Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and another dry and bright start to the day here in Brackley .
Looking outside its full of the signs of spring , even the trees are showing budding.
Today , my penultimate day of wearing my ECG mentor.
A little bit of exercise with it on such as housework and do a small shop , before settling down and watching cycling on TV .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Mick and all from a calm and fine Torbay. You seem to have coped well with the heart monitor, Mick.

Yesterday, I was very touched by the heartwarming comments received from so many on this thread regarding the beautiful crocheted blanket I received from my son's partner for Mothering Sunday. More than 20 of you made such lovely remarks that I shared them with the creator, who was equally delighted. My thanks to you all.

It sounds like many of you enjoyed your special day and the chance to reconnect with loved ones in some way. I had a good Zoom chat with DD1 and family, with DGS2 and DGD regaling us with tales of being back in school. DGS2 hates the earlier rising now required but enjoyed being with his teacher again. Heaven help him from September when he will need to be up even earlier to travel to the next town for high school!

Gagagran: you must be proud of your DD for volunteering at the vaccination centre. I hope your DH's continuing progress enables you to feel less worried.
Good luck to Bellasnana for today - not the best way to have spent Mothering Sunday, preparing for the procedure. I hope the potential lamb buyers turned up sheepandcattle and you’ve slept better.

Have a good week, everyone, and keep going towards the light of longer days and normal life resuming. ??‍?‍?‍?????‍♀️????????????‍♀️

Good morning Mick and everyone,
better weather in the UK than here in Germany . A wet, grey day is forecasted. Oh well, grandkids this afternoon we,re baking a birthday cake for my DD so that will be fun!
Enjoy today everyone

Pantglas2 Mon 15-Mar-21 06:27:50

Good morning Mick and all who follow - my first daffodils are open - DH says they’ve been hibernating cos of COVID!

A trot to Lidl later then I’ll catch up with everyone’s doings so hope you’re all up to no good and make me smile ?.....

grandMattie Mon 15-Mar-21 06:28:23

Good morning from a pink dry E Kent.
Had two unexpected calls from my DSs yesterday. Nice long chat with DS1 in India, me snivelling half the time, and a short call from DS2 inviting himself and his boy to lunch today. Which is why I have a cake in the oven at the moment! Apricot and (freeze dried) raspberry. Makes it look a rather lurid pink, but delicious.
DGS mum wrote a charming litt piece on her Fb page thanking me for the support over the years. More snivelling!
Got my lovely chaps to lunch today. What else can a woman want?
Hope today is filled with random ???????and brings relief to troubles and pain. ☀️❤️?

Nannytopsy Mon 15-Mar-21 06:43:09

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
The cat woke us at 5.30 and I was surprised to see how light it was. When the clocks change the days will be longer and fingers crossed for better weather to match!
Of course, both cat and DH have gone back to sleep. I intend to get up early today. We were in the middle of straightening a row of railway sleepers yesterday morning when DS and DGC arrived with flowers and gin. We walked up to the park and then it was time for the rugby so our job didn’t get finished. Never mind, today’s another day.
I hope S&C ‘s lambs were collected and good luck Bellasnana today and was it Corner too?
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

cornergran Mon 15-Mar-21 06:43:30

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a chilly start to our corner of Somerset. The sky hasn’t decided whether or not to clear.

Quiet day yesterday. Family contact, flower delivery and a film sums it up. Good enough. Forgot to phone a friend as I had intended, feel guilty about that now and will call her this morning.

Good luck thoughts for bellasnana, soon be over now. My turn tomorrow so a food-less day for me. I know you’ll enjoy lunch grandMattie, the cake sounds delicious.

Take care everyone. Hope Monday is gentle with us all.

grandMattie Mon 15-Mar-21 06:44:23

Oh, good luck Bellasnana. Hope tour “-oscopie/s” go well with the desired results. ❤️

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. How lovely to wake up and it’s light. Also dry.

I had a great time with my daughter yesterday. The journey over seemed to take forever though as I got behind tractor and trailers a few times and my car hasn’t got the oomph (bit like me) to pass and I’m not really an over taker. I also had the unexpected pleasure of seeing my son in law.

Keep taking care all and sending my best wishes to those of you with procedures today and this week. I won’t say who in case I miss someone out ?

Dwmxwg Mon 15-Mar-21 06:51:52

Good morning all from a dry north Surrey.
Very quick visit to mum and dad yesterday to deliver card and presents. Alway difficult to know what to get mum as she keeps reading the same books and is always wanting to give “things” away that she has been give over the years. Took lots of bird food for her feeders as she get pleasure watching them from her kitchen window.
Received beautiful gifts from my AC with kinds words written in their cards and home made cards from the boys. Roast dinner with DD and the boys ended a special day.
I am back at work this afternoon so just a tidy and bit of vacuuming this morning.
Bellasnana hope your procedure is soon done and you are back home
Wishing all a good day

Scentia Mon 15-Mar-21 06:56:46

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it looks damp.
I slept from 8.00pm last night until 6.30am that is a first for me!
Off to work shortly and then I hope the material has arrived for the second pair of curtains I am making for DD as she wants some for the nursery. The others must have been ok!
I hope you are all feeling as well as you can, if you have appointments or procedures today, hope they go ok. Take care all?❤️

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it has rained during the night but is brightening now.
DH has an early doctors appointment so must make sure he is up in time.
Did anyone watch Countryfile yesterday with all the lambs being born, I thought of Sheepandcattle and all the hard work she must do. Well done to her ??.
Not a lot on the agenda today. Washing and housework, can't wait !!!
Enjoy your day and find your ? xx

Sheepandcattle Mon 15-Mar-21 07:04:34

Good morning Mick and all from a dry and mild Wiltshire and thankfully, the blasted, cold wind seems to have left us. grandMattie - it sounds like you had a lovely, emotional day yesterday. I find that it takes very little to turn me into an emotional wreck at present. I think it’s due to the past year of being separated from family and loved ones. I’ll never take them for granted again! The person came and collected 6 of my orphan ewe lambs yesterday - nice people who have a small flock of sheep and want some new bloodlines for breeding, so that’s a happy future for the 6 little girls. It’s made the orphan pen into less of a bun-fight at feeding time with 6 less hungry mouths. Pinchy continues to go from strength to strength. I’ve emailed a video of her to a friend of mine in Australia who is a equine physiotherapist for her opinion on her wonky legs and if there’s anything that she can suggest to help improve them.
Today is my aunt’s funeral. I shall watch it online as it’s too far for me to travel and limited numbers only.
I have the last of last year’s lambs ( now called hoggets as they are a year old) to sort today that will go to market tomorrow if they are ready as well as the usual farm jobs so a fairly busy day ahead of me. Sometime this week I intend to start getting the garden put to rights but as always, the farm jobs have to come first.
Wishing you all a productive and satisfying Monday - Spring really is just around the corner now! ???☀️

Urmstongran Mon 15-Mar-21 07:08:44

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and seems mild with pockets of blue sky in between banks of white cloud.

A day confined to barracks as (a) the contractors will be coming on site at 8am and decking outside our front door is being replaced and (b) the cooker man is bringing a replacement hob to fit after lunch.

Hope Monday is good to us all. Good luck with your investigations today Bellasnana and I hope the results show nothing to be concerned about. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

NanKate Mon 15-Mar-21 07:08:49

Good morning Mick and All.

Calm, cool day in South Bucks.

Can I add to the comments Ascombe on the beautiful blanket. Purples are my favourite colour too.

Thinking of you Bellasnana, that will be me in a few weeks and I want it all over and done with now !

Anniebach sent you a pm.

Qigong this morning. The dentist and hygienist today for us both. That will cost a pretty penny but they do a great job.

Another week down until we have some more freedom. ?

Pittcity Mon 15-Mar-21 07:09:40

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Had a busy day yesterday and didn't have time to post.
We are getting to know our new house and slowly unpacking. The furniture was moved twice yesterday and I'm still not sure it's right wink
Laundry is today's priority.
Much love x

GrannyGravy13 Mon 15-Mar-21 07:13:41

Good morning Mick and all

As Sar53 has said it’s brightening up here. Thinking of Bellasnana ?

Ironing today is a must, I have been putting it off!!!

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Good morning GNetters! It's bright with broken cloud up north. I don't often drop into this thread but its heartwarming to read Sheepandcattle's message every time I do! Yesterday was spent preparing vegetable beds for the eventual planting and I had a long telephone chat to my daughters too.

Wishing everyone the best day possible and sending extra good wishes to all those who might be struggling just now or having medical treatment, do take care. Warm wishes to all!

brook2704 Mon 15-Mar-21 07:18:25

Good morning everyone from a bright dry and cold Inverness, there’s bits of blue sky so it’s looking promising.
I had a bit of a lazy day yesterday just pottering in and out of the garden and in the evening started on my Mother’s Day chocolates .... So today it’s definitely out for a walk somewhere and try to work off some calories!
Hoping all goes well today Bellas and you too tomorrow Corner
Good news about the orphan lambs sheep I hope they settle into their new home well.
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings ?

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. The sky is bright, I hope it continues to be so.

Good luck with the procedures Bellasnana.

I’m seriously impressed by you having a cake in the oven at that time in the morning gm, it sounds delicious.

I put the kitchen back together yesterday after the painting, I’m pleased with it. Now of course I’m noticing lots of places which could do with freshening up.

Today will be a little sad, I have two funerals to log into.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

grandmajet Mon 15-Mar-21 07:31:28

Good morning from a dry but cloudy Nottinghamshire.
I was keen to check in today hoping for news of Pinchy. I’m so glad he seems to be making progress and is probably blissfully unaware that he has problems, as he has nothing to compare it to. Keep drinking the milk, Pinchy.
I had one of those annoying nights where I woke at about 1.30 and couldn’t get back to sleep. I ended up downstairs with tea, toast, and an episode of A Place in the Sun! I expect a doze later will be on the cards.
Enjoy today in whatever way you can, everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Mar-21 07:33:02

Good morning Mick and all from a dry, clearing S Hants, off to the farm shop soon for a veg stock up. Hoping Bellas oscopy is all good and swiftly over, corner that your not too uncomfortable with your prep.
I start a week of home BP measurements today, just part of yearly check up, appointment next week for bloods. I detest the bp machine, totally illogical, just part of my health anxiety that lurks.
Anyway, hoping you all have a gentle day with sun, flamingoes or both.

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Mar-21 07:34:29

Good morning all from a beautiful, blue skied Polmont where it is 4°. It's been chilly in the night but lovely out now. Don't blue skies make you feel better?
Thoughts for Bellasnanna for today and Cornergran for tomorrow. I hope the 'oscopies are over quickly. Pittcity I love moving furniture about! Unfortunately in my wee house that's not really possible which I find a shame.
Today is a babysitting one. We'll go out for a walk and get up to our usual silliness. I'm going to stay for tea when I take him home so that will be nice. My son made me a mother's Day brunch yesterday and bought me tomato plants as a gift. He never does mother's day so that was a surprise. I visited mum who was fine. She can be very difficult so it was good to see the old mum there.
Yesterday was nicer than I expected. I spent some time with both my children at different times. I am worried about my sil though. He's been unwell since New year and, despite numerous tests, they can't get to the bottom of what's wrong. He's been referred to the hospital now. It's very worrying.
Anyway I am about to drink my second cup of coffee so I will love you and leave you. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Mon 15-Mar-21 07:45:29

Good morning all from a cold, but sunny Glasgow.
I want to wish Bellasnanna all the best for today and hope it isn't too unpleasant.

Everyone seems to have had a very pleasant day yesterday. My younger son, the bearded red haired giant, turned up unexpectedly with his fiancée carrying beautiful flowers, he had asked DD to keep it a secret.
The tears flowed as I haven't seen him since before my heart attack, when lockdown got in the way and I thought that night in hospital, I might never see him again.
DD had told him I was unwell and very low, so he made the decision to come.
I am really fond of his fiancée, who is so interesting to talk to. She is involved in the refurbishment of the Burrell Museum and has so many tales to tell.
Yesterday's conversation involved moths as they have an infestation in their Victorian cottage and she was transferring her expertise from protecting tapestries to protecting her sweaters! ?
The visit worked out really well, as his birthday is next Sunday and I was able to give him his gifts.

I have to dash, as today is my dental appointment to replace my front tooth and treat the infection in the one beside it. No antibiotics allowed, due to being on biologics!
I do not know how I'm going to able to lie in the chair for an hour and a half with RA in my jaw. The last appointment was very difficult and uncomfortable, but I have my big girls pants on and will try to block it out. I shall look on this as a positive experience, I'm being released from shielding, albeit temporarily! ?
I had hoped to drive myself, but DH has insisted on coming with me, in case anything goes wrong.

The plan is my usual distraction practice, counting forwards and backwards in French, German and Italian, to take my mind off things! Numerous medical procedures have made me quite proficient over the years.
The worry is I probably won't reach one hundred, as I'm so rusty! I may resort to counting the ceiling tiles.

Wishing you all a very pleasant day and as usual, hugs and prayers for all who are struggling.?
I will read all your posts in the dentist waiting room!

harrigran Mon 15-Mar-21 07:45:58

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
I had a lovely day yesterday, DH gave me chocolates when he made my morning tea.
Family arrived after lunch and stood on the drive, DH stood at the music room open window and I went outside to talk. Both GDs had written me a card as well as one from DS and DIL and GD2 had baked me a cake and iced it.
DD and SIL skyped me and we had a long chat, one of the cats kept walking in front of the monitor and dug her claws in to DD because she was not paying attention to her.
DH has hospital appointment at 10am and 2pm so I think I will make some soup.
So nice to hear about everyone's mothering Sundays.
