Who is that ? In the adams family ?!

Lucca Thu 08-Jul-21 14:21:44

That’s odd I would have thought hotel prices had gone up massively

Maggiemaybe Thu 08-Jul-21 14:21:05

Wednesday Adams?

Maggiemaybe Thu 08-Jul-21 14:19:40

We're going in September. I've booked us a few days in a hotel (at about half the price I was expecting from previous visits) and we're also going to Kensington Palace to see the royal dresses exhibition.

I'll let DH decide what else we do while we're down there!

Apparently August was in the top 100 names last year! I have never heard of it until now ?. Augustus much nicer.

I suppose we have April May June…..any other month names ?

It’s odd that. Just like I’ve heard of Tuesday as a name (Tuesday weld rings a ?). Eg Ruby Tuesday. But no others, u less you count man friday…..

merlotgran Thu 08-Jul-21 14:10:49

We’re going on the 2nd August. Not going anywhere else.

HM is opening the gardens at Buckingham Palace for picnicking £17pp i think. Hope people will take their rubbish home with them.

merlotgran Thu 08-Jul-21 12:13:28

Apparently there is self contained accommodation suitable for Harry to quarantine in.

Nice to know Doria's granny annexe is being put to good use. grin

I think Eugenie and Jack moved into Frogmore when they had the baby, Harry stayed there when he came over for the DofE’s funeral.

I suppose there is a spare bedroom and en suite where he can isolate? And he probably gets a takeaway in if he can’t use their waffle maker.

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Jul-21 11:30:02

Whatdayisit ah, there is that...

Ellianne lovely to see you back thanks

Whatdayisit Thu 08-Jul-21 11:27:36

Like Augustus Gloop?

Ellianne Thu 08-Jul-21 10:18:19

I always thought you say Owgust Fanny. Is is of German origin?

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Jul-21 10:03:53

About 25 years ago I worked as (the world's worst) florist. I made up some funeral flowers for an old chap called August.

FannyCornforth Thu 08-Jul-21 10:01:33

And Augustine, with the emphasis on the last syllable. Lovely ?

'Morning all!
I thought that Eugenie and Jack lived at Frogmore? ?
I've just had a snoop on the net, and it's a bit vague.

But I have noted their son's name:
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
I've never really know how to pronounce 'August'; do you put emphasis on the first or second syllable?
I much prefer Augustus for that reason

Some cottage….

Callistemon Tue 06-Jul-21 11:20:44

When Harry flew in for the statue unveiling it was reported he
isolated in Frogmore for five days .

But that's just a cottage!
shock

Whatdayisit Tue 06-Jul-21 10:36:49

Anyway if H isn't invited he can always pay to visit £20 each in July and August. Very well kept, classy estate lovely day out.
Uncle Charles is more likely to be on William's side making him Uncle to the King. (Puts hard hat on and steps back!).

Yes I’d say it’s quite easy to isolate in a palace/mansion/ castle etc!
