I kid you not. DH became ill last Saturday. He's not a giver in but he took himself to bed so I knew he felt really ill. Fever, cough, sore throat, tight chest, aching joints..'hmm Covid' we thought. By the next day I too was developing similar symptoms so we decided to go for a test. We waited and waited for the results but they never arrived. This morning I phoned 119 only to be told that the chances were than our tests had been lost but as we have Covid symptoms we should assume we have it and quarantine accordingly. We weren't going to mix over Christmas other than DH's 12 year old son (my stepson) was to spend a few days with us and go to his mam's on Boxing Day. Initially we put it on hold waiting for the results but now it's been cancelled because we can't risk that we've got it. So we're in quarantine until New Years Day.
Call me a cynic but wouldn't it suit the powers that be to 'lose' test results leaving more of us in limbo knowing that most of us won't take the risk of infecting others and help to stop the Christmas super spreader effect.
Either way I'm annoyed. Do we have Covid or have we picked up some flu like virus? Fortunately we hadn't mixed with anyone prior to becoming ill so fingers crossed we haven't shared it....if that's what it is. But whatever we have it would be nice to know. If this is Covid we can relax a little knowing how it affects us. If it's not then we still don't know. I may seem to be nit picking but we're both in vulnerable groups (not the stay in your homes group but the next one). DH has diabetes, thyroid, pernicious anaemia and a very weak left lung that is prone to collapse whenever it feels like it....yes a sulky lung 
and I have range of conditions too.
Anger management!!! Help needed.
