Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Up early as usual ,nothing much to say only Merry Christmas, to everyone .
I only hope the forthcoming weeks things improve in the UK , as to all the restrictions we face in different parts of the country.
Take Care ,
Mick

Happy Christmas from a very cold, clear N Hants. Wishing you all the best possible day you can have, some with and some without loved ones. Whatever you are doing, I hope you find some joy in this special day.

Thank you for the beautiful blessing Ashcombe. It will stay with me ?✨?

Marydoll Fri 25-Dec-20 07:43:02

Merry Christmas to Mick and all my dear Goodmorning friends, from a frosty and cold Glasgow.

Ashcome, thank you for the beautiful quote. A different Christmas from our usual celebrations.
It felt very strange not going to Midnight Mass, which I usually help organise. I miss seeing friends and singing carols which usually reduce me to tears, but we managed to watch an earlier online service from our church, which gave us some comfort and hope.

I wish to thank you all for all your support and friendship , the perfect gift in what has been a terrible year. As long as we still have hope and continue to look after each other, we will get there.

Whatever you are doing, wishing you all the best of days. Thinking especially of anyone who has lost someone this year and for those reading, but not having the courage to post, just pop in and say Hello!
My Christmas present to you all, no lengthy novella today! grin

PS. As to be expected in the Marydoll household, the day has started with a disaster, sad SOMEONE left the freezer door open!

Happy Christmas everyone from a frosty south coast! Not often we are this cold down here, unlike our Pennine homeland!

DD brought gifts for a present exchange at the garden gate yesterday and it was good to see her albeit briefly. We have a family zoom call booked for 11am so just hope the teenagers can be roused from their beds by then to join in. I miss their lovely faces!

Easy eating for us today - halibut with lemon butter sauce, new potatoes and broccoli spears. Tiramisu for pud. Neither of us keen on traditional Christmas dinner so decided to choose what we like best to eat and halibut is a real treat.

Enjoy the day as best you can, wherever you are and here's hoping 2021 is a better year than 2020 has been!

Happy Christmas everyone!
I have not posted recently but have been reading and wanted to say thank you all for your warm and thoughtful posts through this year.
I have had a lot of support from some great GNs this year when I have needed it so much.
Thank you all and I hope all of you have a great day with your loved ones either in the flesh or virtual and that everyone has a safe time.

cornergran Fri 25-Dec-20 07:46:11

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, calm corner of Somerset. A different day ahead here for sure. Looking forward to seeing present opening at a distance. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning and ‘il-Milied it-tajjeb’ from Malta.

Mick when you started your first GM thread I wonder if you imagined how special it would become to so many gransnetters. Thank you for always starting the days for us.?

Wishing you all a good Christmas Day whatever your plans, and thank you for the virtual friendship.

Merry Christmas everyone from the Lins family, Nadolig Llawen.
We enjoyed your daughter's Midnight Mass grandMattie.
We had a nice walk yesterday, on the walk back to the car we passed a man carrying two boxes of Real Ales and a pack of crumpets on top - it made me smile and think of you EV.
Hope that everyone will enjoy this special day.

Good morning from a cold and frosty Colchester. Just peeped out of the window after reading of snow in Suffolk..none here.
Crawled back into bed where DH is still snoring.

PamelaJ1 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:10:04

I hope everyone has as lovely day.
I don’t normally post on this thread so hope you regulars don’t mind. I am just having a quick GM fix before ignoring it all day.
So many of us will be having our last contact, for a while with our family. Enjoy it. as much as possible.
My sister has put her turkey in the freezer. We WILL have it at Easter , if Marydoll doesn’t come round and leave the door open?. ??????.

Good morning mick and all for a cold and frosty Inverness.
Just wanting to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and say thank you all for this lovely friendly thread that starts my day off so well each morning.
Hoping everyone has the best possible day even though it’s a very different Christmas this year. A special thought for all those with sadness in their hearts this time of year
Stay safe everyone ?

Grandma70s Fri 25-Dec-20 08:13:13

Lovely pink sunrise now. (Forget red sky in the morning being shepherds’ warning,)

FannyCornforth Fri 25-Dec-20 08:13:15

Lins that's a very fine poinsettia
First year in many that I haven't had one.
It's been a bit like that this year, hasn't it...

Kim19 Fri 25-Dec-20 08:17:16

Merry Christmas everyone. Just opened a couple of lovely gifts. Both edible. Guess that tells a story. About to be showered and thoroughly Covid cleansed before my short trip to family. A leisurely healthy breakfast then just car to pack (all lined up at the door already) then I'm off. Can't wait. GC will be high as kites and undoubtedly enjoying Santa's contribution already. Wonderful. Hope everyone has a lovely day whatever they have chosen to do.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a very cold and frosty South Gloucestershire.

Wishing everyone the best Christmas they can manage, and caring thoughts to all of you.

When my granddaughter was aged 2, I took her to the Carols round the Crib at our village church. On the way there I said she couldn't run around in there because it was God's house.

As we left, the vicar was standing in the porch thanking everyone for coming, and my granddaughter said "Are you God?"

He laughed and said "No, but I'll dine out on that all over Christmas!" tchgrin

Stay safe everyone, and look forward to a better year in 2021. tchsmile

Good morning Mick and All the wonderful GM friends.

It’s bright and cold in South Bucks.

As I said yesterday I have invited a lone neighbour, who is always up for a bit of fun, for a glass of bubbly on the Green in front of the house, as no garden meeting is allowed in Tier 4. Well DH has got out the summer parasol decked it in Xmas lights, has got decorations hanging from it, set up a table with glasses and a plate for some sweetmeats (whatever those are) plus 3 big lanterns. The neighbours will think we have gone completely looney when we manage to erect all of this outside in the frozen cold. Desperate times need desperate measures.

Thank you Ashcombe for the Christmas Blessing. ?✨

Have the best day you can folks.

NanKate Fri 25-Dec-20 08:21:57

Lovely to see you back here today Sparklefizz. ?

ginny Fri 25-Dec-20 08:22:41

Good Morning and Christmas greetings to you all.

Just had a FaceTime call from youngest DGS. Very excited because apparently a reindeer has been in his house ! Will speak to all the family later when it is a bit calmer.

Not much to say except I hope you all have the best day possible and find some ? along the way.

Sparklefizz Fri 25-Dec-20 08:28:19

Good Morning All and a Merry Christmas x.
Still and dark, though whether there's the promised frost, I wouldn't know as I haven't stuck my nose out yet as I let the cats out via the back kitchen window.

Don't remember a thing last night ( no drink involved ) after having watched the '40's Christmas, I took myself off to bed to watch Shirley Valentine and my eyes were meeting in the middle, so TV off and that was it until 6am. Fabulous.

No disturbance from the resident fox yapping as it has done a couple of times this week, he's quite near somewhere.

Expecting a call from Oz this morning so that'll wile away an hour. Must get this " video-call " business set up then I'll see the GC and look at what they're up to.

I can smell the turkey and it's making me feel hungry---I could just go a chew at a leg grin but will settle for my crumpets.

D will pop in later, probably with Ruby-Lou, who hugs you to death bless her, but I can't stand back from a child who doesn't fully understand.

A day of TV today then just my dinner to see to.
Have as nice a day as you all can possibly have and hoping everyone's well. Thoughts to one and all during these strange times and a Happy Christmas to Gilly who I hope is alright xx
Stay safe and warm.

Happy Christmas everyone.
The sun is shining but it is cold in Leicestershire.

Zooming with DD and SiL when they get up!
