Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here but its dry and a clear sky this morning in brackley .
Yesterdays bus trip was busy as it looks like more are using buses , mind you with petrol station queing could be one thing .
But Its getting very much like spring ,today I plan on a few hours in Bicester as its a market day there.
I also have also received an email as to a planned trip to Harrogate and York , March next year over 5 days and staying in Harrogate at the Cairn Hotel , the coach rip operator sent me the sneaky due to my recommending the hotel.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning! It’s dry here in north Wiltshire too.
Today is day 2 of the mess and muddle from having a wood burner installed- yesterday was unbelievably dusty and noisy while they opened up the fireplace ? At one point DDog and I retreated to the bedroom, that’s over the living room, but it was only marginally less noisy. Thank goodness everything was covered in dust sheets!
It should be quieter today apparently ??
I made a fish pie yesterday, plenty for lunch today and probably tomorrow too unless I put some in the freezer if I can find space.
I will make apple cake this morning and probably do a bit of pottering in the garden.
Hope everyone has a peaceful day ?

Good morning from a pale pink skied E Kent. The days are getting longer, the sun warmer!
We saw the oncologist on Tuesday, who said DH has a large lump in the pelvic floor which is squashing his bowel, hence the pain, what floored us was the report that there wipers a number of lesions in the lungs, including a very large one. The prognosis 12-24 months at the outside.
As the opioids are making him very sick, I contacted the hospice, via the GP, so now we are in the system. Yesterday was hectic with calls to and from the GP, the hospice, district nurse, etc.
Had a bad night as I was hyperaware of every cough and hiccup.
DH is serene about everything though terribly sad for his remaining two children and me. I’ll survive, I’m strong and we have had 19 happy years since DH was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.
Today going to be another round of calls and visits.
Carpe diem my dear friends. ????❤️❤️

Morning Mick I envy you your market and Blue it’ll be worth it, especially with other price rises.
S Hants is cloudy, windy with rain due later. Busy day on the voluntary phone yesterday, lifts to sort today and Tesco delivery later.
May those who are poorly improve today and those sad find a little cheer ??.

BlueBalou Fri 11-Mar-22 06:30:54

Oh grandMattie, I’m so sorry ?

Jaxjacky Fri 11-Mar-22 06:31:53

Good Morning everyone from an overcast south coast. 9c and set for wind and rain today.

GM Your annus horribilis continues and your fortitude and kindness to so many others deserves so much more than this awful news. You will get a lot of support from this lovely thread and you know that you already have mine, my dear friend. flowers

A busy day for me yesterday with a WI meeting in the afternoon which was a real treat with an excellent speaker and delicious cake. Nothing on the agenda for today but thoughts will be with all those suffering with health or anxiety or any other tribulations.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

TopsyIrene06 Fri 11-Mar-22 06:49:15

Chrissielou Fri 11-Mar-22 06:53:32

A beautiful sun rise this morning in Oxfordshire.
grandMattie there are no words that I can offer, just to say I'm so sorry. flowers
To waffle on about my day would be insensitive, so I'm not going to say anymore.
I hope you all find some sunshine and comfort today.

Good morning from a very wet Torbay. ?

grandMattie: my heart goes out to you with all that life is throwing at you and your family. No words can express how deeply sorry we both feel for this to happen to you, especially with your generosity of spirit towards everyone. Caring thoughts and prayers for continuing strength for you and your DH.

Yesterday, DH had a haircut from a barber within walking distance of home and it was only £10, including a tip! No queue and the young chap has done a very good job. Previously, DH had gone to my hairdresser or a barber in the centre of Torquay who charged twice as much.

Tonight, we are both on Front of House duties for the farce that is enjoying a successful run this week: Funny Money by Ray Cooney. DH is the manager and I’m one of the stewards. We are trialling a new venture with a couple of sixth form students as apprentice stewards, which I’m pleased to see.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend, everyone! ??????

grandMattie Fri 11-Mar-22 06:58:27

Please, please, don’t stop waffling. It is really lovely to get good news or just finding out about your lives!

Marydoll Fri 11-Mar-22 07:06:12

GM, I too have no words, what a very sad and upsetting post from you today.
All I can pray for, is that you find the strength to continue to be the wonderful support, that you are to your husband and family and that Mr GM is given as much help as possible to manage his pain.
Remember, you must look after yourself and accept any help you are offered, you are cared for by all of us. ?

I feel that wittering on about my lovely day at the chilly coast yesterday, would now be totally inappropriate. I am counting my blessings.

I'm off to Mass this morning and will light candles for you, your family and all on here who have unbearable burdens.

Urmstongran Fri 11-Mar-22 07:12:24

Oh grandMattie that is such devastating news for you all. It must be so hard right now for you and your family. My heart goes out to you all. xx

cornergran Fri 11-Mar-22 07:16:18

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, breezy corner of Somerset.

Our friends arrived home safely yesterday, Mr C’s ear procedure means he can hear a little more, good news from his recent blood tests. There was little activity as we were and still are a little weary. Today some tidying and we’ll go out for lunch taking our friend with us, there is another month at least to go before she will be independent again.

I wish I had words to express what I feel grandmattie, stark news for you both yesterday. flowers. A difficult time for you too gingster, my thoughts have been with you and your daughter.

Your news made me smile yesterday shazza, a joyous time ahead. Good to have trips to look forward to mick.

I’ll undoubtedly have missed much news while writing this. Good wishes to everyone and a hope Friday is gentle with us all.

Grandmajean Fri 11-Mar-22 07:21:13

Thankyou again for all the messages yesterday. We went over to sit with new GD while her mummy and Daddy went for a nap she’s so beautiful and 3 year old big sister is so happy to be able to help mummy change her nappies etc. We’ll go back over today and do the same. Then picking DGS up from school for a couple of hours. Really need to do an hour in the gym this morning.
Have a lovely day and hope Friday brings moments of joy?

Good morning all from a dreich Polmont. Grandmattie I'm so sorry to hear your news. You are very stoic but this is such a blow after a horrible year for you. I am thinking of you.
Yesterday my aunt popped in for a chat. It was so nice to see her. Dd got a negative result so another one today will free her from the house. She can't wait. I have a couple of pastels I want to start : a boat in a harbour scene and a dinosaur one for dgs1. Have the best day you can.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 11-Mar-22 07:33:21

Good morning from a sunny Palma.

GM I am so very sorry to hear your news it has stunned me as I’m sure you too. You’re in my thoughts. ?

We went down to Palma Nova yesterday for another lovely stroll. The hotels are all being preened ready for the new season. It was fairly busy in the morning. We went in for lunch somewhere and when we came out it was like a ghost town. Siesta time?
We came back by bus and they seem to have altered the routes. It doesn’t run along the Paseo Maritimo anymore but goes right into the heart of the city. Good job we know the area to find our way back to the hotel.
Our meal in the restaurant was amazing we are thinking of going again on Saturday.

This morning another stroll but this will be to a shoe shop I found. It’s called Picolino. Beautiful comfy looking shoes. Not cheap but what the heck I need comfy shoes! Problem is I saw 5 pairs I liked so to get it down to maybe 2 .
This afternoon I’m going for a massage in the spa.
Brook enjoy your time here. We home on Monday. Shame we will cross as we could have met up. Saying that we are thinking of coming back after Easter.

Take care everyone.

Good morning I too have no words GrandMattie. This is indeed a cruel blow for you and your DH. I am sending you much love and hugs.
My thoughts too are with gingster and her daughter and hope the immunotherapy goes ahead today.
