Good Morning Everyone,
Its grey cloud but dry here in brackley at the moment.
Today, will see my usual bus trip out to Bicester this morning but later on , will have a coffee, with a snack and then do a shop before returning home to watch the Vuelta unfold in Spain .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from an overcast morning in Portsmouth where I arrived safely last night after a tedious journey, much of which was at snail’s pace due to heavy traffic from Dorchester onwards.

Early check in 1.5 hours before sailing is required since Covid so I must get going. Thank you for all the good wishes yesterday- we are very humbled by the level of support from you lovely folk. ????

grandMattie Thu 26-Aug-21 06:36:12

Good morning Tom a brightish E Kent. I can see a contrail! We normally have loads as planes go past the Dover beacon, but not since COVID…
Mick, I suspect you watch the Vuelta partly for the cycling and partly for the travelogue/scenery! ? Ash, I hope you have a good journey, and I wish you both well for your undoubtedly joyful reunion!❤️
My craft group went well enough, but wasn’t my cup of tea. I really enjoy the company of the ladies there, they really are a very nice bunch. The traffic was horrendous; queues, cones, temporary traffic lights, road works….
I’m taking my aged friend out today, I sincerely hope she is less querulous. She can be very trying. My good deed for the day!
I hope the sad, anxious and poorly are in a better place today ???☀️???

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s overcast at the moment.

Our usual Thursday childminding afternoon, so nursery pickup, gymnastics class and a picnic on the beach before we take them home.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ?

Beechnut Thu 26-Aug-21 06:51:23

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is dry and dull.
I hope it brightens up later as it’s my birthday and I want to spend it pottering in the garden. I plan to make a lasagne for my lunch with a G&T toast.

Beechnutella came to collect my grand dog yesterday evening so I haven’t got him pinning my leg to the bed this morning. Our walks together were slower than usual, probably because there was so much that he hadn’t sniffed for a long time rather than thinking of my aching back ???

Have a good day all and hope there aren’t too many worries. Safe crossing Ash ?

Good morning from cloudy West Berkshire.
A full day today at the foodbank which I love .
Have a safe journey Ash and a wonderful reunion!

Best wishes to all who follow for a kind day.

Good morning from a cloudy and cool Oxfordshire, Carpenter here any minute to turn unused side entrance into a long shed, all the contents of old shed will go in there over the weekend and work on the now to be called ‘cabin’ ( old shed) can go ahead to turn it into a blissful retreat / another dumping ground for household objects that I can’t bear to throw out.
Have a good day all , safe trip Ash traffic along the South Coast I’d usually one long traffic jam.
Virtual Hugs to those in need of one and a good day to all.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 26-Aug-21 07:07:28

Good morning. Grey again outside in N. Bucks.
Off to the field with Lord Jasper after breakfast . It wears me out just watching him run.
I’m meeting DGS 1. for lunch today so will catch up on his news. I might have a look in a few shops afterwards but it’s not something that appeals to me much these days.
I will have to choose my food carefully asI am also out for dinner this evening with one of our craft groups. It will be the first time we have all met since January 2020. There will be a real buzz !
Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning from Northampton where it is a funny old morning weatherwise - sunshine through the back windows, and dark grey cloud through the front. At least it's dry, so I have just put the towels in the washing machine.

A day of catching up, as I was out all day yesterday. A successful outing on the bus, the first time since pre Covid, and I felt ok. We had a browse around the shops and I came away with two dresses to try on! Then into Sainsburys, another first where I successfully returned some ordered clothing. And then home on the bus.

A quick lunch then book club where we had cake, and shared thoughts on the book of the month. I am afraid most of our chat was gossip, and very little time spent on the book!

Glad to say I successfully managed to change the printer ink, using the downloaded manual's very clear instructions, and printed out tickets for a forthcoming rugby match.

A Sainsburys delivery this morning. Then general tidying and pottering. I may cut the grass again. No health walk today and no visit to the pub, as my friend who gives me a lift is off to visit family. So I will be cooking tonight - spicy pork and rice, courtesy of the Hairy Bikers.

Bon voyage Ash, and wishing you a happy re-union. And hoping that all have a pleasant day.

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey here in S E Essex. Off to Chelmsford for school shoes for Master 6 and Converse for The Imp.

Hope to see our missing posters when I pop back later.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Urmstongran Thu 26-Aug-21 07:28:23

Happy birthday Beechnut! Hope you enjoy your day. ?

Good morning everyone from Malaga. Another gorgeous day beckons. We didn’t go to the beach or Arroyo. It was so hot I didn’t fancy walking - mad dogs etc.! We just stayed in the communal gardens. Here is a photo I took yesterday just before we went went down. César, the gardener, cuts the grass according to Andalusian government guidelines showing 2 metre spaces. At the beginning of summer he had to mark it all out in chalk. Now he cuts the furrows regularly and every now and again gives the whole area a lighter ‘once over’ as the longer grass inside each square is quite springy and we all look drunk crossing the areas!

It’s forecast 36°C again today. Shade it is then, under a parasol or a palm tree, with my book. Well ladies, someone has to do it don’t they?

Enjoy Thursday all.

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s grey cloud here in Suffolk and I think we had a bit of rain last night. The promised good weather hasn’t made it to East Anglia this week.

WI coffee morning and a recording of Gardeners Question Time this afternoon. Our choir is meeting for the first time tonight, to plan starting again.
A busy day for these times!

Nannytopsy Thu 26-Aug-21 07:33:33

Posted too soon! Bon voyage Ash and Happy Birthday Beechnut.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 26-Aug-21 07:44:20

Good Morning from grey East Yorkshire.
I’ve had a couple of days feeling under the weather but am better today. I’m meeting a friend for coffee - my usual Tuesday one that I had to rearrange and we are also having lunch.
Yesterday despite not being 100% we had dgs and took him to the coast where he had a wonderful time. Unusually for him he had a couple of moments where grandad got out of him he was a little bothered about leaving nursery and starting school. The poor love so we mentioned it to his parents on taking him home. Due to Covid they couldn’t do the usual pre visit to school. Don’t know if it would have put him at ease although he does live very close to the school and is used to hearing children at play etc.
Happy Birthday Beechnut have a lovely day. ?
Wishing you a safe journey Ashcombe and a lovely reunion ?
Take care all.

EkwaNimitee Thu 26-Aug-21 07:44:58

Good morning, Mick and all from warm sunny Carlisle.
I’m just popping in to wish Ashcombe a pleasant trip on the briny and a happy reunion with olddudders.
I’m awaiting the furniture deliverers, any time from now to 11am. Piles of boxes everywhere upstairs, I’m not convinced the new stuff will swallow it all up.
Must go… the best possible day to all.

Good morning Gransnetters.
Today I am going with DH and two youngest GC to Chester Cathedral to see a model railway exhibition ! I can't believe I have just written that sentence. I don't know the front of a train from the back but DH thought I would like to join the party !! I don't think he fancies being in charge of the children on his own so I will go with good grace. How dull can it be ??
Happy birthday Beechnut
Safe journey Ashcombe
Don't think we will be in temperatures like Malaga*Urmston*but it should be warm enough.
Have only glanced at posts so far so will be back
Missing regular posters and would love to see them return.
I hope the Grand with big worries have a day without too much stress.

brook2704 Thu 26-Aug-21 07:49:20

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s light grey cloud but another warm sunny day is forecast
A very Happy Birthday to Beechnut - enjoy your special day! ????
Today DH and I are planning to do some garden work, we’re having a new path and decking area in a couple of weeks so there’s some prep work needed. Some of the work is quite heavy as we need to shift some existing stones and gravel so hopefully we’ll go out for a treat of coffee and cake afterwards to recover
Hope your DGS settles into school well grandmadino it is a big step for little ones to manage!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmajean Thu 26-Aug-21 07:49:37

Not "Grand" - "Grans" I need to take time to preview !

harrigran Thu 26-Aug-21 07:50:25

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday was cloudy which was a shame because I washed a rug and was hoping to get it dry outside.
Morrisons delivery this morning plus a Cote at home delivery of restaurant type food for the bank holiday weekend.
Palliative care nurse said she would call today, she did organise the delivery of drugs from pharmacy which was a help as everyone I know is away on holiday.
Take care all.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Aug-21 08:06:01

Good morning (evening) from Tasmania.

Another nice day, went for a short walk, made a big pot of chicken, vegetable and barley soup, even managed a bit of weeding first time for many months.

Still no news about Rufus - doesn't look good although it's a bit strange that emails were being returned - even if something had happened surely the family would still have his email account running. Although my OH did say that if the inbox was full then emails would not be getting through.

Best wishes to all.
