Good Morning Sunday

Good morning all from a wild and cloudy Welwyn in Herts. It looks like it may rain any moment.
Yesterday got a good soaking in the pouring rain as we came home from shopping, had to get off the bus earlier due to a road diversion.
Am happy to stay indoors today, DS2 and fiancee bringing lunch (main course of lasagne) while I made the lentil soup, salad.by DH and apple crumble which I made yesterday, so no stress or rushing around today!
I expect we all knew we would go into lockdown again so hopefully it will be worth it, I wish they would sort out the track and trace system meanwhile.

Oh marydoll your post gave me a real pang, like you I love the Forth Rail Bridge and Mollie and Mack was the programme my grandson and I watched too, just before leaving for nursery and that was exactly what he used to say to me. Ready for a wee weep!

Good Morning all from Harrogate, the sun is shining but I fear not for longHave been doing a little tidying, very difficult in this house cause DH has 'tidy' piles of his stuff all over the house - if he finds a spare space he will invent a pile. I found an art catalogue in a pile - he says nothing to do with him, his usual response when I ask why he has it! He's blaming me for losing his driving licence!!! He has only to look in one of his many piles!!
Enough ranting!! I treated myself to an inflatable globe - geography was never a strong point, renaming and breaking up countries makes it more difficult to find where it is in relation to us - no excuses now!!

I am a relative newbie to GN ansd have only started posting. I just love the Good Morning........posts. What a sense of community there is......and I just love to see Urmstongran posts. Not having had a holiday this year, when I read the 'sun is up' I can feel that sun on my back-if it's only in my mind.
It is overcast here in West Wales but I've bitten the bullet and pegged towels out. Fingers crossed.

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a grey, damp and miserable Greater Manchester. My strong painkillers made me so ill on Friday night and I woke yesterday with a migraine, which wiped me out for most of the day.
I had 4 parcels to open but it was evening before I got around to doing it. One exciting parcel was an art subscription package containing a beginner's kit for lino cutting. I'm looking forward to having a go with that.
I need to tidy the living room today as all of a sudden every surface seems to have a book, pens or clothes on it. I didn't have the energy to do anything yesterday. Thank goodness I'm able to stir my stumps today.
Turkey meatballs and pasta for supper today. Buttered cabbage perhaps for me instead of pasta.

Good morning from a breezy, drizzly Norfolk.

Just been early morning shopping (well 10 am) and was very pleasantly surprised that given yesterday’s news nobody seemed to be panic buying. We were there for the Sunday special buys, DH needed some DIY tools and very reasonable they were.

Christmas cake baking today so the house will smell,lovely for a while.

Having been through lockdown once I’m hoping the second time will be easier, at least the rules will be consistent for all of us.

Good morning and white rabbits ?Mick and all from Sycamore Lodge on the West coast. Grey day, but one ray of sunshine just now. Flying Scotsman! I do fancy that, I love trains. When I have mentioned that to some people, they start going on about narrow gauges etc.,a mystery to me.
Well really fed up with this half life, but mustn’t complain, roof over my head etc etc.
EllanVannin I put my lipstick on and a spray of scent every morning. Not sure why, I’m seeing no one today and feel like going back to bed, giving a French shrug on the way? BUT I ordered a pretty rug for the bedroom online yesterday and am enjoying sorting out my wardrobe into plastic baskets I bought specifically, itemising items, the only good thing to come out of lockdown.
I watched a dated spooky 1947 film The Red House last night, love old films but hate Halloween, the current commercialisation and being squeamish, slit throats, noses missing and blood everywhere, ugh.
Thoughts to the troubled.??

Good Morning everyone ! Warm, breezy and overcast in the South of France today. All Rugb-ied out after yesterday's marathon. Now need to make Christmas pudding. Decided I shall not be doing Christmas cake - for me it would be the complete undoing of all sensible diets and I'm anxious to avoid needing to put a small wheel under my (currently diminishing) middle; so will make a chocolate log nearer the time. Now I have to find suet.....

What a lovely positive post Gingster. You'll probably say what else can we say, and you're probably right. As I was trying to convince a member of our family on the 'phone first thing this morning (!!!!!) all we can do is search for a positive and give up even trying to fight the negative thoughts - just overwhelm them with a small plan or distraction where we can.

If you start calling yourself names GrannySomerset, I shall be forced to report you! You are never selfish. Do something that makes you happy and try to take back a bit of control. What else do we have?

GrannyGravy bit concerned at your needing another reindeer 'for the front' .....hope this doesn't involve interfering with Santa's well-tested line-up. . I recall already there's Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen - and young Rudolf ! We don't want any punchups breaking out on Christmas Eve because of untrained new boys!

Gelisa hope that your family will be feeling better very soon and you don't have that extra worry. Are you up for a walk today? There's something about the rhythm of walking which tends to soothe and calm frazzled nerves and stress, I think.

BlueS keep on going with your plans. Day at a time....and don't stop posting. We're all so thrilled that you're back. Purple, we're all here for a good rant. Keep going and don't let this further setback beat you. Just hang on to GrannyOwl's midsummer promise.

Grandmafrench we live next door but one to the small local primary school. I always make sure the house is sparkling and bright (well I give MrGG13 instructions) I think the children expect to see it lit up from December 1st. I have an unexplained need to squeeze in one more reindeer ?
