Exactly Icanhandthemback and Calli! It’s OK for the company to try to look good and customer friendly but make it feasible for your staff to carry our these extra tasks. Easy at the planning stage sitting in a comfy office (if in the office at all)!

since being told in the first lockdown and again during this one that I must shield, I hardly see anyone, delivery drivers, yes they chat while putting the bags in the kitchen but of course they have to rush off, the only other people I see are medical, ie INR nurse about every 6 weeks, had a phlebotomist here last week, that's the extent of my visitors. I haven't been outside my flat since February when I came out of hospital. Oh I lie, the hospital sent transport to take me to an appointment one day about 3 weeks ago.

I am shocked that your delivery driver is putting bags in the kitchen because they definitely are not supposed to come inside the house but to leave the bags on the doorstep. I have my groceries delivered by Waitrose and their drivers will not even accept returns if you have handled them.

I hope the driver is wearing a mask. I will not let anyone in to the house if they are not and if you have not been outside the house since February because you fall into the vulnerable category I feel you should be extra careful.

Most supermarket delivery drivers are friendly despite their job having got harder. When bags were taken away it made the delivery take much longer as individual items have to be taken out of the crates.
With Covid it takes me ages to get the goods out of the crates into shopping bags, carried into the kitchen, bag emptied and repeated. I can't carry heavy bags. The drivers do not get asssigned any more time despite the fact that the job takes much longer.

I had a lovely ‘chat’ on Monday evening with my Waitrose driver. My daughter and her Waitrose driver are now on first name terms!

Waitrose send me a text with the name of the driver who's delivering that day, so we can say "Good morning Jeremy" (or whoever, the last one was Jeremy!).

We've had some nice chats with them and the Tesco drivers but let them determine how long for.

Same thing happened to us in Asda last week at click and collect.
Girl we hadn't seen before didn't wear a mask and we felt she was too near us when we were loading up.
Is Asda slackening the rules? Glad you reported it.

In fact, I'm sure the delivery man was the manager of the local Waitrose.
We're very privileged here.
