How long is a reasonable time (under current lockdown conditions) to consume a whole bag of Cadbury Buttons (the £1 size). Asking for a friend who was highjacked by a display of the same at the till when she went to buy bread?

Possibly the same time it takes to consume a box of maltesers.
Didn't quite make it to the first commercial break grin

Santana Thu 07-Jan-21 11:26:02

I would say 30 mins, which is totally reasonable for me!
This is why I have given up the sugar, as I'm not able to have one chocolate button without eating the rest.

I go through the whole packet in no time at all , so very moorish , mind I do like Lidl’s big chocolate buttons, much better value and equally as nice .

Send them to me and I’ll let you know ?

Wheniwasyourage Thu 07-Jan-21 12:02:10

Depends if you're using one hand or two to put them into your mouth, I would think. grin

Wheniwasyourage Thu 07-Jan-21 12:02:32

Sorry, that's about your friend, obviously.

If you were my DH you would, so annoyingly, make it last for a fortnight. Me? Scoff it in a sitting.

Esspee Thu 07-Jan-21 12:23:29

Asking for a friend are you? ?

Puzzler61 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:28:11

If it’s the giant buttons, about £1 depending where you or your friend buy them ?
will last me the weekend. Half on Friday night watching TV, ditto on Saturday night.
They are more’ish but make me thirsty so then I have a G&T.

It takes longer to open the packet, once open, about 10 minutes they have to have been in the freezer, which increases anticipation.
I love the Twirls also, they last about 5 minutes.

I wish I hadnt seen this thread now am salivating, and guess what no chocolate to be seenenvy

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:41:40

2 minutes max. Or so a friend told me?

MawBe Thu 07-Jan-21 12:42:10

I think considerable research might be required!
Feel free to pass this on to your “friend” ???

DiscoDancer1975 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:44:35

What about the white chocolate buttons? You can eat them so easily at night without them disturbing your sleep. Have been known to go through half a £1 bag in an evening, shared with my husband. The difficulty comes when the family bags are on offer for £1. We still go through them in an evening! Grief, that sounds so bad?

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:45:56

Excuse me ‘sharing’ !! Has the world gone mad.?

It takes a whole evening?

Crikey.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:46:55

Oops , of course all this is relayed to me via my ‘friend’......

She gets stroppy if you try to ‘share’

Beechnut Thu 07-Jan-21 12:49:23

I’m guessing no one has ever used those resealable tabs ??

larry5 Thu 07-Jan-21 12:53:30

I try to avoid chocolate as I am diabetic (very dark chocolate is ok in small amounts) but I am currently isolating with covid so you have now made crave chocolate and I haven't any in the house!

Tangerine Thu 07-Jan-21 12:53:41

I'm like Santana as I would be unable to eat just one chocolate button.

I'm OK having chocolate in the house as long as I don't open it.

cornishpatsy Thu 07-Jan-21 12:55:52

Just to help your friend I shall buy some today and time the eating process.

BigBertha1 Thu 07-Jan-21 13:04:08

Thank you all for the input. My friend was distressed to see they had all gone from the packet in two days!! I think she eats them back to back like a sandwich. I'll advise her to get the Maltesers next- she is staying off the wine during the week so I think we can give her some leeway over this.

GillT57 Thu 07-Jan-21 13:17:17

the concept of 'sharing bag' is as unknown to me my friend as is the idea of 'using left over wine'.

Roses Thu 07-Jan-21 13:17:52

I asked a friend about this and she said you have to eat the whole packet at once, it's the law

GillT57 Thu 07-Jan-21 13:18:32

Beechnut

I’m guessing no one has ever used those resealable tabs ??

Oh, is that what they are?

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 07-Jan-21 13:20:43

IME resealable tabs only work on empty bags

Just sayin...
