Pillows what kind?

I have a shredded memory foam pillow, its a firm pillow and I find it very comfortable.

Memory foam can be too hot. I don't like feathers - too soft and can be noisy. Down is good but expensive. I recently bought one made of microfibre. It is like down, only synthetic and washable. I love it.
When we had a caravan I used to like the Dunlopillo pillow. I think that was latex.
I am really surprised you can return pillows after use.

I have a Dunlopillo pillow. Not cheap but well worth it as they don't go out of shape. Not too soft.

Did the shop staff realise you’d slept on both pillows and removed some filling from one of them? I’m surprised that pillows are returnable.

I have a buckwheat hull pillow. It took a bit of getting used to but I wouldn't have anything else now. If it is too firm you can take out some of the buckwheat until you are happy and comfortable.
It is cool to sleep on, and your head and neck is supported, plus your head doesn't move.
I believe they are popular in Japan.

Buckwheat every time! Fully adjustable by removing some of the husks until it feels right for you. You can buy extra husks, if necessary, to make it firmer. It stays cool, too, which is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned!

Yes I was surprised you were able to exchange pillows Joesoap. I must admit to having a bit of a thing about pillows. I think they harbour germs etc and I can't bear any sort of mark on them and always use protectors. I tried washing pillows without success, they seem to end up lumpy. I change our pillows at least six monthly and have tried most types. I agree with Cabbie about memory foam, I usually end up with microfibre.

Goose feather and down pillow from soak and sleep. £40 per pillow but have had them for five years and they are still perfect.
Think they are £24 in the sale. Well worth it.

Dunlopillo. I have always used them.

DH always manages to mangle his pillow. I've replaced them no end of times. I don't know what he does to them, but they end up as a couple of lumps in a bag, even the expensive ones.

I came to the conclusion that feathers were the only answer - they can be shaken back into place - and it seems to be working......

We have Emma pillows, pricey but are marvellous.I recommended them a while ago and a few GNers have told me they bought them and love them.

I love my Emma mattress,but loathed the pillows!! Still can’t find one I like!

I use a down filled pillow from House of Fraser. On the advice of a physiotherapist I roll up a towel into a tight sausage shape. (I use a thin small bath towel). This is slipped into the pillow protector along the bottom edge of the pillow. It gives good support to my neck and helps me to avoid waking with neck ache!
