I can't see why it would have any more effect on MH than making them put sun screen on when it is a sunny day or a snow suit when it is cold unless an adult puts that in their head.

Adults, as in the media are putting 'it' in childrens heads.
This is just re enforcing it, big time.

Well adults should think what they are saying. I got very fed up of the media people constantly saying how kids' futures were ruined because of schools being closed. Watching that with teenage GC wasn't pleasant but fortunately he was old enough to know that it was up to him to put the work in.

I still don't know why it would reinforce anything, it is a suit, we put kids in clothes without explaining the significance all the time. One of my kids hated having shoes on, he still had to wear them with no explanation. Just one of those things.

This will have zero effect on a child’s mental health any more than wearing a onesie, a swimming costume, a puddle suit or any number of dressing up clothes

Children are accepting of what adults tell them to wear with maybe a few grumbles.
I doubt it would affect their mental health.
It might affect mine if I was asked to wear one of those suits ?

Children are well aware of the virus because they’ve been living with it for almost 2 years. My 6 year old grandson told me they are having a nativity that 2 people can go to watch because of the virus. So, that’s mummy and daddy he said and of course he’s right.
Hazmat suits follow masks, hand wash, being in/out of school, bubbles being sent home, miss being missing because she’s got the virus. Not going to grannie if you have a cold.

Oh no, think of the MH damage if a child saw their parents decorating? The might ask why some people just get covered in paint like I do. I save old clothes for this very purpose.

We are only guessing at the effect on this child’s MH.
My guess, it won’t effect the child at all, especially a toddler who won’t be thinking too deeply about this. Age approx. 10 plus may not go along with Mummy’s thinking.

Very little impact unless there’s a fuss about it. Children accept snow suits, painting overalls, fancy dress etc.

Children are far more adaptable than adults. They complain far less too re covid

Let's be frank. The world is going to get a hell of a lot more of a mess than it currently is, due to global warming. The less alarmist we can be the better, to give them some quality of life. Make taking precautions matter of fact. Their lives are going to be very much different to ours.

I don’t think it’ll have any effect on the child’s mental health, but the parent’s obvious overreaction may very well have an effect on the child’s mental health.
