Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and dry outside here in Brackley this morning, my usual day out ,after housework this morning to Bicester only .
As to moral and getting out I seem to be more relaxed to be able to do something I enjoy ,although only for a limited amount of time out , it serves as a respite from current situation.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a warm but cloudy Black Country.

It was such a stunningly sunny day yesterday, felt energised to tidy and sweep out the garage!

MrJan is off for a site visit today, as he is doing some consultancy work for a mate. So I have an empty this morning! So I am I am making a Lasagne for DD. I will take it to Mums where she can collect it after work. Then I will take Mum to the garden centre.

Mums Portal stopped working so we can no longer have video calls. DD was the one who purchased it. She has been sent labels to have it sent back. It has to go to the Czech Republic! Only a year old, so under warranty

Ashcombe our garden is nice and peaceful, but behind all those trees is the main road into town, which is only a 15 minute walk away. Hard to believe. I sit out there and believe I am in a rural location smile

Wishing you all a lovely day with special thoughts of gilly and hoping Marydoll had a good day yesterday

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s another gorgeous day. Really lifts the spirits doesn’t it? I just stood on the decking to share this photo of my beautiful maple at the front door and look how many leaves are on the delphiniums already! My (our) bedroom is behind those wooden blinds so it’s where I’m sitting now drinking my first cuppa of the day made by Himself.

We are off in the motor car later. Driving over to Bolton at 2pm in the sunshine to meet friends in a beer garden. I’m so excited! I plan to wear a dress, sandals and lipstick.... Apart from my walking buddy these are the first friends I’ll have seen since February last year! Fair enough - we were over in Malaga which meant we were AWOL last summer.
?

Poor Iris. I hope those antibiotics sort out her infection site very soon grandMattie.

I hope Tuesday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. Joining the human race again is wonderful, just no hugs, keep safe spaces and wash hands.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 20-Apr-21 07:59:32

Morning Mick and all

Foggy here also Sar I am eager for my hairdressers appointment on Thursday, my hair is so long!!

I hope Iris responds to the antibiotics soon, pleased to hear you are asking for help harrigran ?

We have the Imp today, hopefully he will be happy (he wasn’t when we saw him quickly yesterday. He has his first haircut ans was not impressed)

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where it looks to be another dry day. We could do with rain though I should be careful what I wish for, I know.
A day of waiting in yesterday for things, including the plumber, that never turned up.
Today I shall visit MiL who is not so good according to BiL.
I also have the dentist Dragonfly who will not compliment me on my teeth.
Yoga first, on zoom. It will be strange if we ever have to go back to yoga in the school games hall.
Our U3A walks have started up again but with limited numbers and no sharing cars so I am ambivalent and wasn't too bovvered when told it was fully booked.
I hope Iris infection clears quickly grandMattie
I hope you can get the help you need Harrigran
Delicious bread Elliane
Pretty decking Urms and maple tree
Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning from sunny Colchester where the mist has already burned off. It'll be warm in the sun for a short while later.
I've a couple of garden centre purchases to pot up and a pile of washing and ironing. We have no wardrobes as the carpenter is too busy to fit us in yet (as are all tradesmen), so I need to iron crumpled lighter weight clothes that are stored in suitcases to swap with the winter stuff that is on the temporary rail!!

Chilli con carne for tea.

Love to all x

Marydoll Tue 20-Apr-21 08:09:11

Good morning all, from a cloudy Glasgow, with showers predicted.

I'm sorry to hear wee Iris has a pin infection, but glad to hear, she had a rescue pack for that eventuality. It's such a good idea, as it saves valuable time waiting for a prescription. We chronic asthmatics, have them too and can help keep us out of hospital.

Yet another restless night, between my hand and hip pain. However, I can tholl it, as my mother would say. Joyfulness is a great analgesic, as we are off out, down the coast to the garden centre!
I'm so excited, as my favourite part is the run down the motorway, with views of the River Clyde. ( Litterpicker, take note)
I should be reasonably safe, as the indoor part is closed , (no morning coffee and cake) and I will be outside. Shops are still closed here.
I've been told, no going on public transport, until I get my second vaccine, thank goodness I'm beginning to get my driving confidence back, so no need for buses and trains. I still need to be extremely vigilant, as do we all, even if we don't have pre-existing conditions.

After that, we will take the coast road down to Saltcoats
and visit the bakery, followed by a bag of chips, eaten on the harbour wall. Bliss!
The only downside, is not having Dollie with us. She will be raging if she finds out! ?

Speaking of second vaccines, I phoned the GP surgery to ensure I'm on the list this time, after the previous fiasco. The (surprisingly helpful) receptionist informed me that they are awaiting the next batch of vaccine for the shielders, so fingers crossed.

I also got a surprise phone call yesterday, about last week's cancelled hospital appointment to discuss my non existent Vit D and calcium and a possible date for my two year late, ☹Alendronic acid infusion. The appointment was rescheduled for June, but will now be next week.
As it's now to be a telephone consultation, we managed to fit it around my mammogram, which is the same day. Things seem to be moving again here in the NHS.
I'm actually become a little apprehensive about getting out again for previously cancelled hospital appointments and being in contact with people, after thirteen months of shielding.
I used to be such a social animal!

Harri and Grannysomerset, Auntieflo hoping today is a better one for you. ?
My dear Sassenach friend, Kate ( don't run amok in that shop!) and all who have plans today, wishing you an enjoyable day!

To our missing posters, evening you don't want to post, just let us know you are OK.

Good morning all and it’s another Misty morning here on the Suffolk Coast. Yesterday turned out beautifully and was warm until the tide turned and then the icy breeze returned.

We shopped and had a lazy day, after the staining of the summerhouse for days, we ached and were tired of it. We will start in the second coat today. ??

Tomorrow my DB and nephew are coming for the day with dog. We will hopefully sit outside for lunch , have a walk along the beach and catch-up on our lives. It’s been a tough year for them as SIL had to go into care as she has fast progressing dementia and they couldn’t cope any longer with her at home. No visiting in lockdown. Their DD was due to get married and was cancelled. Nephew is an opera singer and had been travelling with his company around Europe but managed to get home for lockdown , so no job, money etc for him. We will give them a stress free day and find a few smiles to lighten their load.

Hope IRIS recovers from her infection quickly. ?

Big girl pants grandmajet .

Wishing you all a good day ????

polomint Tue 20-Apr-21 08:17:30

Morning all from an overcast central Scotland. I don't post often but like to read your posts and hope everyone has as good a day as possible
I know the garden centre you are off to visit marydoll and when we are down there we usually carry on to prestwick, largs or troon

Alygran Tue 20-Apr-21 08:18:54

Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is bright but not quite sunny.
It was lovely yesterday and my neighbours came round for a cup of tea in the garden. Simple pleasures.
Today is seaside day! Yippee! I haven’t been to the coast this year but I’m meeting my friend and walking from Marske to Saltburn where we will have fish and chips before strolling back. I’m really quite excited.
Thinking of all of you who have worries, caring responsibilities or who are not well flowers and ?
Have a good day everyone. Stay safe.

Susan56 Tue 20-Apr-21 08:26:40

Good morning from Staffordshire.

Thank you Ash, it was a good drive down today and DGS was very happy to see us.We had planned to go to Shugborough today but he wants to go to the Park to go on the new zip wire?he is three!Last week when my elder daughter came to visit her sister M took Henry on the zip wire with her.Glad I wasn’t here to see it?

Mary, I can imagine Dollie would be raging if she finds out about your visit to the coast. We had planned to go to Llandudno on Thursday and DD asked us in front of M what day we had planned to go.Without me M said! The result is we will be going on Saturday instead to Aberdovey with the family and Llandudno will have to wait a couple of weeks.

Mattie, I am sorry Iris has an infection and hope the antibiotics get to work quickly.

Harrigran, well done on asking for help?

Thinking of all with illness, appointments, worries about loved ones and other anxieties.

Cherry??

Have a good day all??

Nannytopsy Tue 20-Apr-21 08:27:17

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s another lovely start to the day in Suffolk but we desperately need some rain. I have ordered shading for the greenhouse and it’s only April!
Yesterday turned into a lazy day as we both had an inertia attack ?. I find socialising is hard work after all the time with just us two.
Today there is a masked and distanced meeting of four ladies who will make the new curtains for the village hall. This could be interesting as the chosen fabric is tartan, we hear.
I had better get moving. Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Grandmajean Tue 20-Apr-21 08:27:54

Good morning from Cheshire. Looks nice out. Will read posts later. Kind thoughts to all the Gransnetters having a difficult time.

Marydoll Tue 20-Apr-21 08:29:09

polomint, we usually go to Nardini's for ( a pensioner's) lunch after our garden centre visit, but we are going to stock up on pies from the bakers in Saltcoats. If there are any left Used to live in Troon, many moons ago, still love a trip down, not too far from us Litterpicker wink

Washed bedding so hope it dries it today .I really need to sort out redundant clothes but waiting until charity shops are taking things again. Sorry to hear about Iris,s infection .
Harrigran hope having help makes things a little easier

Morning from S Lanarkshire, looks like a nothing weather day so far, grey skies.
Enjoyed a good garden blether yesterday afternoon, with a friend who had a replacement knee operation during lockdown, She is pain free which is great but has not regained the mobility she hoped for, possibly due to very cold weather which had restricted walking practice outside. Hopefully things might improve for her now.

Thinking about you Grandmajet, I hope your hospital visit is bearable.

Zoom book club this morning, I really didn’t enjoy last month’s choice, ‘Little Fires Everywhere’. I couldn’t find a Kindle copy, no idea why the Amazon app refused to sell it to me!
Anyhow, the print was small and I had to find a very bright light to read with and am quite worried about the implications.
Could my cataracts be regrowing? or, as I fear, my MD getting worse. To cap it all, the main protagonist really irritated me!

Enjoy your day out Marydoll, I love that run too although I’ve never visited the garden centre.
Best wishes for a good everyone.

Stilllearning Tue 20-Apr-21 08:39:34

good day! My dashed eyesight.

Anniebach Tue 20-Apr-21 08:43:03

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

GrannySomerset Tue 20-Apr-21 08:46:17

What a busy thread this morning with lots of plans. So nice to read. Lovely morning and I am determined to get into the garden while wonderful cleaner is busy here. Better night so feel much more positive - until the next mad disaster. Am too easily moved to tears of fury and frustration which isn’t nice so hope a bit of gentle gardening will reset me.

Hope brave Iris is soon clear of infection, that Marydoll has a really happy day (though unlikely to be without incident, so looking forward to tomorrow’s novella), and that the simple pleasure of a cup of tea in the garden with friends is possible - simple pleasures indeed, and more valued than we would have imagined a year ago.

Good morning all from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. It will be another afternoon of sitting and reading in the garden I think.

Fitted the new cover on the love-seat yesterday; it is not so bulky as the old one and managed to get that cut up and into the bin. Replanted the poorly hydrangea into a border and hope it does better than in the pot.

Have just opened my birthday cards and put them up. DS and family are calling by this evening when he gets in from work. I have treated myself to a new summery tunic top, but will have to await its delivery in a day or so.

Will now go back and read everyone's news. Have a sunshiny day!

ginny Tue 20-Apr-21 08:49:11

Good Morning all. Looks like another bright day in N. Bucks.

I am always amazed by those of you that mention so many individual oysters. It would take me all day to post as I would have to keep going back through all the posts to remember each one!
Hope to be working in the garden most of today. Will take it slowly with refreshment breaks.
Scentia my Dd is 10 days off a planned caesarean and has also had so many worries with this pregnancy. It will be such a relief when it’s over.
Hope you all find a ?today.

baubles Tue 20-Apr-21 08:53:08

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

We visited DD’s garden again yesterday and I walked with DD to where the school bus drops the children off, their surprise and delight on seeing me was a real tonic.

We plan on a trip to the coast later in the week, perhaps tomorrow. Today will be a pottering in the garden day.

Such busyness today, I can’t remember all of who’s doing what and wouldn’t want to miss anyone, but I wish you all the best day possible.

Greyduster Tue 20-Apr-21 09:00:36

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun has not yet deserted us. We had a lovely walk around Ladybower reservoir yesterday. I didn't know until now, but it holds six billion, three hundred million gallons of water. The forest is coming into green and it all looked pristine. The fish are still skulking deep down though and it was hard work for the anglers on the bank, but as one said "Its just a joy to be here."
I am meeting my new hairdresser this afternoon, and I was awake at four going over in my head how to tell her what I wanted her to do with my hair. How silly is that? I didn't have time tell my previous one; she had been cutting it for so long she could cut it with her eyes shut and it would look perfect!
Have a good day, folks

ixion Tue 20-Apr-21 09:00:54

Good luck for the jabs grandmajet.
Thinking of you and all others with pain to bear?

Pittcity Tue 20-Apr-21 09:02:23

Ginny, I'm the same with individual "oysters" (they're lobsters on the lockdown thread!!) and so I simply send love and virtual hugs to everyone.
