Good Morning Everyone,
Its another dry and sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day , some housework TV, DVD`s later but we are now in week 11 of lockdown.
And some of the thoughts of travel on the buses scares me , but I think with shops due to reopen in 2 weeks and a gradual opening of other facilities , will not be happy until the daily figure total is low double figures , with seeing things on TV with Bournemouth why try and control something , or is the government unable to get message across or have they failed .
Take Care
Mick

Good Morning all from sunny Severnside.

A walk to the mailbox first before I open up the house (no entrance fee today if you’d like to visit??).

I’ll potter about doing little jobs that I keep meaning to do. I started yesterday and it’s motivated me.

Belated greetings for MrSusan and hope he didn’t eat all his cake yesterday. Hope your move goes ahead for you whywhy.

Enjoy and stay safe all whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Mon 01-Jun-20 06:29:45

Sun’s up! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga where we had a spectacular thunderstorm at 5pm yesterday! Forked lightening over the sea - quite a display. Big splotches of rain for a few minutes. Anyway it freshened the air up.

From today the restrictions on age groups and times to go out have been lifted. We plan to go for a stroll along the paseo this afternoon to see what’s going on. Beaches are to be opened in about 3 weeks here I think. Parks too then I’ve heard.

June 1st.
March, April and May our lives have been on pause haven’t they?

Hope Monday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning Mick. Lovely day again in E Kent. The garden will get a good soak today with my “leaky” hose.
I agree with you that bus travel will be problematic for a while, although going into shop for a quick purchase or browse doesn’t worry me.
The painters will be on the stairs/landing/hall all week. difficult to get to the loo, either up or downstairs!
Otherwise, nothing much. Might Skype DD and DGDs In Bristol today, if they’re not too busy. I have been sending the girls a parcel most weeks. Got to find something for this week. We haven’t seen them since Christmas. It’s hard for us as they see the other GPS regularly on picnics or walks.
All of you with problems, I hope the day brings relief from pain, from banks, from phone companies etc.
Stay well, stay safe, be happy.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Guess what! The sun is shining in South Yorkshire - but the novelty is wearing off a bit now! Hang in there Mick - I’m with you; I would like to see single figures before we all go getting excited too. And there are always some who you won’t get the message across to, try as you might.
Making more elderflower cordial today; finishing up a load of food left over from yesterday and making a curry for later in the week. That’s my day. Exciting, eh?
Have a good safe day folks.

Good morning Mick, Beechnut and everyone from a sunny morning in Cheshire. Is it really 11 weeks Mick? I agree, the numbers are still high as far as I'm concerned. We'll get there, just keep staying safe.

I slept with the blinds open last night to enjoy the moonlight streaming in. Very calming somehow lying there seeing the brilliant moon.

Got to call the dentist this morning. Hope they're opening soon as I've now got two chipped teeth. This time on a walnut. Thought it was crunchy! Crusty bread and walnuts are now off the menu.

I'm doing an OU course and really want to crack on with that today. First a walk in the woods. I could see my neighbour in her garden before 6.00 this morning so she might fancy going early today.

Hope those able to meet family now have some wonderful meet ups. Stay safe whatever you may be up to today. flowers

cornergran Mon 01-Jun-20 06:49:55

Morning Mick, morning All. Blue sky over our corner of Somerset. The novelty will never wear off here greyd, just love the sun although the garden could do with some rain now. Feed our friends cat then an early beach walk for us while it’s quiet. Feel a bit tense waiting on news. A couple of positive phone calls and some admin will fill the rest of the day. The chef is on a planned strike today so salad it will be, the chief food taster will be disappointed smile. Be gentle with yourselves everyone.

Ginny42 Mon 01-Jun-20 06:52:23

grandMattie my kitchen got a good watering last night when the hose flew off the tap. Me too! I just stood there in shock dripping until I reacted, by which time the shelves, cupboards and floor were wet. I do have another tap I could have attached it to, but gave up at that point so must give the plants a watering before the day heats up.

Puzzler61 Mon 01-Jun-20 06:53:14

Good morning Mick and all from sunny, parched Worcs.
Good to welcome the new month and a bit more (safe) freedom.
The thunderstorm sounds dramatic Urmstongran, but then soon over and, as you say, everything is freshened up.

Puzzler61 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:00:01

Oops, pressed Post too soon.
DH has a golf game booked today and with relaxing of last week’s rules he can now play a match of 4 players. He’ll be gone from the house longer and I’ll have plenty of time to get some tidying up done before he returns.
Also on my “to do” list is to wash my little car. She’s been parked up in a corner of the drive and gathered dust with little use. I’ll have her shiny and white again ?
A few deliveries and planning tonight’s meal (from leftover chicken) and I think that will be about it.
Take it steady everyone, and I hope not too many of you will be worrying about grandchildren returning to schools today.
Let’s hope it’s the right decision. Time will tell. ?

Grammaretto Mon 01-Jun-20 07:00:37

Good morning Mick and your followers from the Scottish Borders where the birds are singing loudly to herald another hot and sunny day.

There is no official relaxing of covid rules here in Scotland though some are planned I believe. Videos on social media showed evidence of flouting, littering and lighting fires!

We were a bit wicked too. DD came to picnic in our garden with one of her DC. What a treat that was although she was shocked to see how poorly her dad is.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

Morning All

Another wonderful morning here in the north of Norfolk and we can go for a walk today without feeling we’re breaking the rules!

We went out yesterday and my phone says I walked four kilometres. (I still had to translate it to get the real feel of what I’d achieved - two and a half miles.) Not far for some, but a considerable distance after a few weeks with only the garden to plod around - and I got fed up with that after the second circuit!

We’ve got several local walks worked out where we shouldn’t met anyone, or if we do there’ll be space for passing. Secret places I remember from my childhood. We’d go to the beach - but I think most of the car parks are still closed.

I hope you all have a successful Monday.

Pantglas2 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:09:56

Morning all from another gorgeous morning in north Wales and I can’t believe you’ve had more bad weather in Spain Urmstongran! My friends over there swear I’ve jinxed things because I couldn’t come over in April as planned!

Restrictions lift a little today so will DD and family later for a couple of hours so I’m going to make some Brownies to celebrate! Stay safe everybody x

Urmstongran Mon 01-Jun-20 07:19:13

I’m watching the swifts from behind my balcony window as I drink my coffee. There must be at least 20 of them swooping and circling.

They fly right up to within an arm’s length of the window and I could touch them from up here on the sixth floor! Then they disappear for the day and return around 9pm when it’s dusk. Fascinating to watch up close!

Gingster Mon 01-Jun-20 07:20:37

Good morning all and another lovely one. It can’t be June already! Where did the last 2 months go?

I know what you mean greyduster the novelty is wearing a bit thin. That’s why I love the seasons in this country. A couple of days of rain would be lovely. I know I’m strange ?.

Arent hose pipes a pain ginny . Always leaking or popping off. I was standing in my front garden hosing the flowers, talking to my neighbour and the spray attachment leapt off the hose, soaking me and splattering my neighbour . How embarrassing. We did laugh though!

My DH. also Has a golf round booked today. It will be nice to have the house to myself for a few hours. Puzzler won’t it be lovely ?.

Hoping to see DD and little GD for an hour today. They certainly perk you up do t they ?

I picked up some tomato plants from friends yesterday and sat in their beautiful garden with a swimming pool. I was so desperate for a dip but declined their offer of a swimsuit. I will go back ready with my cozzie.

Have a fun packed day everyone. ?

dragonfly46 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:24:01

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Fortunately my DGD who is 5 is not going back to school today as the school has decided not to open.

Got a man coming to trim the trees and shrubs today so better get a wriggle on.

Hope everyone feels okay and has a good day.

Sar53 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:25:49

Good morning everyone from another beautiful sunny day in Essex by the sea. I can't believe we are into June, mine and my eldest daughter's birthdays coming up soon.
Yesterday we drove out to a couple of places I had never been to before, and all within a 20 mile radius of home. It was lovely to go somewhere different.
DH working from home today although not much is going on. I have a pile of ironing to do and some housework. Out later for a walk by the sea.
Have the best day you can and stay safe everyone xx

brook2704 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:55:42

Good morning everyone from a beautiful sunny warm Inverness. It was another scorcher yesterday and today’s forecast is the same . I think from tomorrow though the usual Scottish weather will return !

I too can’t believe it’s the 1st June already - how the time flies ! Important day today for DH as he’s going back to his part time local gardening job. It’s only a couple of hours and he’ll be working on his own outside so he should be safe. He’s definitely got a spring in his step this morning!

My youngest DGS in Cambridge is due to restart nursery today - I’m not sure how it will work in practice but DD1 thinks it should be ok with specific measures in place. No doubt I’ll get the run down later today.....

Hope you have a lovely time later with your DD and DGD gingster and well done with your walk nfk ?

Have a great day everyone and take care ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 01-Jun-20 07:58:40

Good morning Mick and all x

Beautiful Blue sky here in S E Essex, I am another one that cannot believe that it is June, our lives are on hold but the weather is kind. Our AC think the weather is good due to the lack of pollution, it is rare to see a plane in the sky.

I have bedding to iron first thing before it gets too hot, must edit my food delivery then it will be my kindle on the sun lounger.

Keep safe and well folks ?

Scentia Mon 01-Jun-20 08:02:15

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Still in shift in Nottinghamshire as the day staff are late!!
Off to see DD and DGS for a bit of TLC for her, she is suffering bless her. Must get home and walk the pooch first though, not much else planned for today.
Stay safe everyone ❤️

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny Glasgow. These last few days are probably our only summer, going by past experience!

Gosh, quite a few posting already! I used to often post just after Mick and Beechnut, I really must get my act together! grin

Nothing much to report today. I have a couple odd sewing jobs to do and a little weeding before it gets too hot.

Last year in Rome, I bought some end of season linen tops for €5 each, they were not quite the bargain I thought! ?
They were designed for a Senora with rather more ample proportions on top than me, if you get my drift.
I think perhaps that is why they were only €5! I didn’t try them on, as DH was getting rather impatient with my footering about, trying to choose from a plethora of bargains on a rail.
Forget the wonder of the archaeology and history of my beloved Rome, the highlight for me is the bargain rails at the end of the season! wink
However, as they are roughly a basic T shape, it won’t be a problem to alter them and they are rather nice and colourful! I do like a bit of colour, lifts the spirits.

The baking tins are empty, but the thought of being in the hot kitchen has stopped me over the last few days. I need to get my act together, whilst it's still relatively cool.
I made some tablet yesterday for my neighbours, as I now have NINE tins of condensed milk. Family and neighbours keep picking it up for me, but I don't wan't to look a gift ? in the mouth, so just smile and thank them! grin
However, I am now running short of sugar to make it, but am reluctant to say so, in case I'm inundated with sugar!!!

I discovered last night that my neighbour had booked a golf slot for DH and he this morning, as our courses are open again . However, DH didn’t tell me and declined, as he doesn’t want to put me at risk.
I only found out by accident from my neighbour’s wife..
I assured DH , as he would be going in his own car , not going inside and stripping off when he got home, he would be fine.
I feel really guilty, as he needs a break from me, sadhowever, he is adamant that he won't be playing.

Here's hoping everyone enjoys the good weather and a special mention to all who are struggling, especially Blue Sapphire, praying she had a better day yesterday.
?

I'm off to open up my maths class. The pupils' behaviour has been absolutely disgraceful over the weekend! ?

Bellasnana Mon 01-Jun-20 08:06:38

Good morning from Malta where it’s a sunny day.

Nothing on the agenda at all today, will see how the day unfolds.

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 01-Jun-20 08:08:08

Good morning from east London, blue and sunny, still warming up. The LTA has advised tennis doubles is no longer restricted to household members only so hoping for a game this week. There will be a lot of hand gelling and washing going on. Ever fancied pigeon racing Mick, I never thought of it as a sport until hearing on the news it was the first sport to ‘open up’ today. Shopping later, maybe a walk, have a good day.

Nannytopsy Mon 01-Jun-20 08:12:15

Good morning Mick and all his followers. I understand all the reservations about buses, shops etc. I worry that the lifting of lockdown is being driven by business needs not science. DGS is year 1 but will not be back at school.
I am sitting in my sunny Suffolk garden listening to goldfinches and collar doves and a peacock??
The patio doors have already been cleaned inside and out and the bins done. I got lots of extra strawberries yesterday so it’s jam making today.
I suppose I had better take DH a cup of coffee to get him moving.
Have a good day everyone.
