Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry and cold outside .
Usual day some housework , wait for post , I did watch some cycling last late afternoon on Eurosport from Bulgaria euro track cycling apart from competitor's ,and team support no spectators gave it a very dull atmosphere , nationally team numbers appeared to be low as well .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels mild.
Work day today. Had a morning out with DD and DGS at the priory yesterday. DD felt poorly do I sent her home and kept DGS for the rest of the day and she collected him in the evening. She does struggle with sickness during her pregnancies, I feel for her.
DGS was a delight and is such a well behaved little one, he is 18 months old now, he says just one word “Ta” and that is it! DD does worry so much but I have been told by you lot that she need not worry as he understands everything you say to him, he just has nothing to say just yet.
I am starting another project and building him a tower for the kitchen as they are hundreds of pounds online and I have the wood for £7 and a stool for £5 so I will post the results after the weekend.
I hope you are all coping with this strange time we are living in. I do hope EV is ok and just hope that I have missed a post from her. Still think about Gillybob
Take care everyone and stay safe. Don’t forget your smiles!

Good morning from a chilly but dry Torbay!

As always, I’ve appreciated the supportive comments from contributors regarding my hire car, following the shunt from behind on Sunday. Yesterday, I took it for a trial run which went fine, once I’d got to grips with its technical wizardry! Luckily, it recognised it was being driven by a slow witted technophobe so helpfully offered instructions about how to start the engine on the screen in front of me! Equally, I took a few minutes to fathom switching it off! Ah, press the Start/Stop button .... who knew?!

The drive went well although I found the steering woolly, the (automatic) gears inexact and the brakes fierce! It is fun to try out a different car, not least as it has made me realise what I love about my Fiesta Zetec Ecoboost, which is nippy, easy to park and holds the road well.

An Asda click and collect is on the timetable today so I’ve made sure I know how to open the boot, which looks spacious but then it’s not loaded with all the stuff normally present in my own car!

Wishing everyone as good a day as worries and ailments allow.

Sark Thu 12-Nov-20 06:53:56

Morning all from Oxfordshire
Not looking too bad out there so far.
Ashcombe sounds like you had a fun drive! I have a suzuki celerio which DD2 describes as a real Grandma car...she is not a fan!
Work today and Thursday is my busiest day so better get moving
Have a good day everyonesmile

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

Early radiotherapy this morning, walk with a friend this afternoon and a Zoom quiz tonight.

Ellan is fine and we will hopefully hear from her later.
I wish we could hear from Gilly.

Dwmxwg Thu 12-Nov-20 07:02:55

Good morning. Quick pop in before alarm goes off to get DGSs up for school.
Will make the most of the weather today as looks like rain forecast for the coming few days. Have to stay in for parcel delivery first so hope that arrives early - my early Christmas present from DH.
Have a good day all GMs

Beauregard Thu 12-Nov-20 07:03:59

Good morning from Derbyshire. It's now dry after last nights rain and looks like being a brighter day.

Scentia my grandson was a very late talker too. You should hear him now, aged 5, he never stops!

Shopping this morning so I'll be off soon. Later I might make Marydolls Mars bar cake so I can take some for our DGS's after school.

Thinking of all with illness, worries and sadness to contend with flowers

Sark Thu 12-Nov-20 07:05:31

Thanks for the update about Ellanvannin Dragonfly great news.
Hope today goes well for you. I remember my sister walked her way through her radiotherapy tiredness flowers

kittylester Thu 12-Nov-20 07:11:07

Morning all. My bit of Leicestershire is a bit lighter and there is a little rain on the window.

This morning's job is to plan my butcher's order for Christmas. Goodness knows who is coming and when so I suppose I will have to order for all eventualities and hope there is room to store it all.

Sainsbury's delivery this pm.

Ashcombe my car can almost drive itself too. Mine can even keep you in the correct lane on the road. I love it but dh hates it.

Enjoy your days as much as possible everyone.

Beechnut Thu 12-Nov-20 07:14:57

Here’s one from me ?
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Am extra half hour sleep makes all the difference to my waking sky colour. Looks like we might see blue today.

I’ve nothing that desperately needs doing today so I think I’ll potter about the house and garden.

Good to hear news about EV and maybe see her later.
Have a good day all ?

NanKate Thu 12-Nov-20 07:17:59

Morning Mick and All.

A mix of light and darker blue sky here in South Bucks.

I agree Mick sport without the spectators is a little flat. They have started to dub the tennis with recorded applause which really doesn’t work as it is the same bit of applause each time.

Nothing particularly thrilling on the cards today. 3 more weeks and then hopefully we will be released again.

Grammaretto Thu 12-Nov-20 07:23:26

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark but it's dry and not too cold.
I hope your day goes well Dragonfly now DH is home and stopped treatment, at least there's no driving/parking/ hospital protocol to worry about.
Visiting kiwi DS is bothered by all the ignoring of the covid rules he sees here. I have to be more careful.
DD is moving house today. In normal times we would be helping them.
Hoping everyone's day goes well.

Sar53 Thu 12-Nov-20 07:27:15

Good morning from a breezy Essex by the sea. It's not raining now but we had a lot of it during the night.
I've been awake on and off since 4, lots on my mind.
DH is off to look at the footage of the Veolia truck from last Thursday. They say they didn't hit our gates, one of our neighbours heard it and saw the truck immediately afterwards. Yesterday we had a long visit from the loss adjuster re the other insurance claim. DH and I are both pretty fed up with it all, hence my bad night.
I have no plans today apart from some ironing, there's always ironing and I need to do a bit more of my Harry Potter cross Stitch. This one is taking some time as I'm partly following a pattern and partly following a picture.
Have a pleasant Thursday and stay safe everyone xx

Urmstongran Thu 12-Nov-20 07:28:30

Sun’s up here! ?

Good morning everyone from Malaga where I’m sat on the balcony (windows folded closed) with a cuppa watching Mr & Mrs Duck waddle across the grass with their cute orange feet. The garden cat is sitting watching them, only a short distance away, still as a Sphinx ...

I rang an 95y old friend in Birmingham yesterday. She lives alone in a huge house, still drives once a week to Waitrose and does her own cooking and vacuuming. The gardens are a ‘bit much’ so she does have help there! She told me she received her first Christmas card on Saturday! Not from abroad either as I posited - it came from Knutsford.
?

Glad to know EV is okay. I dare say she will return when she’s ready. I rather fear though that gillybob has left as it’s been so long now. I rather think she’d have just popped by even if only to say ‘having a bad time all round’. At least she has Miss Evie Buttons in her life. We miss you very much if you’re reading anyway dear lady.

No plans for us again. I’m struggling with my book on Kindle. It’s a bit long winded and boring now. It’s the autobiography by Noel Fitzpatrick, the ‘Supervet’. It began so promisingly too for the first 30% but needed serious editing in my view. I think I’ll ditch it today. Life’s too short to be disappointed about reading!
? ??

Hope Thursday is good to us all. My COVID warrior continues to concern me. I know I won’t properly settle until she is well again. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

mancgirl Thu 12-Nov-20 07:29:28

Good morning from Manchester where the tree are blowing a little bit and there are pink streaks in the sky. Taking my car for a small service today. It's a while you wait appointment. Normally like going to the dealership, nice lounge area, good selection of refreshments, magazines, can read my kindle in peace, TV, car washed and valeted but none of the above available due to covid?. There is an aldi nearby so will kill some time topping up fruit and veg. I'll go out for a walk later if still fine. Some nice walks around here by the canal or through fields. Have a good day everyone. Glad to hear EV is OK, just missing Gilly flowersfor those with extra cares and worries

NannyJan53 Thu 12-Nov-20 07:33:49

Good Morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Taking my car for it's MOT shortly, I need to be there for 8am.

Hard to think it has only been a week NanKate, it seems longer. Heard yesterday of more people affected. My cousins teenage children have tested positive. I just hope my cousin and her husband will be ok, as they are in their 50's.

Scentia my brother was well over 2 before he uttered a word! When he started he never stopped though smile

Meeting a friend for a walk later

Pleased to hear that EV is ok, thank you for letting us know Dragonfly

Wishing you all a lovely day

brook2704 Thu 12-Nov-20 07:35:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness it’s still dark but I think it’s dry and hopefully a bit less windy today.
Today I’m looking forward to meeting my friend for coffee in the local garden centre. It’ll probably be a long chat as although we meet up most weeks there’s always lots of things to chat about. After that I need to get cards and presents sorted out for some birthdays coming up soon...
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Thu 12-Nov-20 07:42:26

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Looks like another mild day.

We accepted an offer for our house yesterday and so now have upped our hunt for a new place.
All systems go for a big clearout. I just wish that the charity shops were open.

Jay's pub quiz with the family tonight.

PollyDolly Thu 12-Nov-20 07:43:38

Good morning from a promisingly bright East Midlands! I haven't posted for a few days on this thread but I do try to "drop by" to see how you are all getting along.

Sar53, I do hope you get the property damage resolved very soon.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe & look after yourselves!

baubles Thu 12-Nov-20 07:46:42

Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s another damp, drizzly morning in Lanarkshire.

It’ll be a day of pottering methinks, nothing huge to be done.

Look after yourselves.

Grandmabatty Thu 12-Nov-20 07:51:32

Good morning All. It's dry and breezy in Polmont. I have an extra day babysitting so I'm up and on my second coffee, but definitely not my second or even first wind! I think we might go for a walk today as my writhing insides seem to be staying put. Sorry if that's too much information. Homemade soup later and maybe a boiled egg. scentia my dgs didn't say much at 18 months. He's now 20 months and is starting to say more, in fact sometimes phrases but most of the time he babbles away in baby talk. Pittcity that's excellent news about your house! I hope you find one just right for you. When I downsized and bought my bungalow two years ago, I could see past the clutter and dreadful carpets. I knew it was cosmetic as the kitchen and bathroom were good. It was the right decision for me as I love my wee house. I hope everyone has a good day.

Taichinan Thu 12-Nov-20 07:52:49

Good morning. It will be sun up soon on the Angus coast and there is a break in the clouds waiting for it! Scentia your little DGS is an Einstein in waiting - he'll talk when he feels the need!

Well, this morning sees my last four classes til goodness knows when. I shall miss it and also seeing all my tai chi-ers - they're such a chierful bunch! ( See what I did there? ?). But needs must and apparently the incident rate per capita is growing alarmingly here. Nothing else happening so I'll just wish everyone a good day and pin my 'I can do this' smile on. ???

ginny Thu 12-Nov-20 07:53:08

Good Morning. We are forecast some sun in N. Bucks and it looks promising outside.
A bit of housework today, a short walk , prepare Toad in the Hole for dinner this evening.
By this afternoon I shall settle down in my craft room.
Hope all find a ? today.

LadyGracie Thu 12-Nov-20 07:55:07

God morning, lovely day here in South Wales after lots of rain, we're off for a long awaited puddle jump walk with our 3 year old granddaughter and our daughter.

Marydoll Thu 12-Nov-20 08:03:26

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, hopefully no rain today.

Another night of bad dreams, I won't tell you which poster featured in it this time. ? I need to get a life!!!

I had such an exciting day yesterday, cleaning out the fridge, ? and looking for hidden Christmas and birthday presents in the former linen cupboard.
Like Kitty and her missing threads, I'm beginning to wonder if I actually ever bought DD a coatigan and DGD a Frozen activity set!!
What I did achieve, was making sure my hospital bag was easily accessible for DH to just lift and go, after the fiasco on the previous hospital stay. I have planned for every scenario. I hope! Of course, it will have gone in one ear and out the other.

My plan for today, is do as little as possible. I'm very tired today and my angina is quite troublesome. I may lurk on GN, but posting can be a dangerous business,
Dragonfly, thank you for news of EV.

For all those struggling, take care.
