Virtual plane trip for Club Gransnet - where to?!

When I first joined, there was a thread suggesting interested parties hire a plane to visit lived ones in NZ/OZ.
Please can we charter another?
I am only now missing my son and his little family in Brisbane. I know he would be pleased to meet you all if you'd like a stopover (?), as much as I would love to see more of these countries- and, maybe, GNetters too.
Any joiners? Where shall we call?
As for creature comforts, I should like, please, proper beds and a shower and the sheer joy of the Argy Bargy staff to organise the drinks and eats (ensuring that we do get to our destination in corpore sano )

Can't it be train? Flying isn't good for the environment

I've never flown so will need a lot of support because the idea terrifies me but could I ask for a stop over in Cape Town so that I can visit my WhatsApp friend in person.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 10-Jan-21 15:01:30

I will hold your hand vampirequeen

I'd like to see the metal trees in Singapore please and stay over at Raffles (newly refurbished).
Pop in to Sydney to visit the rellies then on up the East Coast.

Will we get there sober if that Argy Bargy lot are in charge of the drinks trolley?

Lucca can we spend some time in Sicily and Sardinia too please.
Italy is the place I'm missing most - but have never been to these two islands...

ixion Sun 10-Jan-21 15:11:12

I'll tell my son that he will recognise us by the chanting, if so.
'Ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go, oh

Bermuda would be my choice, please. Spent a wonderful time there years ago and always fancied a return visit.

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 15:14:49

Can we pop to Venice please? It's magical.

Callistemon Sun 10-Jan-21 15:29:07

Where shall we call?
It's going to be a long detour!

Rowantree don’t worry about the environment, I have it on good authority that virtual flights do not harm the environment.
Careful about involving Argy staff Ixion, you don’t want to be cleaning loos on your holiday of a lifetime.
Please may we stop off in Dubai for a night or two in the Burj Al Arab, happy to go anywhere else as long as I end up in Perth with my son and grandchildren.
Easily pleased so a light in flight diet of champagne and caviar will do nicely. I assume we will eat local delicacies during stopovers.
Lovely idea Ixion.

Just drop me off in Switzerland please ixion. I want to walk in the alps again. Oh and pick me up again on your way to Cape Town.

JenniferEccles Sun 10-Jan-21 16:42:38

As it’s so cold today I would like to go back to two small beautifully unspoiled islands in the Grenadines, Mayreau and Bequia.

ixion Sun 10-Jan-21 16:45:20

No problem, AGA.
Perhaps you could bring us some local Swiss delicacies or souvenirs when you re-board?
Chocolate? Cuckoo clock for counting the flight hours left?Alphorn or two for those wanting to learn an instrument?

ixion Sun 10-Jan-21 16:51:32

As they are so beautifully unspoiled, JenniferEccles, it might be preferable to leave the rest of us on the plane.......

AGAA4 Sun 10-Jan-21 16:59:30

I will definitely bring you all some Swiss chocolate ......if I don't eat it all. Maybe not Alphorns as may get a bit noisy.

Witzend Sun 10-Jan-21 17:02:49

West Coast of Barbados, please. Just drop me off at Bridgetown and I’ll get a cab.

eGJ Sun 10-Jan-21 17:03:14

Can you guarantee Sipsmith and Reverse Tree tonic? If so I’m in?

eGJ Sun 10-Jan-21 17:03:32

I mean Fever Tree?
