Weird phone call ?

0012039254471 is from the USA. I wouldn't return the call.

I’ve had one from a similar number Squiffy, right up to the number 5 and then the last four numbers were different. I didn’t answer either.

Thanks, I did that MissDoll but the number didn’t come up. I didn’t intend to ring it back, as I didn’t recognise the number, but it had me wondering!

Scammers can disguise the number they call from. Everyone when the number is displayed, you can’t necessarily trust the location it implies.

I read somewhere that they are now able to disguise numbers to look like they come from the UK, but are actually coming from India and Africa.

Only yesterday, I had fake emails from both Morrisons and Asda. Scammers?

I have had several from 0161 which is our prefix but they have been from scammers.
If they have the technology to do this from India or elsewhere why can’t someone here detect this?

Their sneakiness knows no bounds, does it? Yes, we've had calls purporting to come from the UK, but a quick look-up on who called me shows that they're scammers from abroad

I have such a good call blocker- it is not a mobile- it takes time and determination to get through to me. Nobody has attempted to scam me since I bought this phone- money well spent.
