Was it expected that the 18-30 yr-olds would be reluctant to be vaccinated? I hadn't heard that.
Excellent that the roll-out is reaching them at last since they are the ones out mixing the most, but why are we congratulating them on taking it up? I think I've missed something.

My three were on the nhs website at midnight last night to book theirs.

Well done to all those, young or old, who have had their vaccines.

Our 18 year old DGD had hers on Saturday. All good - she said she didn’t feel a thing!! When she originally got her invite and later told me “Thank god” was her reply!!

wnterwarmer I started this as there is a thread entitled something along the lines of Why won’t the young get vaccinated and that’s not my experience at all and I wanted to show the other side of the coin

I'm in England, in Hertfordshire actually and today they called the 25-29s. It was all over Instagram and I'm sure it goes for all of England not just my County. The aim for the whole country is for all adult (over 18) to be vaccinated by the end of July.

Ah I see Bluebelle. I thought I must have missed something. Didn't see the other thread, sorry. Will now go and have a look for it. Not my experience either with DGCs of 21 and 19 champing at the bit.

My youngest got a call from his surgery today, he turns 25 on Friday and has his first jab booked for Saturday. Very efficient.

My son is 23 and got a message from a friend 3 weeks ago, who's Mum is a practice nurse at a GPs. Around 12 of them all got themselves to the other side of town as there were vaccines going spare. They would've been wasted if not used. I said to him, how are you going to get there? He said, I don't care, I'm going even if I have to walk! (it would've taken about an hour and a half) He was very grateful and they all joked it was the first time they had all been out together for well over a year!

Very good to hear young people are eager to be vaccinated. I know people say you have the right to choose whether or not you go ahead but I am a little annoyed at those who don’t take up the jab when offered because they think it isn’t safe or hasn’t been tested long enough in the community. They are relying on everyone else to make their little world safe for them, I have no good feelings for them, especially as they are putting others at risk. But do feel proud of all the youngsters queuing up fo it, even if it is so that they can all party again! They have it it tougher than most.
