Right, kitcheners, get busy. You know the routine. The tin of flapjacks to keep you going is in the corner with a kettle. The water's already on.

How lovely Baggs! Such a frustration for soopI just don't understand how they can muck it all up so often in her neck of the woods Grrr!

Maw such a lovely, precious photo. Thank you so much for sharing. flowers

I am still not at all well but pleased to report that Himself has stopped trying to force feed me. I got bolshie and said NO!hmm

Thank you baggs. There’s a large fruit cake in the side, help yourselves everyone.

Soop must be spitting feathers, more than frustrating.

Look after yourself synonymous, dragonfly and other poorly people. I keep thinking about the panaches, hard not to worry.

Two months ago I received a letter from the Inland Revenue saying they owed me £28 but there was no cheque. I thought it was a scam but no, weeks later I have received the cheque.

The electrician was able to come a day early to fix my outdoor light which has been on day and night for many days. The way it had been connected I could not switch it off using a socket. I now have a new working light and I can switch it off using a socket.

I had to buy a new PIR light fitting- went to the store and was told by a lady I would need "an electric" to fit it. I was well aware of that! I found what I wanted quickly having worked out I did not need one to light up Sainsbury's car park. It was £22 but reduced to £18 at the till so I was not complaining.

The "electric" returned to fit it so I am a very happy bunny, especially as he thought I looked 60 and he did not believe me when I said 76.

I have left homemade marmalade in the kitchen, not made by me by a friend who does not like it!

Well done, Baggs and thank you! I think we should gang up on BT and make them get their finger out! We are Soop deprived! I have had a trying day - dentist in the morning; and what I thought would be a quick and easy shopping trip in the afternoon until Oi/c Present Wrapping decided to abandon his task and accompany me! Never a good idea this and so it proved. Me: enter shop, buy designated item, leave shop, repeat as few times as possible and return home. Him: enter shop, walk round endlessly looking at superfluous stuff, walk round again looking at same stuff, leave shop having bought nothing. Repeat ad infinitum until spouse is on her knees, return home reluctantly, resume present wrapping while spouse collapses in chair, muttering!
Charley I am a recent convert to marmalade, so I will try it, thanks! And maybe a bit of Corner’s fruit cake.
Have a pleasant evening, all.

Nice new kitchen, huge, with an island, a scrubbed pine table and chairs with cosy cushions on.
Welsh dresser, complete with masses of willow pattern old china, and a wicker basket full of kittens in the corner.
Ah, bliss, Soop will approve.
Earl Grey tea please and some of that flapjack.?

inkcog Fri 06-Dec-19 20:30:38

Just popping in to keep in the loop.
For a moment, I thought something had happened to Soop, I have totally lost the plot since I've been on holiday.
Thank goodness for Baggs! smile

Just popping in to check i could find the new kitchen.

I bought some prosecco to try but then discovered it was on offer so took the plunge and bought 6 bottles anyway. Let me know what you think. And how many bottles I'll need for Christmas day do you think I'll need for 20 of us?

I'm hoping to hear from panache, and hoping drahonfly is ok.

baggs please send our love to soop.

TOYA.

Urmstongran Fri 06-Dec-19 21:17:45

Hi all! Nice kitchen! Well done Baggs - soop will be pleased to see the new set up. Like the Christmas touch too of the fairy lights in the corner. Very festive!

10 bottles minimum I think kitty - you’re always surprised how many top-ups are appreciated when everyone is chatting and laughing!

Pantglas2 Fri 06-Dec-19 21:37:00

This is new to me so I’ve made some Bara Brith to go with a nice cup of tea. That willow pattern China reminds me of my grandmothers Welsh Dresser near the Aga and the kettle whistling away - happy days!

Charleygirl5 Fri 06-Dec-19 22:08:04

Yes, the new kitchen is very comfortable. I have had a good day and even gone one better and found my postal vote. I will put something in it but I have no idea what as yet. This has never happened before.

Tara is in my bedroom, on a chair beside the radiator. She does know how to look after no.1.

I do hope that the poor folk are getting slowly better.

The positive thing with soop having no internet access she will get things done in the house and all of her Christmas cards written whereas I have written 5.

Tara and I are going to have an early night but I have a good book to read for a couple of hours.

Evening all ,

Glad you’re all hear !
Hello inkcog and welcome ! No this isn’t ‘real’ but it is an ongoing thread with many familiar faces .

I’ve had a trying day making macaroons for the birthday boys party ! Let’s gloss over them for now lol

We are away early for the day to the party ( I’ll bring you back some birthday cake ) xx

Bellanonna Fri 06-Dec-19 23:10:44

Just found my way here. Thanks Baggs for opening up.
I found a glass for the Prosecco, but no Prosecco. Just 6 empty bottles. ☹️ Oh well I’ll settle for a cup of tea instead. It’ll
go nicely with the Bara Brith. Thank you Pantglas.

Nannytopsy Fri 06-Dec-19 23:25:09

Sausage rolls keeping warm on the Aga! Like the decor Baggs!
Strangely, we are going to hear DGS (6) in a school choir concert tomorrow night. Saturday? Apparently he knows at least 20% of the words ?.
? for the Panaches.

Charleygirl5 Sat 07-Dec-19 10:04:30

Nannytopsy that is better than many professional footballers struggling with the national anthem.

Would anybody like a feisty 15 year old cat who has the habit of waking me at 4.30 am? No wonder I fall asleep during the day.

Yet another stabbing in my local town, the boy was 14 years old. the second in under a week- thankfully no deaths. I missed it by 30 minutes.

A miserable day but not too cold.

Been looking for hours!?
Found you at last. Also been looking for a parcel Amazon have allegedly left outside my front door, not there, nor the back door, nor the parcel bin or the bin shed! I give up! I’m too old for this!

Baggs Sat 07-Dec-19 13:55:10

We had that scenario once, galen. Several weeks after I'd got another parcel of the same goods sent out, insisting that it be delivered by Royal Mail instead of DuffParcelDeliveries, my neighbour turned up with the original parcel which he'd found under a bush in his garden!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 07-Dec-19 13:56:34

I am meant to be wrapping up Christmas gifts, instead I am lazing by the aga with a cappuccino brew

Galen Sat 07-Dec-19 14:18:22

Baggs I. Had the same problem yesterday as well

Baggs Sat 07-Dec-19 14:21:30

Oh! Blimmin' 'eck, galen! ?
