Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, but remains dry here in Brackley tis morning .
Yesterday, felt a little under the weather , so took paracetamols, to ease it.
Also had my re appointment for my jab which will be the phizer one , a week tomorrow .
Plus more cardiac appointments, still not a 100% but I getting there with the lockdown, the need to actually go out apart from a small shop at a steady pace.
Mick

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where we are only 4°C but at least no ice and snow. I am going to drive my car to the Dentist in another town this morning and I am a little anxious about it as I haven't driven it since Christmas. It's a bit noisy but it does start and a mechanic unlocked a seized brake with a hammer (the car not the tooth)

I am glad that Iris is up and perky again. What a trouper! and her grandMattie is happier doing nothing.
I'm like the Greek Penelope, unpicking the knitting I did yesterday and redoing it in the hope it will look a bit better.

Whatever you are up to or not up to today try to enjoy it.

Ashcombe Fri 19-Feb-21 08:13:07

A late good morning from a showery Torbay! Last night, I forgot to take my heart medication at bedtime so had fewer trips to the bathroom and slept deeply!

So glad to hear that Iris is making good progress and grandMattie is feeling better. Good luck with the dentist!

Yes, Urmstongran, the vaccination programme is a great success but I also hope that the government proceeds cautiously, for everyone's sake.

Happy weekend, everyone! When teaching, Fridays were always my favourite day of the week. Only five weeks until the Equinox! ?? ?

grandMattie Fri 19-Feb-21 08:13:38

Thank you for your kind thoughts. I’m not nervous at the dentist, it’s just such an unpleasant procedure! BTW the tooth is giving me no pain at all but probably not doing me any good.

Greyduster Fri 19-Feb-21 08:22:25

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It is grey wet and miserable in South Yorkshire and I am in no mood to get up and do anything as I am full of cold. In fact, I’m going into one of those phases where I don’t care if I never go out again, but DH will not allow negativity in any form so I will have to pull myself round. So, today we are going to call over to DD’s with some of our butcher’s chicken pies, which SiL loves, and wave to GS (?who his mama referred to as a “stroppy teenager” yesterday!) and maybe have a walk around the woods - if the rain stops.
They’re taking their time, your girls, then, Sheep? My first born was like that - in no hurry!
Have a good day, folks.

Taichinan Fri 19-Feb-21 08:29:48

Good morning all. Wild wet and windy on the Angus coast today.
Lovely to hear that Iris is doing so well, and also that Grandmattie and Urms are feeling brighter today.
Had some lovely news yesterday - DGD1 has received an unconditional offer of a place at Dance school! I saw the video of her performing the dance she choreographed - I'm not surprised she heard back so quickly! She is still waiting to hear back from the other college to which she applied and which is her preferred course so it's still ? -but so good to know she has something, come what may.
Off down to the town in a little while for a dental appointment - just a check up and nothing nasty I hope. Good luck with yours Grandmattie.
I shall then pop into the butcher's and fishmonger's - first time since December, and it feels like a definite step in the right direction!
Have the best day possible everyone, and thoughts with those with troubles. ???

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining at the moment but set to brighten up later.
I have a food shopping slot at 10 and then I am going to the garden centre for some early spring flowers to brighten the garden up a bit. Despite the rain and snow the soil isn’t too soggy.
Good news of Iris. Hope the dentist visit goes ok GM.
I’m still waiting on the vaccine call. I can book on line but all the appointments are a bit far away. I would have to drive myself so am a bit worried in case I don’t feel ok afterwards. Our local centre is for all the GP practices so isn’t online for booking, My turn will come.
Hope everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 19-Feb-21 08:30:02

Good morning Mike and everyone, from a wet and windy Oxfordshire, although it started like this yesterday and then the sun came out and it was a lovely day, at least what there was left of it after I got out of bed.
Not feeling so bad today after my wobble, thanks for all of your good wishes. DH treated us to a fish and chip supper last night, our last day of being able to go out as we are now isolating ready for DDs op. She can’t wait to be able to walk up the stairs again!
Anyway not much planned indoors today, but I do like to hear everyone’s news,

I really am going to live life vicariously for the next 2 weeks or so and I’m relying on you lovely people to keep me amused!

Hope the lambing goes well on the farm, the sheep in the field down the road were noisy yesterday, so maybe they were moving them indoors too ? and poor Iris! Hopefully she will soon be as good as new, children do bounce back don’t they, (thankfully.)

Bellasnana Fri 19-Feb-21 08:31:59

Good morning from Malta. Sunny and 16°C but cold in the house. Our homes are designed to keep heat out rather than in.

I was run ragged yesterday looking after DD3’s puppy. He’s getting very lively and mischievous. My older dog tolerates him, just about!

Glad to hear Iris will be going home and I hope she makes a good recovery. Also glad you are feeling a bit more cheerful grandMattie. We all have those days when it is a struggle, I certainly do and I find it very hard not having my DH here to share the worries.

Hairdresser later then I shall pick up the puppy and look after him until DD3 finishes work. My poor floors will not stay clean for long, I washed them all first thing but two dogs pratting about soon makes it paw mark central.

Am now going to watch Djokovic playing Tsitsipas. It would be great to see the underdog win for a change but it will be a tough ask.

Grandmafrench,I love your dream of meeting all the GM team, especially if cake is involved. ???

Take care everyone.☀️

P.S. photo of my dog Buzz keeping an eye on Milo the pup. His expression looks as if he’s wondering where life went wrong.?

Pittcity Fri 19-Feb-21 08:33:14

Good morning from a grey Colchester. Double figured temperature later but feeling lower with wind chill. Rain later too.
Washing, ironing and a short walk to Lidl to stock up for the weekend.
Hoping for a call confirming our moving date too.
The skies were clear last night so we went outside to look at Mars and wonder what they might find there!

harrigran Fri 19-Feb-21 08:34:13

Good morning from a dry but very windy NE.
Did some window cleaning yesterday, phew, most activity I have done in months.
Lucky dip from freezer today for lunch, I actually found a couple of restaurant meals that I froze before the end of the year. Think we will add a glass of wine and pretend we are out for lunch.
Enjoying reading about life on the farm, love to see newborn lambs.

Jaxjacky Fri 19-Feb-21 08:34:55

Good morning from a grey, mild S Hants, a bit blowy too. Pleased you’re feeling better Urmstongran hungry is a good sign. Well done Iris, onwards. Poised for action sheep, a well practiced routine I expect.
Got out early to the farm shop yesterday, job done. Chemist later today to pickup prescription and a walk before the afternoon rain swings in. Thoughts with Auntieflo and Georgesgran. Have a gentle day all.

Stilllearning Fri 19-Feb-21 08:35:44

Morning from a grey, wet S Lanarkshire, think it’s going to be like that all day.
I read most of yesterday’s posts last night and was so happy for you baubles, a lovely face time contact with grandchildren is just the best.
No plans today, I’ll try to stay off the phone and get some work done, that might give me an appreciation of ‘the weekend’.
Good wishes for the day everyone, especially to all those struggling, physically or emotionally.

Urmstongran Fri 19-Feb-21 08:40:24

Gingster could you not just telephone the hospital? The switchboard will put you through to an office where your sister in law’s ward will be logged & then ask them to put you through. The nurse on the ward will tell her you’d rung and she’d be pleased to know family had enquired after her.

Taichinan what great news about your great granddaughter. She’s obviously a very talented young lady - no wonder you’re delighted! Lovely news indeed.

Bellasnana Fri 19-Feb-21 08:42:46

Oops! Made a mistake. I meant to say Medvedev v Tsitsipas not Djokovic. Watched him yesterday.?

Forsythia Fri 19-Feb-21 08:43:07

Good morning from Surrey where today it’s dry but windy. We had our jabs yesterday and by the evening i felt really tired and achey. Today, much the same but hope to blow the cobwebs away later with a gentle walk.
Wishing good wishes to all and hope you have a good day wherever you are.

hollysteers Fri 19-Feb-21 08:43:51

Good morning Mick and all from Windy Way, northwest coast.
Exciting day today, off to drop in my blood pressure chart to doc, leave some books and magazines in the railway station waiting rooms and actually go into a supermarket, first time in weeks. Ran out of cat food, so presented her with a tin of tuna, which went down well. Also starting a new novel by Elizabeth Bowen, The House in Paris. Sounds nice, but I haven’t got on with her in the past, so we’ll see. A good book is important at the mo.
Thinking of Auntieflo, Georgesgran and anyone with troubles.

Grandmabatty Fri 19-Feb-21 08:53:35

Good morning all from Polmont where it's very wet and very windy. I'm going nowhere today. I picked up my new specs yesterday and they are lovely and light. I am very short sighted so the lenses are incredibly thick but I paid extra for thinner ones and they're a delight. I really need to clean the kitchen today as I've let it go for a couple of days. I would be overjoyed and mortified if I had visitors call, in equal measure. Good luck at the dentist grandmattie and I'm glad you are feeling better Urmstongran. Sorry to hear you aren't feeling great Marydoll. Have a good day all

baubles Fri 19-Feb-21 08:58:01

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s wet and wild here too, I can cope with rain but hate the wind, we’ll be blown off our feet and paws later.

Glad to hear that you’re feeling brighter GM and that Iris is going home to enjoy her scrapbooking.

Congratulations to your talented GD Taichinan. Hope you have a better day Marydoll.

This may be a daft question s&c, but when the ram is in how do you know when all the ewes have been covered, do you have to stay with them them for the whole three weeks?

Your salad sounds delicious Gagagran, it would taste so light and fresh after all the winter stodge (me, not you!).

Sending good wishes to everyone who is feeling ill, has dental or medical appointments, or is just a little under par. Have the best day possible. thanks

GrannySomerset Fri 19-Feb-21 09:00:10

Red Letter day today - weekly trip to Tesco! How on earth did it come to this?

Grey but looks dry though the forecast suggests a lot of rain in the next few days, but at least we are not frozen.

Great news about Iris, sorry Marydoll is still suffering, love the farming update and hope for a good enough day. Thinking of the much missed EV and of all with pain and worries.

Anniebach Fri 19-Feb-21 09:03:21

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Nannagarra Fri 19-Feb-21 09:15:43

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
I have been toying with the idea of cycling to DS2’s house to post an ‘enjoy your new home’ card but as it’s quite blustery here the possibility of being forcefully blown in one direction and given an extreme workout in the other doesn’t appeal!
grandMattie, it’s lovely to hear such uplifting news of Iris. I hope you too are feeling better today. May I join in the collective hug from GNers; it is so richly and rightly deserved.
Although I haven’t specifically mentioned individual grans with worries and troubles they are in my thoughts.
On a lighter note, where is the Warburtons Warrior, the Crumpet Queen, the Felines’ Friend? Maybe she’s written this morning. As I haven’t yet read today’s posts I might be in for a treat.
It’s so heartening to see the growing number of ‘yes please to the vax, we’re getting there, we can see freedom’ brigade. ?

grannysyb Fri 19-Feb-21 09:18:18

Good morning all from Teddington, up late as I slept in. Spent most of yesterday in bed as I had a migraine, not had one for a long time. Still feeling slightly left over. Glad to hear Iris is going home. Hope the lambs start to appear soon. That is one lovely puppy, the expression on the older dogs face is priceless! Hope everyone has the best day possible.

polomint Fri 19-Feb-21 09:29:10

Good morning from central scotland. A very wet, wild and windy day. I dont like wind at all so no walk for me today. Take care

annsixty Fri 19-Feb-21 09:35:00

Good morning all.
It is windy and very dull in Stockport.
The usual “not much today” but my cleaner is coming later this morning, she wasn’t well yesterday.
I don’t enjoy it when she is here, I love the clean house when she has been.
My Daughter out law took me to M&S simply food on Wednesday afternoon, first time in nearly a year.
I was like a child in a sweet shop, at last we have some different meals, online shopping means samey meals.
I must get going and get dressed.
So pleased Iris may be home and kindest thoughts to all not in the brightest of spirits.
“Tomorrow will be a good day”

muse Fri 19-Feb-21 09:38:02

Good Morning. Grey and windy here too in Cornwall. Back from quick trot with Mya. 4th clear night for her and she's wolfed her dry food + a bit of scrambled egg down just now.

Bad night's sleep. Got about 2 hours.

We were Pfizered Mick. Neither of us had side effects. An achey arm for a day that's all. There's bound to be someone but I've yet to hear of anyone with side effects from the pfizer vaccine.

S&C Lovely June, Bless her. We have sheep in the field by our track. Looking forward to seeing the lambs. Mya can never take her eye off them.

GM I'm sure the removal will go well. You sound like you had a similar removal before. Is it followed quickly by a replacement? Good to here about Iris. Good luck with yours next week Marydoll. Last week's delivery is probably lurking in the back of the fridge.

Urm A good sleep works wonders. I expect I'll be nodding this afternoon to make up for lost sleep last night.

Take care everyone.
