Smoking weed

I tried some about 25 years ago, in brownies rather than smoking. Very pleasant and relaxing. I didn't do it again because I din't have the contacts to get a supply.

Since marijuana has been legalized here in my state, so much has changed. Growers now grow different hybrids and there are thousands of options for people who smoke based on their particular needs.

Legalization has enabled research into the different benefits of cannabinoids. THC, CBD, CBN and more. It is being tested by pharmaceutical companies for diseases such as epilepsy and seizures, and proven effective. Once the US federal government removes it from drug list, it will open up much more research.

THC is the cannabinoid that gives you the "high feeling". CBD is what many people use for pain (most OTC CBD is made from hemp, not marijuana, IMO hemp CBD is not effective as many people who buy CBD from local stores also report it being a waste of money). CBN has shown to help induce sleepiness.

Then you have different strains bred. Want pain relief? Find a strain that has high CBD and virtually no THC. You get the benefits of the pain relief without the effects of the THC. Want to sleep? Find a strain that is high in CBN.

In places where it is legal, the world of marijuana is no longer the same as buying from the local dealer on the corner. Growers have strict standards they must adhere to. You can get a good clean product and not worry about what "else" is in it. Not something you can do when buying black market.

I have Fibromyalgia and typically use it to help me sleep on nights when I just can not. Though I do not smoke it, only edibles. I gave up smoking 15 years ago and don't want anything in my lungs. Though I have smoked since it was legalized and it is nothing like what I smoked as a teen decades ago.

I’m in Canada, so legal here. I’m more familiar with it as a medicine than recreational. Much rather use marijuana than morphine for a chronic pain disability.

I have noticed my neighbours have a few small plants growing at the side of their house

I have only noticed as I look after their dogs occasionally

Only once in cakes, it had no effect on me whatsoever.

Same in Spain JaneJudge in pots on balconies. It’s legal there for individual consumption.

No never tried it. Those awful black and white films they used to show us about drug taking at school scared me off.

Never tried it and having seen the effect the current type has on people I’m relieved. It’s not the ‘peace and love’ drug anymore. I was attacked at work by someone smoking cannabis.

Yes, in the late 70s when I was about 19. It was no different to feeling a bit drunk (I didn't like that either)

i have never tried it but a family member whom i visit smokes it with every roll up he makes, has done for the last 50 years, it gives me a headache just breathing it in.

Weed isn’t an ‘innocent’ drug, it’s often produced by young people who’ve been trafficked from less developed countries, and who live in hellish circumstances. I don’t want to be tainted by that connection.

I’d support legalising cannabis, though. That way, it could be regulated, making it safer, and taxed.

I went to high school in Portsmouth, a naval port. There were drugs at every teenage party. I don't know why but it never interested me and when a joint was being passed round people would say, "Oh you don't, do you?" and it would be passed to the next person. All quite innocent and no pressure.

I had a home care client who used to smoke it to alleviate her MS. Her son used to get it for her. We just turned a blind eye.

We bought it for many years for a friend with MS before she got the implant for her pain.

Oh a spliff and a glass of wine. Heaven. Not had one for about 8 years now. (A spliff that is, not the wine!) There are times when I miss it, but the person I used to smoke it with isn't in my life anymore. Happy memories though. It helped me through some tough times.

I wasnt so sure I was for it back when it was legalized here, though I voted for it. IMO, if people want to use it, they will find a way. Might as well be regulated and taxed!

Legalizing it is probably the best way forward IMO. Once it is regulated, it IS safer. It also has done wonders for small businesses here. The taxes it has raised has also benefitted children. Statewide it has helped build rural schools, one city near me has built 2 community centers for kids just from the income it has received.

Not until I reached my 50s (I was a late bloomer).
