I would never ask Mr. B to cut my hair. He’d probably use my fabric shears shock

??? Hope you don't have a rotary cutter!! ??

No, I’ve never found them useful. I take it you’re not a hand sewer ?

I could never read a book when my hair is being cut, not even in the hairdressers.
My hair is a short bob. I pinned half up in an elastic band at the back, told my OH to cut the bit below, then drop the rest down and cut it the same length, iykwim.
As I watched in handheld mirror to my horror he was about to just chop the bunch in the elastic band. I just stopped him in time.
Never let OH cut your hair without watching!

He'd built up your confidence and then when you weren't looking .... shock.

I let mine loose on mine once. Once only. I've cut it myself since then . Not been to a hairdresser for 10 months.

Mr R trimmed my hair successfully. I told him a quarter of an inch of the ends and he took me at my word. When I did his after watching a you tube video it didn't quite work out. I just couldn't get the back right and it had all uneven steps in it. He didn't care though. Men! It must be a lot easier to be a man. I would've been furious if it was my hair smile

mercedez It may turn out that he did you a good turn and you like it that length. I had mine cut shorter, good 5 inches off, last August, bit nippy round the neck, I like it shorter. My husband clippers his hair, no way is he coming near me!

No way would I trust Himself anywhere near me with a pair of scissors! My hair needs a good cut (probably like most of us on here!) so I just ‘artfully’ twist some strands and pin them up in a soft up-do. Job done ... for the foreseeable.

look ok for Zooms

Sparklefizz Tue 26-Jan-21 19:32:04

I have trimmed the sides of my bob myself after watching a video on YouTube.... not sure I can manage the back but hey! there's only the cat to see it grin The front and sides look for Zooms.

I wouldn’t trust anybody to cut my hair, I’ve trimmed it myself during lockdown, even the hairdresser last year cut too much off, just as well as I haven’t been since!

Mercedez shock - you've frightened me!
I'm about to ask my husband to cut my hair, which is quite long and very thick now. He's a bit gung-ho when he gets the scissors in his hand.
I wish I could do it myself.
If I told him " 2 inches all over " would that be a bubble cut?

Didn’t we have this thread before it seems very familiar or was that someone else with a hair cutting husband !!!

FannyCornforth Tue 26-Jan-21 19:06:24

Why on earth were you reading a book? Surely you should have been watching what he was doing? The fault is all yours, I'm afraid.

Growing already ? Wow

mercedez Tue 26-Jan-21 18:36:59

I have stopped ranting and am making a real effort with my makeup, the glasses will be here soon. It’s just a surprise when I look in the mirror, it’s growing on me a little though.

Tangerine Tue 26-Jan-21 18:26:39

If the new style looks good, I'd trust him again. I know you screamed when you first saw it but are you getting used to it?

A change can be rejuvenating.

Bridgeit Tue 26-Jan-21 18:25:49

Not for a LONG time ?

mercedez Tue 26-Jan-21 18:17:46

My husband has been colouring and cutting my hair during lockdown rather well, until yesterday that is!! The colour was a lot darker than I wanted but that was my fault, then came the trim!! I perched on a stool, (not in front of a mirror) reading The Night Manager and let him loose with the scissors. He started at the back then came to the front measuring both sides meticulously and announced that it looked lovely. Well I screamed when I saw it, then shouted, I didn’t recognise myself, instead of having long hair I looked like a 1930’s flapper! He’s always wanted me to have short hair. My daughter said it looks better! So now I am changing my lipstick and have ordered some modern glasses. Should I trust him again?
