Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Up early as usual ,nothing much to say only Merry Christmas, to everyone .
I only hope the forthcoming weeks things improve in the UK , as to all the restrictions we face in different parts of the country.
Take Care ,
Mick

A very late good evening to you all. I hope that every one of you has had the best day possible considering the very difficult time we are all going through. Christmas wishes to you all and take care. ??

Well! It's really good evening from me to wish you all a very merry Christmas (or what's left of it!). Different this year, but still much to be thankful for.
Thank you for the blessing Ashcomb - perfect for today. Here's hoping 2021 will bring better and happier times.
Thank you all for your company this year, even tho' I am a 'lurker' flowers

Scentia Fri 25-Dec-20 16:21:34

Well that was rather different than last year. I normally rely on DD for a beautiful vegan Christmas Lunch but did it myself this year, as I said ‘different!!!?’
Rubbish TV by the looks of it too, until call the midwife later!!

EllanVannin Fri 25-Dec-20 15:46:49

Well I couldn't eat a stuffed raisin, phew !
If dad were still here he'd ask me if I fancied some sardines on toast grin He always asked that after a ginormous dinner, such was his humour.
I'll let it go down then I'll have some Christmas pud with cream.( bless me belly ) Good for you though.

What a beautiful dog, Casdon. Welcome and stay safe in - every sense of the word, Grannyjan. How much more do Grans have to put up with being thrown at them this year, I wonder?
Hope you are having the best Christmas Day in spite of all. Do try to post to keep us updated. We've been on the beach in glorious sunshine but wild winds, and are now counting down to our Christmas meal. Happy Christmas!

Casdon Fri 25-Dec-20 14:01:11

Happy Christmas fellow Gransnetters, I hope everybody has an enjoyable day. My dog is very happy with his new bed!

gillybob..if you are reading..and I do hope that you are...maybe a quick Christmas hello from you....hugs to you ??

Gillyanne Fri 25-Dec-20 13:41:31

Merry Christmas and love and peace to all from a cold but sunny Cambs. Sadly its not what we expected but when life throws you lemons enjoy a slice in a glass of G/T and hope for a better future and I will raise my glass to you all tonight and smile at the friendship I have found here with you lovely people.

Jumping in here, encouraged by others today, for my first GN post ... on the very friendly GM thread ... been a lurker throughout most of this weird year, and before, but not brave enough to post till now ... frosty sunny day here in Beds ... house worth a lot to me but bog standard to anyone else ... been here 44 years so it's grown with our family. I'd just like to echo all the thank yous to everyone on this most gentle of threads for keeping us all going this year ... you are all very kind and helpful. Noteworthy today is that we are under threat of evacuation due to rising river levels .. the powers that be frightened newcomers to death yesterday evening by door knocking and telling people to prepare to leave home ... we are old hands and detect a "covering our backs" theme .... we know folk are being flooded out elsewhere, but we know our river ... aaah well, Merry Christmas Grans ...

Merry Christmas from a bright but cold Norfolk.

Zoomed DGS opening his presents at silly o’clock, luckily he doesn’t seem to know anything is different.

Have a good day everyone.

Dwmxwg Fri 25-Dec-20 13:00:42

Not sure if this will be legible. A message from DGS1 left for Father Christmas last night ?

LesLee7 Fri 25-Dec-20 12:58:50

Happy Christmas to everyone.
A quiet day on my own. Hoped to go and see my (last) Auntie who was 92 on 1st but as she is 3 hours away in York won't be able to so had a chat this morning.
It was sunny , bright and cold when I got up in Cheshire. Trying to decide whether to go for a quick walk as I won't eat until later and it's forecast bad weather tomorrow.
Even though the decorations are up it doesn't feel really Christmassy. Got some nice gifts from friends and it's nice to know that some people think about you - I always appreciate whatever I get.
Even if you can't see them this year be thankful if you have family.
Best Wishes to everyone, especially if you are on your own, I know it's not easy at times. Let's hope the New Year brings some respite and things get better. Take Care.

We have our main celebration on Christmas Eve, so slept late til after nine o' clock and woke to hoar frost that had turned the world Christmas card white. And the sun is beaming and has done all day.

A Christmas blessing in itself.

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 25-Dec-20 11:53:16

Love your message Marydoll. Ellanvannin I sympathise with your problem with Ruby-Lou. I'm never quite sure how much Elijah (My DGS who has DS) understands, but I think he understands more than I give him credit for. But he does like his cuddles.
My Christmas tale of my 2 DDs when they were 1 &3. I took them to the local church to hear the Christmas story. All the children where sitting on the floor in a corner. The Curate began the story - next minute a cry went up "My baby sister's getting crumpled". The Curate stepped into the midst of the children and pulled out a furry teddy bear - it was my DD2 in her furry suit.
Merry Christmas!!

Auntieflo Fri 25-Dec-20 11:47:51

Happy Christmas, one and all, to Mick for his lovely thread and Annie, who never forgets me! Bless you.

We have just listened to our Church service .
The turkey is in the oven, all the veg is prepped, and lots has been in the freezer for ease of the kitchen management (Me)
My present, so far, is that my back actually is beginning to feel a lot better.
We have a Zoom, meeting for after the Queen's speech, and we are looking forward that.
Marydoll, hope your freezer contents are OK.

Sending a special hug to Gillybob and her family

?Enjoy your day one and all.?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 25-Dec-20 11:12:12

Good Morning and a Very Merry Christmas to you all from sunny but perishingly cold Harrogate. I see the temperature has risen since I woke up, from - 1 degree to 1 degree.
DH is walking the dog when he get's back we shall have the GC on facetime, they look alike in their matching PJs. DGD informed me yesterday she wanted a 'Moving Dolphin" from Santa!! DGS didn't seem to know, but he wanted a kiss, so I blew him one.
I also loved your vicar's blessing Ashcombe and your DD mistaking Merry for Mary (an easy mistake)

Hope the day is Merry and bright for all

Alygran Fri 25-Dec-20 10:16:36

Ashcombe that blessing brought tears to my eyes. I can hear my late DH saying it (he was a C of E minister alongside his ‘proper job’ as he called it! )

ScotinOz Fri 25-Dec-20 10:11:05

Merry Christmas from Western Sydney (Aus), where the weather was a lovely cool 24 degrees.
We have some restrictions here but none that affect our small family. So it was a lovely quiet day with my DH. DD, DGD and DGS came here for lunch and present opening.

Just about to phone my brother in Glasgow. We were supposed to be surprising him with a New Year visit this year which of course got cancelled.

Keep safe over there x

trisher Fri 25-Dec-20 10:05:26

Past 10 o'clock and a cold frosty morning Past 10 o'clock Good morrow Grans Net all.
Merry Christmas to all including those I have disagreed and argued with in the year. I know some think it's personal it really isn't. The NE is cold and frosty almost a White Christmas.

aggie Fri 25-Dec-20 10:05:23

Happy Christmas all , lovely bright morning here , how the sun cheers us all !

Rosalyn69 Fri 25-Dec-20 10:05:16

Good morning from cold and grey Gower.
Presents opened. Dogs stuffed with treats. Time to put on the festive finery and think about the turkey.

gillgran Fri 25-Dec-20 10:04:52

!! Hope you all have as good a day as possible.!! xx
