Good Morning Monday

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels mild.
Some lovely weather for us over the next few days.
I will be going into the factory this morning to do some deliveries and have a bit of a clear out of the shelves, I will only stay until everything is in as we have no work at the moment. Hope that doesn’t last long!
I am having done friends over on Good Friday if it stays dry for an Easter Egg hunt some hot cross buns and just a bit of beer!
I do hope everyone makes the most of the good weather we are expecting and gets out and about.

Good morning Mick and all you early risers from a dry (and dark!) Torbay. I hope everyone has adjusted to the new time even though it seemed to be a problem for the GN site yesterday morning. Thank you for taking the plunge, Beechnut, when it was back on track. It has become a welcome part of the morning routine for so many of us.

I smiled about the cornflour/custard powder confusion, Beechnut. As a teenager, my DD1 worked in Little Thief, next door to Burglar Thing (so named by current DH!). One day whilst preparing a dessert, she used paprika in mistake for cinnamon! Oops!

The Bahrain GP was exciting but I won’t spoil it by mentioning names in case any of you still wish to watch it. A good start to the season.

Reading back through yesterday's GM thread, I see many had roast chicken yesterday. I chose salmon as a friend was due to ring at 8.00p.m. so I needed something easy between Zooming with DH and speaking to her.

I hope everyone starts the week feeling refreshed especially Marydoll after her event over the w/e, also muse with sciatica. Lovely photos, Alygran and the one from grandMattie. No doubt your walk with bereaved friend, dragonfly46 brought comfort to her. Take care not to overdo it, EkwaNintee. Morning all from a very grey and cloudy (from what I can see of it) south coast. 9.2c though, so I am hoping for the nice warm day we have been told to expect.

When I got up to go to the bathroom at 2am I thought the light had been left on but it was the most brilliant moon shining in. Really lovely. Reminded me of the Walter de la Mare poem "Slowly, silently, now the the moon walks the night in her silver shoon...."

DGD1 is due back from university today and we are hoping that she calls in to see us in the garden, as she has promised she will. It will be a great tonic for her Grandad to see her smiling face. She was a faithful visitor to see him in his 5 weeks in hospital last summer.

DD borrowed our old, garage fridge yesterday for the third time in as many weeks. Their giant American-style one had conked out again despite being mended twice before by the accredited engineer. They are giving up on it now and ordering a replacement. Meanwhile our 20+ year old, battered, spare, from the garage, used to store soft drinks, keeps performing. I have warned it that it will be off to the tip if it stops!

Hope the day is a good one for us all.

Good morning from Essex by the sea where we are due to have lots of sun over the next few days.
We are off to B&Q this morning, DH wants to buy a sander, then a quick trip to Lidl for bread and milk.
Lovely for some to be able to meet up outside with family members, unfortunately my daughters live too far away. It will be May/June before I can see them, I cannot wait.

Good morning all from north Surrey, we too are promised a few warm days.
Just had message to say DGS2 test was negative so one less thing to worry about. From the anxious start to the day we ended up having a lovely lunch with DD and boys. DD was telling us “dad jokes”, the 9year old was giggling so much but the 6 year old didn’t get many of them, really highlighted the difference in their age group comprehension.
With restrictions lifted, DH is off for a walk with 5 friends, it had been a regular Monday meet up with pub lunch too so it will be great for them to get together again after so long. DH is a much more social person than I so will do him good to have male company.
I will walk the dog, do a few exercises and some phone calls before my late shift.

Apparently the beautiful moon I saw during the night is known as a Worm Moon. Just read that! We learn something new every day.

Good morning all from a newish member in East Yorkshire. I saw the moon last night as I went to bed at 10.30 it was surrounded by cloud and on the edge of the cloud there was an orangey tinge to it. Rather unusual. I took photos but it didn’t show up.
Today I shall be putting up a few Easter decorations and going out for a walk. Bit of cooking to do also but otherwise an easy day.

Good morning all from a very wet and windy Polmont. It was blowing a hoolie last night. Today is babysitting duties for me so I'm up to get ready for a toddler hoolie blowing through my house. I had a very lazy day yesterday and slept unbelievably well which is a rarity. I expect we will be puddle splashing at some point today. Have a good day all

Good morning all from Derbyshire where it's warming up but still looks pretty breezy out there.

Now we're allowed to, we're planning to call in at my DS's this afternoon and see him and his family. It will be lovely to see our youngest DGS who is 20 mths old.

DH has cleaned and tidied the patio and uncovered the garden furniture ready for the nice weather we are expecting, while I sowed seeds in the greenhouse. I quite like this working arrangement we have, he's always willing to do the harder work! ? No doubt his shorts will be brought out of winter storage before the day is out.

Good morning from the NE where it is mild but very windy.
I had a phone call yesterday to say I am having my second vaccination on Easter Saturday, I am so happy.
The first of my parcels arrived from the big river yesterday afternoon, I will restock the bookcase.
Will do some housework this morning so that I am quiet during the afternoon, DH has to lie down all afternoon.
Good to know restrictions are easing.

Grey but mild in South Bucks today.

I only have 2 days of release from this Lockdown as the hospital has insisted I have a 2 week Lockdown before I go in for my colonoscopy, I’m scuppered ?. I’m the sociable one of us two so am counting the days now till I can meet up with friends. DH is more than happy pootling about at home. He’s kept me good company.

Struggling to wake this morning, disturbed night again. Phone call from a physio about my knee this morning. Meeting a GN friend for a walk this afternoon, haven’t seen her for 5 months, just hope the state of my hair doesn’t have her running screaming .

Hello grandmadinosaur, good to see you. Hope the work picks up scentia. Good to know some of you will be seeing family. Hope to see ours very soon, distance can be a barrier though.

Heavy rain and strong winds = another day indoors. Not that I would be able to do much outside as I have jiggered my left knee by reliving my youth and jigging around the kitchen to some 60’s music I found on Spotify. Ouch! My dancing days may well be over. ?

A tense, exciting F1 race in Bahrain. All I will say is, my favourite driver didn’t win!?

This am I chat to my school friend while I have my morning coffee. She is nagging me to do some dressmaking!! I’ve actually been altering the masks I made a year ago which would have fitted elephants!! Thought I would alter them to fit small humans !!
Have been attempting some deeper cleaning, will continue between doing nothing.
Sometimes old appliances are the best gaga. I often resorted to my old Singer Sewing Machine when my newer one failed. My dd1 has it now, and uses it for repairs! It’s older than me!!!!

Good morning everyone from what appears to be very blustery weather from the east coast of Fife. It was lovely to hear the wind throughout the night while in my cosy bed. At least the wind is outside and no longer inside I’ve no idea where my late post went to yesterday perhaps it was carried away in the wind.

I’m having a phone call this morning from someone in the NHS who talks to folk about their fear of needles, that’ll be me even although I didn’t feel a thing while getting my vaccine. I still live in fear of needles and I’ve a second vaccine still to get. A trip to the gp this afternoon to get my ds mole removed she’s a little anxious as no doubt I would be too. It must be done here’s hoping for a good outcome. I wonder if we’re going to get sunshine this afternoon?

Me and my DH will be videoing along with Alexa who’s a better singer than any of us a rendition of happy birthday for our DS who’s having a very special birthday soon. Should be fun

The weather’s meant to change either warm or very cold. Who knows ? I decided to record In the line of Duty in order last night in order to watch a few episodes at one time. It’s like reading a good book I can’t put it down until it’s finished. After having such a good sleep last night even with the wind howling outside I should be fighting fit today. DH is going to continue some work at DD2 garden so I’ve got a marydoll empty on my hands. I think I’ll just potter about in the garden or have a walk somewhere.... same as always!
Good news about some more restrictions being lifted in England and people beginning to see family again after such a long time. Your plans for Easter sound good Scentia something lovely to look forward to!

I need to ring Audiologly this morning as my left hearing aid is not working. I cannot see any blockage in the tube, which is usually the cause. I can certainly tell the difference with only one aid in. I am struggling to hear OH

Thats an annoyance NanKate hopefully the 2 weeks will fly by.

Good morning everyone from cloudy Nottinghamshire. Tomorrow’s forecast is a row of big suns - I have a technical mind! - and our youngest daughter is planning to drive from Norfolk for a garden visit. We haven’t seen her since Christmas, so I’m excited.
It’s interesting to see how people differ in their social needs, with one of a couple being more social than the other. I think lockdown has highlighted this in us. Grandpajet has seen far more friends for a walk whereas I’m ok pottering about very locally, shouting the odd hello. It’s partly because I look odd with post chemo hair etc, but I think I’m actually just a bit of a recluse!
My car will have an ‘empty’ on the drive today as his is going in for a service.
I hate needles too Elizabeth1, and my first vaccination did hurt. Maybe I was tense. Strangely I’ve got used to blood tests and cannulas but injections still make me very nervous.
Bad luck with the knee, Kalu. They say most accidents happen at home, but I didn’t realise dancing was so risky.
