Good Evening All Here we go again, this time in Word, hoping it will be more durable
Noticed that as soon as I mentioned our Jessie, the "Rat" thread ended abruptly with everyone jumping ship! An Aussie kelpie is second only to a Jack Russell for rat-catching. grin
Weather hotting up again in time for the weekend and the tennis finals.Ashleigh Barty, isn't she good? She says she's doing it to bring a smile to everyone's face,.apart from pocketing over a million dollars. so let's hear it for Ash!.wink
Dora, when you said you were curled up watching the rain, I thought you were about to say "and with a mug of hot tea ", but then I remembered being ear-bashed for patronising our "Eldies"when I volunteered to open up the Cafe in Mick's absence and greet early customers with mugs of hot beverages! Oh Happy days
More seriously!
!For several months I've had nurses and carers on my payroll, initially 3 times a week, now twice, working in tandem, so I've seen quite a few, but what saddens me in a way is the uncannily high number who are divorced or in the process, separated and mostly with children.
Whether the cause is shift-work; the nurses are on shift rosters with home and nursing home visits , I don't know but they mainly cite difficulties between DHs/partners and the children.
I don't have to pry; they are only too willing to discuss things whilst continuing to boss me around in the course of administering to my needs and I'm only hearing one side of the story, but they all seem genuine. Seems just like home from home, GN style. hmm

On a more upbeat note; another snippet from "The Oldie" written as part of a reminisce by Cleo Rocos of her long-dead (25 years) fiancee, Kenny Everett.
Quote; "Kenny was always ready for happy mischief and would quite often and innocently hurtle through boundaries he hadn't even noticed. He relished in teetering on the edge of being a bit naughty and bypassing dreary limits imposed by some fun-crushing rule-maker or do-gooder.
Sound familiar! ? grin

That certainly was a 'stream of consciousness' post rufus! So much to say in response. You obviously chat away to your teams of carers and they obviously chat right back and share their stories with you which is nice. Good on ya mate!
As to the Oldie article - I've read it- no surprise there. Kenny was a real one off.
