I was in love with Clint Eastwood when he was in Rawhide in the early 60's
He is 90 today.

Oh Yes, James Dean. I can so well remember going to see his second film(Rebelwith a Cause), all by myself at a local cinema. All of 14 years old, came home to find my parents had some friends over for a meal (did not call them dinner parties back then), I remember walking in and very dramatically, putting down my handbag, then stating loudly 'I am in love', turned on my heel and as I left the room finished the sentence - ' With a dead man'!!! Then went to my bedroom to cry.

I can also remember sitting in coffee bars surrounded with photos of him, and going though Rebel, word by word, - I saw it so many times I knew it off by heart. Had bracelet, necklet and I still have the scrap book I made then.

As time went on, I did have other film idols, but none like the intensity of Dean - we were called DeanAgers.

I think I am still a bit in love with Clint!

Ooh, liked CE as Rowdy Yates. My crush was Kenneth More, thought he was wonderful. Each year around my birthday I would write to him for a signed photo. (What a sad cow I was). Accidentally on purpose kept a copy of his autobiography which really belongs to Bexley Borough.

Yes, it was Michael Landon who played Little Joe in Bonanza then went on to Little House on the Prairie.

Anniebach Sun 31-May-20 17:20:15

Dirk Bogarde

Franbern Sun 31-May-20 17:27:23

Amazing how many of these stars were gay. James Dean was forced to hide his sexuality and it was probably one of the things that led to his sad death.

Auntieflo Sun 31-May-20 17:29:52

Guy Rolfe.
I had a book of film star pictures, remember those anyone? but then I am an oldie!

BlueBelle Sun 31-May-20 17:29:56

Oh yes and Yul Brynner how could I forget him

I fancied Warren Beatty after seeing him in Bonnie and Clyde. Was Clyde gay also? (Not Warren).

Also Omar Sharif in Lawrence of Arabia, Mayerling, and of course Doctor Zhivago.

Lucca Sun 31-May-20 17:57:21
