I've mentioned on a couple of threads that I forgot to save the changes to my Sainsbury"s order this week so got 4 boxes of 18 cans of Foster's lager. A friend got 2 bottles of rum in the same circumstances. Another friend is more sensible and puts her basics in.

6 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc! Isn’t that a basic?

tanith Fri 04-Jun-21 07:25:27

I once got 4 bunches of bananas and I’ve no clue how that happened.

when I had a cat it used to be cat litter- now it is long life milk, loo rolls and wine. It is always something I can use.

Just zoom through and put the favourites in. Doesn’t take long. Till you posted this I didn’t realise it was an issue. If push came to shove 12 boxes of Felix sachets should do the trick.

We can have a party dragonfly. Let's hope someone else has smoked salmon and canapes. Or crisps and nuts!

A bottle of malt whisky ? for DH. Not that I buy one every week but if I were to forget to update at least he would be a happy chap.

I think the Argy could get quite lively tonight! ??????

cornergran Fri 04-Jun-21 08:05:49

Milk, bread, cheese and wine - mostly the latter grin.

Gagagran Fri 04-Jun-21 08:24:38

Milk, paracetamol and bread. Update through the week though and sometimes amend the holding order. Need to do so today!

kittylester Fri 04-Jun-21 08:53:48

I usually cancel the Fosters once I actually start my proper list but really should remember to save the changes!

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Jun-21 08:55:52

Yeah, yeah kitty ?????? ?

The most expensive Champagne and then a couple of items from favourites if needed to make up to the minimum amount. One expensive item saves time and thinking.

hazel93 Fri 04-Jun-21 09:11:33

Always start with 2 bottles of bubbly to meet required amount quickly a week before delivery.
Do not always remember to delete once the real list entered but find once in awhile I think "sod it " and do not send them back !
Loved it when 2 carrots arrived as 2kgs., !

muse Fri 04-Jun-21 09:50:08

Hope you cancel that one PippaZ

I mentioned mine in the other thread.
It’s currently a few bottles of Beefeater Blood Orange Gin. Off now to sort out the delivery due tomorrow morning.

I just go through my favourites list and click on a few items. My biggest on line shopping mistake was a 96 bars of chocolate! I thought I was ordering 12 bars of chocolate (6 GC visiting so only two bars each - honestly I wasn't going to eat any of them) but I actually ordered 12 packs of 8 bars of chocolates. I was too embarrassed to send them back.

They lasted months and the last few were actually after the best before date by the time they got eaten, I haven't bought any since as it put me off.

theworriedwell Fri 04-Jun-21 10:08:22

I tend to change my order more than once before delivery day, I have visions of a little man at Sainsbury's HQ tutting at yet another change and deciding to cancel them all. I think I am losing the plot.

Kim19 Fri 04-Jun-21 10:09:40

Smiling at all of this. Haven't a clue. Never done an order for delivery. Presumably just go on line and choose your poison? Apparently the 'doses' have to be very carefully selected. Great stuff!

Doodledog Fri 04-Jun-21 10:11:24

I was once caught out by forgetting an order and getting a delivery of 20 boxes of Cornflakes.

I now use champagne if I need a placeholder. I no longer drink, but it would make a standby present if I forgot.

I am now in the routine of adding my favourites when I book the slot, then going in the night before to add or remove items. This started when I had to book ahead because of lockdown, and I'm still doing it. I used the champagne at Christmas, as the slots were released well ahead of the delivery days, and I wasn't sure what I would need.

Champagne - and yes there is one in the fridge...

I did the same thing with Ocado and called them to say I'd made a mistake, they refunded the cost and told me to keep it.

Peasblossom Fri 04-Jun-21 10:17:09

Toilet rolls, of course?

Largolass Fri 04-Jun-21 10:24:42

An expensive bottle of Champagne is my holding order till I have time to add my favourites then I delete the bubbly
