I've always known I have this particular talent and I've always been extremely good at it. Since lockdown however, I've discovered I'm absolutely bloody fantastic at it. I know you're all dying to know what it is, well ....... wait for it, it's called procrastination! I excel at it! It took me 40 mins to get dressed after my shower this morning for example. What was I doing in that time? Nothing at all- any other GNers out there have this special talent?

Oh yes, I could get a PhD in procrastination?‍??

Me! Me! Bet I'm better than you!

It's a relief to find my talent as I was worried I hadn't got one at all!!

Oh yes, indeed. In fact typing this only seconds after I read your post would be considered quite fast for me.

I'd rather read, knit or sew than anything else. It must be weeks since I ran the vacuum round and yesterdays ironing won't do itself, will it?

I am extremely proud to have been told that my special talent was lowering the tone in the Staff Room.
I'm trying hard to keep up my image!

I feel better now after admiring all the various crafting people on GN, a skill I can now excel in! Thank you grannyrebel17

I have found my people!
My idea of getting things done, is to look for anything else to delay me in getting things done.
Sometimes thinking about getting things done, tires me out so much, I have no energy left to get things done.

What is this life, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?
That is my talent now. I can stand and stare for Scotland.

I find it takes me all day to do nothing.

I hold the title of "Best Procrastinator in the World" by the
ASSP's (Association of Supremely Stupid Procrastinators).

If it was an olympic event i would win the gold medal.

May I join the club? I’m well qualified. I enjoy thinking so I’m not actually doing nothing, just going over things, or conversing (silently) with myself.

Me too

Daddima Fri 19-Feb-21 12:45:37

They all visit me regularly.

Kate1949 Fri 19-Feb-21 12:49:24

Me too. When we used to go out with daughter and son-in-law, DD would say to SIL 'What time shall we pick mum and dad up'. He would say 'We'll pick them up half an our before we really need to. That will give your mum plenty of time to faff'.blush

It is an artform! wink

No! to all of you, I'm the best, why I could represent England in procrastination, I've elevated it to a fine art.........and I'm getting better all the time. It's taken me several weeks to work up the effort to renew my driving licence, we've just moved. First, spend a few days, talking about going to the Post Office to get the form. Eventually go to the Post Office where nice lady informed me filling it in is almost a Herculean task, insomuch that only a black biro is acceptable shock thus imbuing me with a creeping feeling of trepidation before I even start and sending my desire to procrastinate and just ponder on that into the stratosphere. Take brown envelope home look at it for a few days. Get ready to fill it in, search for black biro, can't find it hmm Consider purchasing another black biro, spend several days ruminating on that. Buy one! Almost ready. Talk to husband about filling in the form, put it off for another couple of days. After innumerable "for God's sake fill that form in will you" needless to say he'd done his, I got round to it yesterday. At least 3 cups of strong coffee were required, to get myself firing on all cylinders, newly purchased black biro at the ready, and a steady hand to make sure my signature didn't stray anywhere outside the box God forbid shock Today, my task, to post form off to DVLA. Thus I will have achieved something this week!

I loved an interview a while back, I think on Graham Norton's show with Matt Le Blanc (Joey from Friends) when asked what he was doing with himself, with a big grin he answered honestly "nothing!" and then added "I just love doing nothing!" .........Refreshing, we can't all save the world smile
