Hello to the new Kitchen and all who sit in her. ???

cornergran Fri 10-Aug-18 18:53:23

Oh blimey, I’ll never recall what everyone said in the old kitchen but I’m very pleased to have found the new one. Here we go, memory test hmm

Wishing your son and comfortable night and an easily fixed knee greyd. Sounds very painful.

You can always suggest a higher initial price nonna, even if just for a couple of weeks. Good luck with it all.

Oops, soop, next attempt will be fine I’m sure. I know you’ll get there.

Not envying n&g and kitty, in fact I’m delighted I won’t be entertaining all next week. We have a granddaughter here for two nights and another two next week, but I don’t feel the need to clean in advance. Afterwards could be another matter grin.

Hunkering down is a very good plan maw. Cornerland seems to be less than robust and in no place for any sort of tension, so staying put.

The day away sounds just right ann, you will benefit and your husband be fine, good for you both.

Worth asking about the cataracts panache, a shame to struggle if you don’t need to.

I’ve a child to chase into bed so wish me luck. 12 hours sleep last night may just have recharged the batteries too much smile.

Just found the new kitchen. Fiddling around waiting for someone to come and collect some bricks I advertised for free, they said could they come round now. That was 45minutes ago! What is their idea of now cos it ain’t the same as mine!!!

NonnaW Fri 10-Aug-18 19:31:52

Sorry, incorrect use of English there - I of course meant, is ‘not the same’ smile

Greyduster Fri 10-Aug-18 20:19:38

Is the chair in the corner free in this new kitchen? My, how quickly things move on!
DD and her menfolk have just arrived back after a long drive from Cornwall - I can breathe a sigh of relief. I spoke to DS this morning and he was reasonably comfortable and a bit more cheerful. My DiL is a radiographer and has Xrayed enough dodgy knees to be able to know what he is going through, and to make sure he does as he is told! I told her good luck with that - I never could grin!
Right, I am now off to sort out the blackberries we picked before tea so that I can put them in the freezer. They’re a bit smaller this year, but should do a crumble or three! Enjoy your evening, all!

annodomini Fri 10-Aug-18 20:45:39

Everyone seems so busy - cooking, laundering, entertaining... By contrast I am extremely idle. Exhaustion got the better of me this afternoon and I found myself snoozing in my recliner. And it's so difficult to come round after a daytime nap. I had a gardener round the other day to have a look at my wilderness. At least he replied to my message whereas another one never got back to me at all. However, he hasn't come back with a quote which leads me to believe that perhaps he doesn't want the job. I am really upset by the state of what should be a very nice garden and I haven't had the strength to cope with it for some years. First of all it was polymyalgia rheumatica which made life difficult for some years. Now they tell me I have sjogren's syndrome, another of those autoimmune things on which you can blame practically any symptom! Hence the occasional exhaustion and the dodgy knees.
Feeling my age? You could say that!

Izabella Fri 10-Aug-18 21:12:07

Just popping in to make sure a chair is still available for my brief visits. ? To everyone.

Raining here now

callgirl1 Fri 10-Aug-18 22:22:15

Here`s another who fell asleep this afternoon Anno, but I was on my laptop at the time!
GreyD, so sorry to hear about your son, hopefully it won`t be too long before he`s getting around again.
Love the new kitchen Soop, such a tasteful and relaxing colour scheme, and that view just gets better and better.

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Aug-18 22:53:11

Hello from a very occasional visitor!
Hope your son will soon be getting about normally, greyduster and that his knee will not be too troublesome.
I grated my thumb along with some carrots earlier - onto fourth plaster now! It's not quite as sore as it was...
On that note, I'll relax in the kitchen with something nice to drink to take my mind off it - looking at the time, it had better be cocoa! ??

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Aug-18 23:12:04

* callgirl*, I've just read your post about listing your money and s Ramos etc abs seeing it all on cctv. How awful for you! Could you show the police the cctv - the man pocketing your cash might be known to them? Fingers crossed that you get a positive outcome.
* Soop* - just seen the posts about your birthday. Belated "happy birthday" - hope you had a lovely day.

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Aug-18 23:18:35

"Your money and stamps and seeing it all on cctv" is what that mangled part of my post should have said! I didn't type that mangled bit, honest! These iPads have a mind of their own. ?

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Aug-18 23:19:56

Oh, and it should say, losing, not listing your money!!

Mapleleaf Fri 10-Aug-18 23:21:46

Perhaps I need something stronger than Cocoa after all!! ?

ChaosIncorporated Sat 11-Aug-18 07:29:45

Running in to admire the decor, but dashing back into my own kitchen to start breakfast prep.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Nannytopsy Sat 11-Aug-18 07:30:41

Well I missed the end of the old kitchen but here’s a chery and almond loaf and a bottle of fizz for the new one!

Panache Sat 11-Aug-18 08:14:58

I have just popped by the new kitchen to check the Aga is fully ready for those cooler autumn mornings!

`Morning all,I think I will forego the fizz at this hour but thanks Topsy.......another time if you don`t mind!

I guess keeping your lad resting will be the most difficult GreyD........and oh! yes please I would give my eye teeth for some blackberry crumble, that really sounds yummy!

I googled about the need for a cataract `op by the way Corner and it states that if you have blurring (in my case its a grey veil) and have difficulty in walking,re steps etc and it halts any of your hobbies ....craft work etc ..in my case reading,writing,computing......then by all means it needs operated on.
I am off to my G.P. in the week......I have enough of other health issues and my sight is about the one thing left to me...........so wish me luck!!

Feeling for you re your "Wilderness" of a garden Annodomini I fully understand how frustrating it is having potentially a nice garden where probably you personally worked in over better years,it is soul destroying when it gets to a bit of a state.
Perhaps this man is taking advantage and he needs to remember he is lucky if he has good health.
Hopefully there maybe someone whom will not be quite so money orientated.......and with a heart.

Haven`t read the final chapters of the old Kitchen so please forgive me if I have missed out on something of note......I will go searching soon.

Did the bricks get removed eventually Nonna...........so frustrating.

By the way one reply from the younger couple via our Estate agent.......Highly complimentary but just not exactly suitable...........so at least another prospective purchaser vanishes into the air!!!

As I am about to do,........see you later .....have a good weekend folks........our weather is holding up nice and summery after a rather grey start.

kittylester Sat 11-Aug-18 08:33:33

Just flying in to check I know where this smart new kitchen is for when our visitors have gone and to check there will be some wine because I'll need it!!!

Try to stand still a bit while I'm gone - please!!

annsixty Sat 11-Aug-18 09:08:03

I thought your visitors were with you for a week kitty , I can't believe you intend going for a whole week without wine, it would be my worst nightmare ??

It is a better morning here and thank goodness the football season has started, at least I will hopefully get an hour to myself and his favourite team is on television this evening.

Have a good day everyone.

NanaandGrampy Sat 11-Aug-18 09:32:37

Morning all !!

A new kitchen - how lovely. Does anyone know how many kitchens there have been since the start? Just curious.

MMMMMmmmmmm blackberry crumble grey , will there be leftovers for the kitchen?

Well that sounds like a good way to be excused from kitchen duties Mapleleaf for ...oh....weeks probably smile. Hope it stops bleeding soon!

Cherry almond loaf sounds just the ticket , and fizz for breakfast should perk us all up Nannytopsy.

Morning Ann , I'd get that match on record to replay daily !!

Sun is shining here so I'm off to change all the beds in prep for Mondays arrivals Then I'm going to make a cheeky little curry for dinner later - all welcome, we're having the works including chicken pakora, peshwari naan and onion bhajis - all made with my own fair hands !!

soop Sat 11-Aug-18 11:31:30

Ahem...I popped in to say that I'm off to help out with the village art show. Talk about chuffed...that's me. Seeing you wonderful lot lolling around and enjoying a good blether, sets me up for the day. I shall leave some flapjacks. Not baked by fair hand. Tesco's best...therefore edible. grin Back again when I've done to my duty. sunshine

NonnaW Sat 11-Aug-18 11:36:47

Peshwari naan is DH’s favourite n&g, along with any sort of curry. Can I send him along to join you? We’re only in Suffolk so he could be there in no time (if it wasn’t for cricket on tv) smile
Yes panache the bricks did eventually go. The recipient brought his son along as ‘muscle’; according to DH he lifted about 3 bricks, then stood around watching and saying how easily he could do it on a computer game confused. Naturally there wasn’t enough room in his car, so DH loaded the rest in ours and drove them round for him. At least there is now a bit more space outside.
The sun is out again today, so the washing is back out.
Have a relaxing day everyone if you can.

Charleygirl Sat 11-Aug-18 11:44:13

Seriously Ann that is an excellent idea from N&G about recording H's favourite programmes and then replaying them the next day because he is not going to remember he has seen that programme and it would give you time to yourself knowing that he is safe and happy.

Charleygirl Sat 11-Aug-18 11:45:43

N&G that curry sounds rather tempting and I would be able to give Sam loads of cuddles. I know that he would not object to that. Perhaps increase the amount you are making?
