a bit nervous.

This whole winter, I can honestly say we have not had the heating on after 6pm apart from on 3 occasions when family were visiting. In October we each purchased an electric thrown - ok, we used Amazon and we are delighted with them. They are lovely and soft and heat up quickly with 9 settings on ours.
They go off after 2 hours ( a safety feature) but just turn on again. Drawbacks are falling asleep under such a cosy blanket and not moving very often.

I bought DD one. She loves it as she really feels the cold. Alas her cats love it too and tend to take it over!

U've washed mine. It has a washing label attached. It can be tumble dried but I just hung mine on the drying thingy in the utility room and it was dry in no time.

If I am chilly I soon get warm under an ordinary throw, so I don’t see that it is worth buying a heated throw.

Heated throws are just wonderful in this cold weather. We have one each and use the central heating a lot less.

One of the money saving tips is to put an energy efficient electric blanket on your sofa covered by a blanket to keep you warm. I don't know much about the electric throws other than aldi sell them in the aisle of crap occasionally

the aisle of crap 🤣🤣🤣 Love it.

My DD has one and I used it once when I was feeling under the weather. Very nice. But ordinary blankets are just as warm, once you've warmed up under them. I wouldn't pay £100ish for one.

My DS gave me one for Christmas and I love it. Just come in cold and damp and put it on so my legs are lovely and warm. It gives me the same feeling I used to get from a hot bath (I only have a shower now).
My DS has the same one and they have washed it. I haven't yet.

When my OH was so ill I bought him a single heated duvet. It worked really well.

I’ve got the Aldi heated throw & love it. It cost about £40.

My son bought me one for xmas it's a Dreamcatcher. Absolutely love it, heats all over perfect for snuggling under on the settee in this cold weather.

I have a heat pad - it is like a mini electric blanket about the size of a large cushion. I put it behind my back when I am siting on the sofa and it is great - especially when my back is bad.

I can feel the elements and those near the controls are warm whereas those in the other half of the large throw are tepid. It is a present from by DD and I don’t often see her because of covid.

I’ve been sleeping on our recliner for a few nights (post op), and have been v toasty under a fleece throw with sleeves I bought from Amazon. I must admit I’d previously been quite scathing about sleeves in a throw but it’s ideal for my current situation. I’m cosy right up to my neck but have hands free for eating/drinking.

I live in an big old Victorian house with no central heating I never thought of but for Christmas this year my friend bought me a heated throw and it’s lovely
I m nice and warm in my main room, by my gas fire but when I wake for the loo in the night and my hot water bottles have gone cool I put my throw on and it’s cosy, cosy
Mine heats all over and has a panel for controls
A lovely present

We have one from Lakeland. We love it! I would strongly recommend them. Lakeland do have brilliant customer service.

avitorl Mon 08-Feb-21 00:01:00

I love my heated Throw.I am able to turn down Central Heating Thermostat and hardly ever use My Gas fire now that I have one. It makes me feel very cosy and comfortable.
Mine does heat all over and ,as Cornergran said,I can feel the elements in mine so check yours Mokynra to see if yours is the same.

cornergran Sun 07-Feb-21 23:48:13

Had a heated throw from Lakeland for Christmas. I love it. Mine does get warm all over mokynra other than a strip around the sides. Can you feel the heating elements? I can just feel them in mine. If you can and there are elements in the cold bits sadly it isn’t working properly. I’m a real convert, would recommend one to anyone who feels the cold.
